It would be nice if it was optional, then, or two shades of black, one that changes a lot, one that only changes slightly. I don't want brown hair, I want black (and I'm particularly frustrated right now because I was hoping I'd be done with that problem when I left Haven, but that brown color shows up some at Skyhold too. For me, the change is way too drastic, and I'm particularly disappointed that my screenshots for a romance scene don't show the hair color I gave her. I feel as if a designer is stepping in to say "that's not really what you wanted, here, let me fix it." It wouldn't be so frustrating if I didn't also pretty much find all of the shades of blonde and brown, um, not to my taste. I really don't want to run that many red heads :P

I guess I'm just used to the "horse of a different color" for hair irl, so it doesn't bother me in game at all. The only time my hair didn't change color depending on light was when I used caustic box dyes and my hair was all the same color. Since I went "natural" with henna and indigo, it changes since it looks more natural overall.

I think I used the same. I wonder if different hair meshes reflect the light differently. But I agree it sucks, not that I dislike the dark brown mind you

Part of the problem is that I'm picking skin tones and eye colors that I would never put with even dark brown hair. But some of it may be the hair mesh; my dwarf rogue Reska is having some of the same problem, but not quite as pronounced, thank goodness. At least I'm not overly attached to Derzka's hair style, I just wanted to give her something short because she's a warrior. I don't dislike brown, I just don't particularly like it. What I really resent is feeling as if my character choice is being overridden because obviously I can't really have wanted what I selected.

Blue black hair, like this:

Are you using SweetFX? Depending on what preset you use, it can cut down on a ton of red, and add a lot of contrast to make blacks blacker.

Nope. Isn't that limited to Win 8 systems?

My real objection is feeling that my choice is being overridden without me having a choice about it, especially since it's the only black hair color choice. Maybe I'll make myself feel better by creating half a dozen completely bald and eyebrowless IQs tonight. If they're tracking statistics, maybe that'll help suggest there's a problem... :P

No, it works on Win 7 as well.

I agree. It's not so much the size of the screen, as the lighting in the CC. I'm looking at you, black eyeliner! *shakes fist*

On a different note, did anyone on the PS4 or X1 play the game on a larger TV (>50")? It's just that I am thinking, Cullen on a big screen = major swoon :D

I only have a 42" but it LED and yes, I have to have a cold shower after the desk scene!!

Also I have to clean it before I play! Can't have a toddler finger mark on my Cullen!

Aw, thanks! They were initially meant to just be mods for my personal use, but if other people would like them, then I'd be willing to share. :D

It would be awesome if you'd be willing to share them :)

Apropos eyebrows... I was just browsing the Nexus, and found a mod for Solas. It gives him Thranduil's eyebrows, and he looks pretty badass with them :D Now I am sorry to have started another game without any mods... Ah, well.. Back to Haven I go :)

Really? Those brows on Solas just made him look like a creeper in need of a trim to me...

Awesome work on the part of the modder tho...just not my cup o' tea...

Yes please! I'm curious to see what they would look like. The brows I have now in-game are close to mine, but still not 100%. Yours look a bit darker which is nice since mine are black irl. I wish I knew how to make my own. I'm pretty handy with photoshop - it's just how to get it into the game that I have no clue on.

The only thing that sucks is that I have to start characters over that I'm still playing since they now have vicious double-brow syndrome...

Yeah, I made the eyebrows black, but of course they won't be black all of the time due to lighting and such. Here we go: https://www.mediafir...6y45z4xpsgsof4j

This is for the retexture that replaces the third complexion to add eyebrows. The amount of color in the lips (when no lip color is used) was also reduced.

Haha :) Well, I guess this is a result of me finding bushy eyebrows as a hallmark of masculinity :D Fenris had some pretty impressive brows, perfect for scowling, and I loved them. Whereas Anders' looked daintily plucked :D Oh, well :) I'm just excited that mods are coming out for DA:I :)

I think my b/f spends as much time on his brows as I do!

I guess that mod just reminds me too much of "old man sprouts" that eyebrows tend to do on older gentlemen.

Now THAT is a reasonable amount of color change that wouldn't be irritating me. But it bothers me that a system that meets all their requirements wouldn't display appropriately. Asking my daughter now about SweetFX to get a judgement call on using it, though.

A well-groomed man is always attractive :)

Judging by the scene after the horizontal Remigold, Cullen takes good care of himself too :)

I also have to say that you are da' bomb for telling me about changing the extensions and patch #...you have saved my saves so many times already. I can't believe I haven't seen that suggestion yet in the step-by-step's I've been reading.

true. I find myself doing exactly what I did for DA2: Getting off my couch and standing a few inches from my T.V. just to make my character.

This is what I do, too. Except I sit down. :D

You know I had a thought yesterday...

At the start of DAI production Cullen was not intended to be a romance option until they extended it another year. If the extention did not happen, my poor Inquisitor would have had no one to romance.

Thank goodness for small miracles. No?

I avoided all the spoilers regarding romances, except for when I was at PAX East last year in the Bioware Base and Mike Laidlaw annnounced that Cullen would be romanceable (you should have heard the room cheer), and I knew I liked Cullen as a character from the previous games but I didn't know what his personality would be like in this game, so I came into the game with a really open mind. And I found Cullen was hands down my overwhelming favorite. If he wasn't romanceable, I might have gone with Cassandra or Blackwall on my first playthrough since I couldn't romance Dorian or Solas, but I don't think I'd be nearly as satisfied. The game might have been very different if they had a year less to work on it, but if Cullen remained the same with the exact same content, I'd be thinking, "Why can't I romance this guy ever? DA4 please???"

Also it makes me wonder what happens at the end of the game if you don't romance anyone. Stare out at the sunrise by yourself? Does your BFF come instead?

Nope, no one will come. You'll be alone.

Which is not ok.

I believe you do stare out at the sunset alone.

My canon (via the Keep) will probably be a single inquisitor since, you know, my character still cannot romance Cullen. Not much of a miracle for some of us.
