Putting in spoiler tag because slightly off topic.

So I realize this may not be the best place to discuss this, but I just watched a Feminist Frequency video on women as background objects and I agreed with 99% of what she was saying. But I kind of disagree with her saying that rape/sex/prostitution in games like Dragon Age is completely unjustified. She showed the city elf origin story from DAO as an example of unnecessary displays of female sexualization, but that was the first Origin story I played when I first got DAO and I felt that it depicted more the way certain aspects of society are in the world than negativity towards women (and I don't think they were even wearing sexually appealing clothing at any point either). I realize it could be taken as depicting females negatively, but it served a purpose rather than some games that have similar situations simply to show women as needy sexual objects. And if you are a female in the elf origin story, you get yourself out of the situation anyway, showing you're not a "damsel in distress". I guess what I'm getting at is there are certain situations where it's appropriate to show that sensitive material. Am I the only one who feels this way? I do believe in equal rights for everyone without question, and I disagree with the way many games sexualize people, I just feel like if tactfully done, it can be implemented into games. And I think for the most part Bioware is pretty tasteful in the way they depict scenes like that. Sorry for the ramble. I just want to know if anyone else agrees or if I should feel bad about myself for having that opinion....
