And honestly, for those who did have a romance that didn't make it that far, the ending on the balcony by yourself can come across rather sad.
This is different interpretations again, I guess. The playthrough where my Quizzie ended up alone was the one where Sera dumped her (I even considered save scumming and picking the relationship-saving option, but the things Sera said there were so true that I decided my IQ deserved to hear them and live with the fact), so in theory she had every right to feel lonely and miserable in the end.... but I didn't. The image came across to me as her standing tall, refusing to be brought down, coming out of it in one piece, even if a little frayed at the edges.
Like, I acknowledge that it could be nice to have a friend come up, and that it can be roleplayed as a miserable ending, but it doesn't need to. It can be a good scene just the way it is. It's all in how you interpret that scene for each of your IQs.
