Oh I am quite wordy myself. I just found everyone to be really annoyed or...I can't even really describe the feeling. It's fun discussing all of this in a safe place, so I'm in the same boat with you XD. Regardless, we have not seen a story DLC for DA:I so I don't think we should be all "WOE TO ME!" just yet, lol.

Are you kidding? I think this discussion/debate is great! It's good to put these issues/thoughts out there. Plus, squee fests can only go so far before it becomes mindless or dull. The Cullen thread didn't get this size off fanart, squeeing and gushing alone. Discouraging this sort of talk is counterproductive and only fills the thread with shallow and/or censored posts. It's all about getting the balance right.

The game isn't perfect and that needs to be put out there in order for future improvements to be made.

Yeah, but it also doesn't make sense that no one ever asked him. He's been in Kirkwall the whole freaking time. And he works for the Divine. No one wanted to hear what actually happened with Meredith, until the Divine's right hand came asking questions three years later?

Sigh. This is one of my fave rants, so I'll stop there.

Yah I'm not even getting started on how Meredith can so easily be swept under the rug, handwaved by Lambert and the Divine and the whole fandom as nothing but a raving lunatic on sparkly drugs, left in the courtyard for four years because what nobody cares that her corpse is still there??? etc, or I'll be here all night. Let it go, I sing to myself, let it gooooo.

Who me? Blaming you for getting me hooked on a new violinist...NOOOOOOOOO...

Have you listened to her original stuff? It's just as good!

Very similar to Lindsey Stirling...which is why I really like them both!

She was clueless about Hawke's involvement. Thought she was behind it, til Varric told her otherwise. That Hawke had planned it all since Ferelden. *snort*

Hawke deserves the evil mustache and bowl hat for such ingenuity that she had the whole thing planned like seven years in advance. :P

Then Cassandra would have known much more about what happened, then. She was clueless about Hawke's involvement. Thought she was behind it, til Varric told her otherwise. That Hawke had planned it all since Ferelden. *snort*

Make sense. Still, I can't imagine Cass not wanting to have a talk with the guy who was second in command of the templars during critical moments. I mean it's easier to get the info that Cullen's the Knight Captain who were there at that time than "the Champion has a friend named Varric".

That's exactly our point. It doesn't make sense that they didn't talk to Cullen.

My Likes are gone again, but Indeed, that *is* why it's called a discussion thread. A little good old fashioned on-topic discussion about Cullen is rather appropriate.

LOL Yeah, I always imagine Hawke getting a good laugh hearing that one from Varric!

Absolutely! It certainly helps people articulate what didn't feel right about the game, which is something that myself, and others, couldn't initally put our finger on until we were able to discuss it with people. Plus, it's good to get other peoples views on the subject.

This is kind of my first time being exposed to trying to help Bioware improve their games...as in I never saw the process before since I wasn't a member before I got hyped up about DA:I. I think I am being pretty noobish at the moment so...

Just an off-topic question when Lola's here: do you actually working for Bioware? Just curious

I heard someone mentionning that if I understood well what was said.

Yeeeah, I found it really interesting that they confirmed that Meredith turned into lyrium... but not what they did with the statue... We used to joke about the templars breaking pieces off and huffing them (Lola's phrase!). Maybe they actually did!

Viv insulted my Dalish mage and now has to wear the plaid of shame

(honestly, it was a drop and I just realized what it looked like when I put it on her)

I also use really ugly hats to punish Viv.  :P

Blackwall/Varric have banter about Meredith's statue.

Apparently no one is brave enough to "poke Meredith."

I digress, I can understand why nobody would want to touch the red lyrium crazy lady statue, much less try to move it.

Oh, I wasn't having a pop or anything. This is my first time following any games development too, I just feel that it's good to get these sort of gripes with the game(s) out in the open because constructive criticism and feedback is essential to the future of a franchise... or I like to think so anyway.

Hmmm I actually imagine the contrary. When a seeker comes, templars know that it's bad. Bad things happened in Kirkwall, it'll be weird to not meet the person leading the templar as the first source.

Yes, but Cassandra is not actually going to Kirkwall in the authority of a Seeker investigating the Templars, she's there specifically to hear the whole story for Justinia's sake. Varric's interrogation happens after the war has broke out in full (a mere couple months before Inquisition starts), at this point Cassandra has already unofficially left the Seekers after the breaking of the Accord, and is building resources to kickstart an Inquisition in case Justinia's conclave fails.

That's why I think she may have gone to Varric first - because at this point the war is going on in ful, the Templars have broken away from the Chantry, and she's in the city under the banner of the Chantry, not the Seekers. Going straight to the Templars may have got her run out of the city or engaged in battle before she got any answers, so she may have investigated around and found a safer source of information in the local storyteller infamously associated with both the Champion and the mage terrorist. After speaking with Varric, then, she might have decided this Cullen guy doesn't sound too crazy, he's still around, hasn't joined the Templar rebellion, maybe he's worth reaching out to.

It's a theory, anyway.

LMAO, I wish! You're not the first person to ask me that.

I don't work for them, I have a YouTube channel (nothing huge, still just a small fry), i've been following DAI's development obsessively for years and started making videos about it, in the process I got friendly with a few of the devs which enabled me to get a glimpse at what was happening behind the scenes... they did send me some free DAI swag though, which was a bonus!

Out of curiosity, who said that I worked for them? I should probably clear that misunderstanding up.

Nah, I can't see how the Divine won't send either Cass or Leliana since the very morrow of Kirkwall Rebellion. During Seb Vael's personal quest we met Leliana who inform Hawke that the Divine is highly interested & follow closely Kirkwall's situation. After the Kirkwall Rebellion it only make sense that she'll send one oh the Hand to come to place directly.

I just can't see why either Cass or Leli will avoid talking to Cullen at the very same year the rebellion happen. Varric's only been caught by Cass 2 years later.

Mmhm! I know the Devs said that they listened to all of us fans, but did they really? Will DA4 be the best game in the series or will we be forever chasing a magical unicorn in the form of a video game? If one thing Bioware excels at is their story/character development. That is what made people fall in love with their games, why are they seemingly moving away from what made them great. I don't want another Skyrim, I don't want another Oblivion...I want an amazing narrative with great characters. We have seen Bioware deliver those things before...why are they stopping now?
