He's definitely my favourite romance... well, I say that but Cullen and Alistair come joint first in terms of personality and swoony worthyness etc but DA:O implemented Alistair's romance better than Cullen's because he got more screentime and dialogue etc than Cullen did, plus he was a companion so he was with us the entire time.

Yeah, exactly, I was a bit sad that Cullen wasn't going to be a companion. Traveling with my LI always reveals more about their character to me and makes me love them even more.

Her comments on everyone are pretty funny. "That thing just ain't right" when referring to Cole. I only had her in my party once, but these comments are hilarious. Any interesting banter with particular companions?

Depends on what you find interesting. But really, she's hilarious with pretty much everyone, it's just Sera. I usually bring her along with Bull and Dorian, those three is just too much fun.

If you're more into listening her pissing people off while making fun of them, bring Solas, Vivienne or Cass.

I've been...avoiding as best I could. Couldn't get into the game until very recently (because, finals) and I heard rumors of Godly essences, but didn`t go any further. No worries, I am not mad. I mean, this is inevitable on a forum

Oh god yes, nobles are boring. At least we have the human mages , they fit quite will in Cullen (and also Cass) romance.

 

 

I wouldn't say boring. It all depends on how you play them out in-game and in your head. Playing a Trevelyan can have a very interesting spin since it's spelled out that he/she is the youngest of the clan (and therefore not head of house). Take a couple of mine for example:

 

• Raven Trevelyan is a dual-dagger rogue who is the black sheep of her family. She always shirked any form of responsibility and was more at home with the "seedier" sorts than with the nobility. She never gave a crap about appearances or what anybody else thought about her. She found herself at the Conclave against her will (*sigh* family) and it took her a long time to come to terms with being IQ. She thought Cullen was a huge buzzkill for quite a while until that boy just got under her skin. Seeing what others thought of her as Envy!Trevelyan really got to her. It wasn't real, but it was still a punch in the gut. 
• Rhiannon Trevelyan is a perfect "youngest daughter" from a noble house and is all about duty and sacrifice. She was training to become a templar before the Conclave. When she gets the chance, she wants to complete her training, even knowing what that means (lyrium addiction). She is willing to make the sacrifice in the name of helping others and furthering the Inquisition. Of course, she uses a sword and shield. She and Cullen will be working to break the "lyrium leash" together after the Inquisition is no longer needed.
• Theodosia "Theo" Trevelyan is a brash 2h warrior. Being the youngest of her house, she was "daddy's little girl." She wanted to be just like him, and thus he indulged in training her to use a greatsword. She also began to pick up on some of his "rougher" qualities. As she grew up, she became very headstrong and even went against her family to do some mercenary work. This is where she ended up at the Conclave. She is also ashamed of her given name and tries to hide it at all costs. When someone does find out, and uses it, she throws them down a hill. 

I hope that paints a better picture of how a noble doesn't have to be boring. It's all on how you play it! Of course, it would have been cool if we could have played a Joe Nobody, but I work with what we're given! All three of these girls will fit in quite well with the Cullen romance. I enjoy non-mages the most!

I'm currently testing out Sera, Solas, and Dorian in the same party. Three levels of snark and sniping, so far it's funny, especially when Dorian asked Sera if she cut her own hair...

Even though we couldn't in DA2 it didn't feel so lonely because the environments were so self contained and someone usually had something to say about whatever was going on, lol.

That's not so bad but it's too much of a headcanon for me. It's the third game in a row where all humans are nobles, and... well, I liked Hawke's story and background, it was something at least. But I've never played anything but a mage in DAO or DAI if I played human. I don't feel any connection to the non-mages human nobles, they're just weird beings for me. The only one I can really enjoy playing and feel immersed in the story are the human mages. I guess it's just me. And I just like mages that much and mundanes are nothing compared to them, lol. 

 

It's not even that they (the nobles) themselves are boring, but they're just what everyone expect of a hero. A kisa, and it's just a big nope for me. That's why I also never play as a warrior (aside from hating that class mechanins I mean).

Ugh, the War Table missions were the worst way to address the Inquisitor's background, like for Lavellans.  Wipe out your clan based on the wrong choice (which can happen at least three times)?  No problem- no one cares about it, either.

Lol right. I don't like that it's possible to exhaust companions banter and that they take forever to trigger, because hey, this world is huge and it gets lonely with no music or banter sometimes haha

I'm doing my second fem Inquisitor with Cullenmance after taking a break to play with Dorian. The first time around I did not pick the "Are you with anyone?" heart option for RP reasons, but I went ahead this time. Man that was great. When you ask if anyone caught his interest (in Kirkwall) and he says "Not in Kirkwall," with just a very slight emphasis on "Kirkwall" I just about died. That is the smoothest flirt I think he does in the whole game. Way to go Cullen.

Agreed.  My romance playthrough with Cullen had my Lavellan wait until after Perseverance to initiate his romance, and she picked that "Are you with anyone?" flirt right before she asked to "talk to him alone".  It was perfect.
