( Wanted to share to see if anyone heard anything similar. I can't really hear anything but if its true. If played backwards it has a different meaning what does that really mean. I heard about people planting messages in peoples head if messages or songs played backwards or am I over reaching)

 

Reddit user sashimi_taco, who goes by the name Geek Remix on her YouTube channel, has created a video of the Inquisitor at the Temple of Mythal. During the scene where players are offered a choice, incoherent whispers can be heard echoing around the player. As it turns out, these incoherent whispers aren’t incoherent; they’re actually reversed to sound incoherent.

 

Although there’s still some dispute over the exact words being heard, what can be made out is a game-changer.

"Go to him, Dirth…"

"Mythal speaks the calling…"

"Halt… Blind…" or “The call is sweet, from the blood…”

"He is bound to the same…"

"Travel far…"

"Don't speak…"

"She speaks the truth…"

"She's fallen, lost…" or “She saw the lost…”

The big news here is the line "Mythal speaks the calling…" Mythal is an elven deity, however the calling – a song sang by Archdemons to call darkspawn to their side – has previously been linked with the Old Gods. What this means is an elven God, of sorts, could also be an Old God, resulting in two religious beliefs crossing over with one another

As you may know, the Tevinter Imperium of old follow the teachings of the Old Gods and their quest to breach The Golden City, a place they perceive to be of power. The Dalish elves walk the path of Elven pantheon -- led by Elgar'nan the All-Father, and Mythal the Protector. And yet, Mythal seemingly fits into both stories; Mythal could be an elven Goddess and an Old God.

the first line where the voices almost say Dirthamen. It sounds as if the voices are addressing Dirthamen, suggesting he's awake as well.

If anything, I always thought the Old Gods could perhaps be the Forgotten Ones, with whom Fen'Harel had allied himself to deceive the Elven pantheon.

You know, since Solas likes to be cagey, I'm wondering if just  because he says "there's nothing in the lore" doesn't mean that no, there's nothing literal "in the lore" but that doesn't necessarily mean they aren't connected. I just think it's an odd way to put it.

And to leave us even more confused, we see Mythal shapeshifting into a dragon. It's the kind of ambiguity that leads to further speculation, such as:

Maybe the Old Gods were trapped in dragon bodies? Dragons that were themselves imprisoned undergroud? And the few that weren't only managed to return by possessing mortals, like Flemeth and Solas?

I think not. I don't think he was ever killed like Mythal was and therefore never had to find another body.

All the elven gods were shapeshifters. In the Temple, the unreadable elven writings, when translated, spoke of dragonic transformation as being a divine right. So, the dragon form was a characteristic of all the elven gods it would seem.

He's been asleep for a 1000 years and only awakened recently.

 

On Mythal, good question, altho I think it's because she technically "died" before the imprisonment. Only a spark of her is left, inside Flemeth.

I think elu means that he is Fen'Harel, but what it means to be a god is in question.

Yeah Fen'Harel/Solas has been asleep for a 1000 years and only just awoken a little before the breach*perhaps a year*...or so we are led to believe since Cory probably took his orb and went right to the Conclave.

 

We don't know if Fen'Harel necessarily "trapped" the Elven Gods. We know he sealed them away and I personally think the Dalish are wrong yet again. I think a Forgotten God killed Mythal and in order to stop a war between the two sets of gods, Fen'Harel sealed them away so Thedas wouldn't be destroyed. He would be the anti-hero...makes for a good story.
