They also said they weren't going to reveal all the companions. While that could mean less Follower Fridays, it could simply mean more characters. Important NPC's, perhaps?

This is just as assumption on my part, but I think the Follower Friday's are reveals for characters that are not up on the Dragon Age Inquisition main website. Because both Varric and Cassandra are up on that website already, it makes me think they won't actually have a dedicated Follower Friday, and because Morrigan is there, it makes me think that other NPC's might have one.
It's all just guesswork, really.

I'm not sure if they'd be able to come with us all the time. Perhaps for important main quest missions they might visit us at camp to give us more information. Also, we should be careful in assuming that the hooded figure is, indeed Leliana. It's possible that that figure is simply one of the agents the Inquisitor sent out to set up the camp you're in. Personally, I'm leaning towards it being Leliana, but I'm not one hundred percent sure.
I didn't think we were counting April, since it should be today. And in just a matter of hours.
And we should get to know new companion in an hours, which will leave us with 5 unknown. And 5 months

They've said that they won't feature all the companions. They've stated repeatedly that there are 9 companions. They've already featured three. (Yes, two were before "follower friday" but they were still featured-character kit and all) There are 6 more, Not all of which will be featured. /Math done

I have been wondering this morning if "follower" and "companion" are, in fact, NOT interchangeable in the Inquisition.

I'm assuming it means they are based at camp with us and we can discuss matters with them there....but who knows....I seem to recall someone say they saw Leliana out in the field with the Inquisitior; so maybe?
