I am a STRONG supporter of Sarkeesian, and that is why I politely asked/suggested that we not discuss the topic in the Cullen thread; I don't have any wish to deal with contentious issues in this thread, but if you guys don't want to respect that then okay. I'll just leave and return later.

Yes, let's stay on topic. Considering I hold the opposite view of Artemis. Anyway I'm sorry that I haven't posted here frequently in a while but during my playthrough I got emotional when I had to kill Carroll. Carroll was hilarious with his sarcasm and his interactions with the Origins companions (especially Sten's and his cookies.) . When I saw him as a Red Templar monster, I admit I almost teared up. Right now I've just killed my second Dragon and I'm in the Hissing Wastes trying to level up and get weapons and armor for me and my allies.

Heavy Rain was amazing, sadly we had to play that in a 'group' session with my husband, his mom and sister, needless to say having 4people make decisions is a terrible idea espeically if you haven't finished the game once at that point.

Betcha the sex scene was a tid bit awkward...

My b/f and I play those types of games together. He controls it and I give input because he's usually terrible at figuring out where to go and what to do.

As a side note, does anyone find it funny that the Red Templars are pretty abominations after crictising mages about how they're always in danger of being monsters. You are what you hate indeed.

The Last of Us made me sob so badly...I love that game. I too have never played it, but it is probably one of the few "zombie games" that I would consider playing. The Walking Dead is another one of those games that I love...that sadly has zombies...

I'll be honest, It's hard for me to get into the Last of Us because I'm not a huge fan of the genre.

Ugh I had the same problems with the one I was with too. At one point I just grabbed the controller out of his hands and told him that he would be the one watching and commenting.

Neither am I. I NEVER play horror games or zombie games, but that is probably one of the few games that I would play of that genre. It has such a compelling storyline and characters...at I think so, lol.

So, so awkward, I don't think we forwent it either so all the pixelated smexy time was forced upon all of us. *shudder*

That note you get from Cullen at the War Table about Carroll was heartbreaking for me, romancing his majestic furry-shoulders or not. Part of it drove home how much interaction the npcs had behind the scenes and in the intervening years and for me made them feel like real people.

Thanks for the input!  I'll give it a try.  I need some drama!!!!

Personally for me: there is enough drama that happens in Cullen's romance without the need of him to take the lyrium. Not to little and not overboard ( like Solas romance-bleh). I don't need "days of our Dragon Age."

Also NOT to offend anyone or their choices but telling Cullen to take lyrium again is a total dick move. (Shrugs).

I was hoping Carroll would had cookies on his person, but, alas, no.

I love that game, but I can't play it. I have to watch my b/f play it...it's the whole zombie thing that freaks me out. I love watching The Walking Dead, but I can't take games that make me freak like a Halloween haunted house.

I remember one part...where you're in an office basement and it's completely dark and all you have is your flashlight...you can hear the zombies in the distance getting closer...then you get backed into a small office and OMG! Then you have to run and turn on this generator thing and more come running at you out of the darkness. That was the one time both of us almost peed ourselves playing a video game...a game has never had my heart pounding so much in suspense.

Also, if you like murder mysteries, check out Heavy Rain...

I have never played a murder mystery, though I love the genre in books and movies. I did get Alan Wake during the Steam sale, though, so I am looking forward to that :)

And thanks for the tip on Heavy Rain :) I'll check it out :)

Off topic, but why is this lamp in the middle of the mountains? Did Solas take me to Narnia?

Does anyone know who Josie is referring to when she's talking to the aide-messagener about cookies? Part of me wants to believe its our beloved Commander but I'm not sure...

I suppose your reaction to Carroll depends on whether you had Leliana or Morrigan in your party when you tried to cross to the tower. I've always considered him one of the, um, less attractive examples of the Templars because of that, and enjoyed using Morrigan to scare the ever loving you-know-what out of him because of it.

So I bring to all of you some new screenshots of Orion Trevelyan...I found new armor and I put him in it...at that moment I realized that I kind of wanted to romance my own creation...is that weird? Without further adieu I grant to all of you Sexy Screenshot(s) of the Day!

My b/f LOVES post apocalyptic survival games. He's been on the hunt for a good MMO in the genre for a while now. I can't play most of the games in the genre (cuz I'm a weenie n' all), but I do love me some Fallout. Though I'm afraid of the ghouls. :(  I had to mod my Fallout NV to make the ghouls act like slow shambling zombies just so I wouldn't get so freaked out all the time.

If you want to play a quick game in the genre that is psychotically well-written, check out Enslaved. I know Andy Serkis is the voice of the main protagonist, and I'm pretty sure he was the lead writer for the game.

I love to read post apocalyptic survival novels though...and it's even better when there's romance thrown in. There's a series available on Amazon that is quite good - Life After War. Yeah, gotta have me my romances.

It is Cullen. There's a whole chain of banters between Josie and the runner, and then between Cullen and the runner, where she's trying to figure out when is Cullen's birthday (he says it's already passed), what kind of gift he would like (she considers giving him... I think it's a new robe, can't remember exactly, but figures he'll hate it), until she finally settles on the cookies, complaining that it's too simple. But hey, he likes simple.

Also NOT to offend anyone or their choices but telling Cullen to take lyrium again is a total dick move. (Shrugs).

That's how I always felt about it. I must've written 2 lenghty posts on why this is one of the most important decisions in the Cullen romance.

And yet, there are some people who feel it's quite alright to induce or force him into becoming once more a drug addict.

Some people even become shocked when he breaks up with their Inquisitor due to that. Unbelieably, there was even a thread opened not too long ago where someone actually asked if Cullen breaks up with you if you insist he takes lyrium.

Sometimes I wonder if those people have actually cared for anyone - or anything - in real life to even consider making this kind of choice, y'know...it's just not something you ask. The outcome of the available choices are simply pretty obvious to anyone who's ever had, Idk, a friend in life. Someone who once had to depend on your advice for a responsible choice.

Your Quizzy reminds me a bit of Dylan McDermott :) Very handsome :) And, nope, not weird at all. I made myself a beefcake in DA II, and thoroughly enjoyed it :D And I did not blame Izzy for jumping him at the earliest opportunity :)

Bioware did an amazing job with his romance. It's very mature and tasteful, as they promised. Games can be pretty predictable, but DA:I was certainly surprising in this aspect!

I am playing this way ONCE for a templar run just to see how everything plays out.

Can we not bring this up again? Some people (including myself) have their reasons for role playing this decision. I don't feel that I should have to justify this...again...and I really don't appreciate the assumption that I don't care for anyone - or anything - in real life.

I watched an LP of Metro 2033, and then found out that the game was based on a book by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It's a pretty good read, if you like the genre :)

Sigh. This is a game, not real life. Please be respectful of people's choices in how they play their game, and it's hard not to take that any other way than intended to offend. This forum is usually known for being respectful of each other and trying to make constructive statements.

I don't know who is going to be jumping for my guy...well other than Timebean. I am quite sure when she sees these new screenshots...she might just explode, lol.

I know he is going to be flirting with Cassandra, Josie, and may flirt with Dorian...I'm not sure yet.
