Yeah but it's lame that they're doing it with the polytheistic culture instead of the monotheistic one.

Dear Lord, they have no clue at all who they are worshipping.

Imagine how hilarious it would have been if they had scolded Solas for not beign a "true elf" in their eyes.

Atleast the Dalish clan we met this time were decent folk.

I agree, to a point. My issue is that DG has said time and again that they won't follow in the steps of DnD and have real live gods walk the earth. DG has also said that if they question faith, it would be to question "what is a god?"

So I think that's all good fodder for asking 'what is a god?' in this context.

Yeeah, I've wondered about that. As Solas would say, the Dalish don't really get it right very often. ;)

I love the idea of us being able to explore "what is a god". That is something I could really sink my teeth into as long as it's not like..."Mwahahahahaha The Maker has been the "true" god all along and all you people who are fans of the others "gods" can go wallow in your stupidity."

Mmhm.

Lol, too true. I do find it pretty funny that they are still called "The Creators" even when DG is like..."Nah bro..." I think we really need to pick more of Solas' brain. Speaking of Solas...how far are you in his romance?

All the elven gods were shapeshifters. In the Temple, the unreadable elven writings, when translated, spoke of dragonic transformation as being a divine right. So, the dragon form was a characteristic of all the elven gods it would seem.

Say, do you think Morrigan is an Elf blooded Human, too? I mean, it's neither here nor there, considering Flemeth is apparently human and has the whole Mythal association. It just occurred to me, since we don't know Morrigan's father ...

Does anyone?

Sorry, I hate when people pick on the Dalish. They seem particularly hated on this forum and they are my favorite people.

No, but since we are talking about the elven pantheon, I was just commenting on them specifically. And the thing is, it would seem that many, many of them have no clue how far they have strayed.

Also, Felassan from TME. Working for Solas?

Maybe the elves mean/think that their gods (i.e., "The Creators") created them, the elves? But that the world was just always there?

I kind of always assumed that's what they meant. Although that would include all the creatures populating the world, too. Because they have origin stories for things like halla.

No I got that impression too, particularly since

Spoiler

I reckon that it makes most 'sense' if all of them travel with you most of the time, since otherwise the whole summoning horn thing wouldn't work - it would be much more difficult to change your party composition if half the people were all the way back in Skyhold and had to hike all the way out to wherever you are.  Plus then you get the added benefit of imagining that there's more bonding and party banter between everyone instead of just you and them individually.  It's all a bit of a fudge for the game mechanics though so it probably works however people want to think of it.

Edit: except for the Fade, where I definitely had different responses from people who went in and people who didn't.

Ack, top...well, this can never be reposted too many times!

I can't like your post for some reason.  I like to think more travel with the inquisitor also.

The fade part, you can just assume not everyone was at the bridge to fall off, maybe in other areas fighting, or got away from the collapsing stuff.

I find it fascinating that we're even given a look at the deities behind a pantheon at all.

Probably because I edited it about 57 times trying to post the image.  D'oh!

Dear Lord, they have no clue at all who they are worshipping.

I feel sorry for them. Put yourself in their...shoes...wait...that saying doesn't work, lol! Anyway, imagine if you were raised knowing that your whole peoples' history has been nearly erased, your gods being constantly questioned, your very people being seen as inferior/savages. I would feel very uneasy and incomplete if all that I was raised to believe was just...lies or misinterpretations. The Dalish are bitter and standoffish but wouldn't you be if all you believed and knew was lost?

That does bring up a question.  The Dalish elf you meet when you take Solas to the cave to activate the orb thing gives two different answers to who she is when you are an elf or not an elf... I wonder which is true...

And the whole conceit of the Dalish is that they're trying to preserve what they've lost... meaning they had to lose it to begin with! I think they're just the only ones honest about that when it comes to their history/traditions/lore. LOL

And Felassen. OMFG!!! I forgot about him. Um, can someone remind me what he looks like?? For science?

I think he was probably human, but I don't think it seriously has any bearing on her character at all.

Oh God, no I do not want to think Morrigan as an Elf-blooded human. She got with a romanced Alistair in my canon and had the OGB...so that would make Kerian...no...just no. Who knows...maybe Flemeth was asexual, lol!

Good grief y'all. I'm not attacking the Dalish. I'm just commenting on the fact that they really don't know what the elven gods truly were.

You just sound a little superior and contemptuous when talking about them, but it's probably a misreading :) Dalish fans are sensitive!

LOL In some sense this doesn't matter, if one of your parents was a human, you're human. The end.
