I am also working on a cruel/depressing Cullen fic...my Inquisitor is majorly screwed up.  Sorta like me in my 20's, but waaaaaaay more screwed up (if that is even possible).  Maybe it's the winter or something...why are we all going dark?

That being said, I LOVE dark, angsty, sad, bittersweet stuff so if you guys have been writing that kinda stuff, I would read it!  I love the feeling of my heart being torn completely out and all that...makes me feel alive!!!!!!!

seems appropriate...

Yeaaaaah I know that. The thing is now everytime I see a piece of artwork (Cullen), I just want to write something cruel. Actually I start to think that I must have loathed him so to make him experience bad stuffs... like major death. Blah!

Say, your arm's OK? Nitric Acid in high dose is not... very good for health.

I think he may had simply been too big for most to handle...besides I only posted Fenris since I know Arti loves him, lol.

I need fanart of this...or a fic...a fic about them getting stuck in a blizzard and they have to..do things to get warm... but then it gets worse and those activities no longer keep them warm and in the end one of them dies or both...

Or...if I'm writing this, it will end with Cassandra yelling at them outside the door "ARE YOU TWO QUITE DONE WITH YOUR DRAMA KINK WE HAVE WORK TO DO!" Then they just walk out of his office where quizzie summoned a blizzard.

What? I only write comedy and happy stories.

Just a drop...so a wee blister. Didn't melt any bones or anything!

And yes, I have a baaaaad cruel streak when it comes to writing.  The Alistair/Roland/Cousland love triangle I was obsessed with for a while started to get really dark...so i took a break...go back to it now and again and wonder who the hell I was so angry at...

Nah, I'm just having a sh!tty day, and am channeling it into my fics.

And plus, I've been putting a lot of energy and emotion into a Despair demon fic that is just draining me.

Aww, I was just teasing about how dark the tone was tonight. *hugs*

It will certainly not end with a "happy" ending. I use angst in a lot of my fics, but never without any lightness at some point. This will be a dark fic meant for only mature readers...I need a happy song...

It makes me wonder, are Demons still plaguing him? Are his nightmares simply... in his head (his memory replaying in his dreams), or is him facing demons each nights?

I think it's just nightmares from his torture at Kinloch - he mentions "sometimes I feel as if I'm back there" during his episodes. Although all people in Thedas (except for dwarves) dream in the Fade while sleeping, I think it's mages who are more likely to be approached by bad spirits while dreaming due to their strong connection to the Fade and spirits would need to be summoned/commanded unwillingly into a host to be able to affect Cullen. I can't be sure, though. At the very least I'd think Cole or Solas would be able to sense something wrong hovering around Cullen.

Cullen's placed his faith in the wrong people before and had a lot of anger in the past, but in Inquisition he very much knows who he is and what he stands for despite all that. He doesn't always know which path to take and needs a push in the right direction, but as long as you don't straight-up order him back onto lyrium his purpose is very clear to him and he's learned to accept who he was ("I know who I am") and grow from it. In that sense he's very much a pure spirit - and I feel like that's why it was hard for Uldred to corrupt him and why it would be hard for any demon to. I don't think a demon has much leverage over him if he's not worrying about faltering. :)

OMFG...11 straight hours of pipetting, got a drop of nitric acid on my arm and that still stings, and my legs are sore from standing non-stop.  Longest day EVER!

So nice to come back to some lovely Cullen (I say as I sip my hot chocolate)... :D

Yay for science! And isn't it the best when you have to do the pipetting in a 96-well, and the machine you are using malfunctions, and your samples get screwed over, and you have to do it all over again?  <_<

Hope your chemical burn will get better soon :)

Anyone gotten this banter on Cullen's hair? Sorry if it's been posted before, but it totally cracked me up:

it's one of my top five all time favorite movies.  I loved it cause when I go dark, I go really dark so...I get it.   Also, I listened to a lot of Tool in my 20's...you know, "I'm praying for rain, praying for tidal waves"...that sorta thing.  Plus...the music is gorgeous in that film!!

Did anyone get the sense that they rushed through this whole lyrium thing? I mean we've been speculating on what would happen to him for years if he got off the blue stuff, so maybe that's why it feels so rushed. But it's like they give us a couple cut scenes and then we just assume it's resolved and he's super okay? Like so many things in the game, it just seemed to lack consequence and follow-up. Another example would be the decision regarding Bull's Chargers in his (Bull's) personal quest. It's like you make the decision and then... nothing.

Just more disappointing with Cullen because I loves him so. Could've been such a moving story.

The ending was just... wow. And yeah, that's pretty dark LOL I don't know why I would've expected less with that director.

Tool  I had a few friends go to a concert way back when and they said Maynard just like hid behind a speaker the whole time lol

YES. YES. YES. I completely agree. I literally kept waiting for him to die or something and nothing ever happened. He either got happy (if a little worried) if you gave it to him or pissed if you didn't. That annoyed me so much.

Edit: They set it up so well to be a really traumatizing story, and then....nothing.... Idek if it was really worth it to include it.

I'll just put this here, my drabble after reading this beautiful artwork...

A Charred Coin

please don't hesitate to give any input, positive or negative... I'm still trying to improve my writing.

Well... I think listening to Mahler's Funeral March while reading this was a bad idea...  :(

Well written, though :) And the emotion of the scene is very well conveyed. Grammar needs a little work, but you're doing well :)

I just feel like there is no repercussion to convincing him to stay off it.  I mean, if he stays on, he is angry with himself and may lose his memories if he doesn't get off it later.  But if he stays off it, he is happy aside from some nightmares?  Too easy, i agree.  I feel like...something more shouldla been at stake, or at least presented as if the decision has some deep impact on his life.  But, at the same time, some folks read more into it and they DO feel that...I just need the game to be more explicit for me, personally, about those type of consequences...

Yea like what if he had pretended to be getting better, but then you're walking to your quarters alone one day and see him stumble and fall and struggle to get back up not realizing you saw the whole thing.

Yes. That and leaving the Order behind. But then.. we've talked about that before. They only  had so many words I guess, so now it's all tied up and tidy. :brushes hands:

All I know is next time I'm going to ask the team what the story to environment ratio is. Because DAI was definitely 1:100.
