And the polyamory bug continued to the very end, intact. That was... interesting. It was also my first playthrough finishing the Cullen romance, so yay! I'll just stick to the headcanon that Solas and her were really... really close friends XD. I wonder if this was a fluke or if what I did was an exploit that can be repeated. Despite being locked into Cullen's romance and it being the only one acknowledged by other characters, Solas's card had changed too.
Spoiler
I WANT that bug, lol!

That's definitely one way to look at it. It was certainly an emotional decision for some people, me included. I've seen several other posters say that they' have little to no attachment to Stroud, so it wan't a difficult choice for them at all.
The point is that the wording was intentionally left vague and that I think it's assumed by most players that there will be no opportunity to rescue them. That's why it would be surprising and a potentially really fun option. Exactly because it's unexpected.
Of course, I say this with the idea that it might be an option that you would have to work for. If it automatically happened, or they were really heavy handed about getting you to take the quest, that would be pretty blah, you're right.
I was sad about leaving someone behind but I also like that it happened and that it was left vague. I'm doubting we'll ever get to see the person we left behind in the real world under normal circumstances again, but I'm also seeing a lot of possibilities with the character as well. Everyone in Skyhold marvels at your survival when you return from the Fade. It's something that hasn't been done since the time of the evil Magisters, and because the Magisters apparently only became corrupted into Darkspawn when they entered the Golden City I'm thinking that, if the character survives that encounter with Nightmare and just keeps away from the Black City, for the first time we'll be allowed at least a glimpse of what truly happens when a physical being lives in the Fade for a long period of time. It is clear that spirits can survive in the physical world if they try hard enough and have people to guide them. Whoever is left behind as the sort of guinea pig might theoretically be able to do the same. We also know Cole can somehow be made more human in the physical world - so will the person we left behind end up becoming more of a spiritual entity as well? Almost god-like? Dagna would have a field day - she was just about ready to carve a chunk right out of you when you returned so she could test it. Imagine how excited she'd be to take 'samples' from someone who's survived a year or more in the Fade, LOL.

Does anyone know how many templars are there in Kinloch Hold before the Broken Tower, how many got killed & how many are there in the Gallows?

Hot headed, passionate, but a really good soul actually. A bit Cassandra-like in term of hit then think (say then think). Heavily prejudiced person. She was loyal to her friends & can be very gentle.
Still, I really like her from The Calling & not really like her from DA:I.
That's how I see her anyway... ![]()

Well, I think Flemeth is pretty safe in that regard. She has always been consistent, in terms of her...progression? I don't even know if we can really even apply the term to her, but whatevs.
And dear lord, Fiona....from her, I expected a lot more anger issues and a lot less of stupid.

The only thing I can think of is Cullen's story from wicked grace when he mentions 30 templars and 70 mages (I think). We really have no idea when or where he was referring to though. It just didn't seem like a very Kirkwall story to me. *shrug*

I guess we can just head canon that she mellowed out more in her old age. She didn't get enough screentime to do much though.

In this case, she did get much more stupidity in her old age. She's not the Einstein of Thedas in The Calling but I'm quite sure she was reasonably intelligent in the book. ![]()

Agreed!
And those wondering what the break-up scenes are...
(Again a Warning: Tissues maybe needed)
You know, what I love about that last one especially, sad as it is, is that he never says a single word, but you can see everything in his face. That whole scene, actually, never fails to impress me with just how advanced stuf like that is getting in video games now.
I may have said this before, once or twice.

So whoever gets left behind in the Fade would be essentially the inverse of Cole - a physical being in the spirit world. That's really interesting!

Agree. Although, Cam said time and again that the mage/templar conflict would be resolved early in the game, i.e., at Redcliffe/Therinfal, so hopefully, even after all the changes we've seen since then, the "resolved" part remains true.Praying not only to Mythal but also Andraste that this subplot is really over and done and out case closed goodbye, because if I have to go one more game being forced to choose sides in this circular false dilemma over and over and over, I may have a nervous breakdown of Alistair-levels, running across town with my underpants on my head, screaming about cheese.
There is so much more that can be done with this universe than just rehash the same straw man game in/game out. This subplot needs to goooooooOOoooo.

In The Gallows....100 templars, maybe around 400 mages? I'm pretty sure it might have been the biggest in the Marches.

Based upon the timing right now, I honestly think they should keep within the present, give or take a few years, cause I think they have some positive momentum going on right now in Thedas. That said, I too think we need to step away from the South, and even Laidlaw said he wants to go north. My guess is Tevinter/around that area for the next installment.
I doubt either the one in the Fade is dead or the Weisshaupt one is dead.
Oh I definitely think they will (and should) tie up some of the loose ends in southern Thedas sooner rather than later. There is clearly more to tell with Solas and Flemeth at the very least, as well as the whole 'cure for the Taint' thing (also I still seriously want to know what the deal is with Sandal, Makerdammit!). I'm just hoping against hope that all that can be resolved without breaking my existing PCs, and my heart, into itty bitty pieces. ![]()

I really want to know what happened with Sandal and Bodahn as well. I thought for sure he's be an option to recruit for crafting and enchantments. Speaking of which, I forgot to unselect Dagna when I started my current game. Does she show up no matter what? What happens if you never help her study magic in Origins? Who does your enchanting for you at Skyhold?

Not surprised. She seemed to be determined enough to go study her magical theory even if the Warden had not helped her.
Guess that this girl will go far...
