...and further muddying the waters, from "armor of the knights-divine" they sound like glorified bodyguards.

"Within the Templar Order are the Knights-Divine, those templars who serve the Divine directly, both as her personal guard as well as the enforcers of her will. Usually these men and women prefer to fade into the background, their positions granted as rewards for service. At least one Knight-Divine, Ser Nolan Brisson, was notorious in the late Exalted Age for being both the lover and the alleged puppet master of Divine Amara III."

Here's an update on my bugged game state.  I took Solas to the Winter Palace and she's able to ask both him and Cullen to dance O.o;;;.  Solas's romance flag didn't set after his balcony kiss (he still calls her "my friend"/"lethallan" and no one else, like Sera, acknowledged a romance), and my Inquisitor later pursued Cullen (who I know has a romance flag set).  I wonder if my game is going to do something really weird at the end of this quest, lol XD

Edit: Top of page Cullen, since I'm at the Winter Palace... Here he is with my Trevelyan:

Wow, so thanks to an eyebrow mod, I think I've come the closest yet to making my face in-game:

On the Knights-Divine, yes, that is what DG says, that they run the whole thing and are a committee of folk selected by the Divine. My problem is with BW also saying "the Knight-Vigilant commands the templars."

According to that sister, the letter in Therinfall and the line I'm remembering from one of the books, I don't know which one now (there's no Knight-Vigilant in the book, there's a line about one), it seems the Knights-Vigilant have the authority to take command of the Templars in the absence or in the removal of a Knight-Commander - so that could be where the commanding the Templars comes from.

The Knight-Divine.... yeah that one's a mess. Each mention of Knights-Divine in the lore says something different - though that armor description is the only place I've seen them referred to as bodyguards to the Divine, rather than the higher ranking circle of the Templars themselves.

I have to search through my screencaps for that Knight-Vigilant at Therinfall, I know I screencapped the hell out of that quest for reference. Will post when I find it.

On an unrelated note (not that we ever do that in here :P ), I may have spent a little time capturing SSs of Solas's romance yesterday...

No kidding! I have to wonder a bit if the people in charge of developing the hair and eyebrow portion of the CC were really familiar with the game or the players. I'm not picky on eyebrows, and I still find there are only 3 or 4 I'd put on even my most aggressive female IQ, and not many more I'd put on a male IQ, even a dwarf.

That would be great. On the books, the words "vigilant" "knight-divine" or "knights-divine" are never used in either Asunder or TME in that context, so there would have to be another description that somehow means the same thing. If you can think of it, I'd be grateful.

Great job they done at the Conclave, LOL!

Right, I found the caps from Champions regarding the dead Knight-Vigilant. Seems I was remembering this particular letter wrong, so I'll have to hunt down through the codex entries and conversations with Cassandra for wherever I saw the specific mention that he was going there to investigate Lucius. This one makes it sounds like he was just regrouping with the Templars after escaping the Conclave, and Lucius killed him because he would have found the truth. Which also makes perfect sense, so.

Asks can be answered publicly or privately and they can also be reblogged. Fanmail can be seen only by the person it was sent to.

Awesome! Thank you!!  Hmm, so looks like they're rolling back what David said, and reinstalling a Knight-Vigilant above the Knights-Divine. Which then also doesn't make sense why that sister in VR talked about plural Knights-Vigilant again. *sigh* CONSISTENCY, PEOPLE!!

Sure thing. I'm re-reading through Masked Empire right now and yeah it's not here, just re-read Asunder last month and it wasn't there either, so it might be in Last Flight or World of Thedas. Hell, it might even be in the tabletop RPG books, for all that my terrible memory serves for anything. I'll have to really dig this one out, it's gonna drive me crazy. In any case, Last Flight is next up for re-reading, so if I find anything there I'll give you a poke.

Seriously! Just give us one consistent version of the Order that doesn't contradict itself every five seconds. My scholarly heart can't take so much random retconning!

Those words are also not present in Last Flight (which I haven't finished reading yet, but Search still works! LOL). Nor are they in WoT, which only says the Seeker hierarchy is parallel to, but outranks, the templars (p. 119).

One idea I had... could they have been mentioned in the Last Court...?

Also there's no word limit on fanmail. And you have to have been following someone for awhile to send them fanmail.

Aaah, good thinking. I have screencaps of my Last Court playthrough, so I'll look through those too. And thanks for searching thorugh Last Flight and WoT, that saves a lot of time (I only have the physical copies of each). If they don't show up in either, I'll just skip to searching through the tabletop books, then.

My pleasure. Incidentally, for WoT I use the amazon Look Inside feature. :D It won't take you to that page, but it'll give you the blurb it found and where.

Thanks, both of you. I get confused because everyone's blog is different and doesn't seem to always have button for both functions. Finally, I found a drop down menu on their username that gives me the options "ask a question" and "fanmail". Seems only "ask a question" can be anonymous...?

It shouldn't be only anonymous. It should have a box to check if you want your message to be anonymous. The default is for the message to not be anonymous.

I think I've used 2, but I haven't tried creating a male IQ yet.
