He didn't yell at me for Allying with them, Leliana did instead LOL!

Really? I do remember her being miffed at me but I could have sworn he was mad too. But maybe it just came off that way because I was expecting him to be happy but he definitely wasn't. I'll have to make note of it my next pt :)

At this point, I really don't want to dwell on "what might have been". The amount of negativity floating around in the past few weeks has been very tiring.

At this stage I'm more curious than I am anything else.

It's fun to hope for mods, too. Apparently someone is already working on a f/f Cass mod. So that means manipulating models and cut scenes. Now it seems anything is possible.

I'm intrigued to see just how much the modders will be able to do with DAI.

With the f/f mod, do modders know if Cass has unused audio voicing a f/f romance, like Cullen with the m/m unused stuff?

I guess the question is was it changed, or did the dev quoted get it wrong? I understand them keeping the time travel thing secret, but I wonder what made them decide to have it be Leliana that's captured every time etc.

Other than the bit about Leliana being "sent" in rather than her chosing to go (and the obvious difference of changing her appearance), I assumed most of the rest of the differences were due to there being a mage branch and a templar branch at that point in the main storyline?

And to add more angst to the templar/Cullen dynamic.

And the fact that the Inq is taking lyrium and doesn't even know the effects it can have later in life.

*snip*

An old templar, her bones brittle, her hair grey and long past its glory.  Walking through the forest, the smell of leaves and grass and moss.  Something stirs and she remembers his face.  Only for a moment. She blushes, and touches her cheeks in wonder.  Then it is gone.  The light in the forest casts long shadows, and her feet follow those darkened lines, searching for home....

:(

She forever walks the ways of twilight and shadow, eternally lost in a world of grays.

A dream that is like a far off memory.

A memory that is like a far off dream.

To lose one's mind, one's memory... To imagine that Cullen might have gone this path... Even if he's trying to stop, it's been 10 years++. Creators be merciful...

I don't mind the time travel thing, though I would've liked to have seen what became of Josie and Cullen if sent in instead, even if it was via notes or a small cutscene of them in their future state etc.

Potential drama. My guess?

Spoiler

Artsyneurotic had also written the scenario very beautifully.

But what about the part when they said that sending Leliana in and getting her tortured (based on choices we'd made earlier in the game) would have lasting results on not only her behaviour/outlook/etc but also her relationship with the Inquisitor? Clearly that wouldn't be the case since it all happens in the future.

As far as I can tell, the only choice we make in game that effects that quest is whether you go pro-mage or not, LOL!

Thinking about it some more, I recall the dev mentioning in the demo that the Redcliffe castle quest happened quite far into the game... but when it shipped the quest occurs in the first act.

I'd kill to find out what the original plan was for it and how it was supposed to tie into our actions leading up to that point.

I am too. In a way, announcing that it would be almost impossible to mod was like waving a red flag at modders to challenge them. Hair mods, obviously, are the thing people want most universally, I think, and mods for the PJs (at least the color, I mean, honestly, rich color was evidence of status and wealth historically, not even peasants wore beige which is essentially undyed cloth - you can dye cloth with things as simple as onion skins or lichen. Even white is much higher status since it took a lot of work to keep white looking white.) A better range of hair colors would make me happier (like black that's consistently black and a more attractive blonde.)

I'd be thrilled with a f/f mod for Cass since that's the only feasible one of the four LIs I really like but are gated to my female dwarves. Cullen's isn't because he isn't adjusted for the different heights, which is an entirely different level of work to alter, and I feel that Solas's race gating and Dorian's gender gating is too intrinsic. Since Cass enjoys having female IQs flirt with her, I think the mod wouldn't be much change to her character.

One theory, they might want to make a whole scenario where you can send either of the three advisors much later in the game. And Leliana, if sent, will get captured & tortured but not fed darkspawn stuffs so she retains her face.

And all these happens in the present time.

I was kind of lumping all the things they said about Leliana under her choosing to go, and was thinking about what they said about Dorian being in the party, etc. as part of the choice between Templars or mages. I'm just not terribly articulate at the moment

Other than that, well, there's not much difference of height between male & female elfs & human...

Maybe if there's no tool, well, if some people don't mind, just cut that few seconds & go directly from the desk cleaning à la Cullen scene to the waking up scene...? He already got the dialogue recorded no?

I'm not modder at all but well... to think of it, only the scene I mentionned under spoiler might be difficult on the animation POV.

I don't think so, but I can't be sure. To my knowledge she was always gonna be f/m only (like Blackwall is m/f only). I think only the add-ons have both voices done.

Oh man... "Oh ... I thought you knew." :( :(  Man... that's like the one-two punch. Not only will you lose your  memories, but you're a dumb ass for not knowing that in advance. :crying:

Naw, he definitely yelled at you on the templar side. Both if you recruited and disbanded the templars. I know, because I was protemplar on my first PT and reloaded too many times trying to get him to be happy. No joy. Now on second playthrough, I see on the promage side he's *more* mad. But mad on both sides.

See, that's what I mean about following the game's development too closely. Cause I was REALLY looking forward to that stuff. I mean I was sure everything I did was going to come back to bite me on the ass. But nothing did, nothing at all! And yeah, seems only the mage/templar thing has actual results, and all that does it give you different quests... doesn't really affect characters or the story.

I'm kind of glad that we didn't, because if we'd found Josephine turned into some kind of Red Lyrium broodmother (since do we ever see any female Red Templars at all?), or had to fight a Behemoth that used to be Cullen, that probably would have broken me a little...

Sorry, I was talking about the possibility of Cullen's race gating being removed, not the gender gating. I'm cheering on the modders for removing the gender gating on Cullen and Solas both, believe me, but my favorite race to play is a dwarf, and I'm personally very lukewarm at best on the current LI options for a female dwarf. I was just commenting that the amount of work required to make his romance work for a dwarf or qunari is probably much more than any modder is going to be willing to do, while Cass is already adjusted for dwarf and qunari heights. So, to my mind, she's the only one I can reasonably hope for.

Yeah, I feel the same about Solas and Dorian, BUT I won't stop others from going for it, lol!

Oh, I feel the same, I would just be really uncomfortable with that alteration personally, especially in Dorian's case. I don't consider it my business to butt into what others do in game, however. :P

I'm no modder either, but I wouldn't thinking making Cullen available to male elves and humans would be too difficult? I mean due to height differences. Now as to whether it's easy or extremely hard or nigh impossible to be able to manipulate cut scenes in FB3 (no matter the situation), I'm sure only a modder would know!

But hearing people are working on Cass f/f is encouraging imo, not just for me, who hopes for m/m Cullen, but for adding in all sorts of scenes, non-romance scenes, too.

Oh I bet that would smell very nice...earthy and like springtime...

To my knowledge, oakmoss is a pretty common scent in modern masculine fragrances. I collect vintage perfumes as a hobby...  :D

*edit for ToP* All this talk about manly man-smell!

gvpTX9C.png

Nice to see a fellow frag-head! I also collect perfumes, and have studied them informally for over 20 years. Oakmoss is one of my favorite accords- lots of my favorite older feminine scents have used it, but IFRA regulations have taken their toll on perfumers and now it's not as easy to come by in modern scents. :( Anyway, neato, and a very romantic Cullen pic.

So... If ever we could send not Leliana but Cullen or Josie...

Cullen - forced fed red lyrium, either lost his mind completely or even more sad happens just like what artsyneurotic wrote, still retain his sanity but deformed & "dead already".

Josie - Broodmother (OMG. I'll be having nightmare...)

Broodmother. The thing that literally gave me nightmare from DA:O.
