I loved Fable before I found the DA franchise, LOL!

Oooh I loved Fable! Especially that Simon Pegg had a pretty big part in the third one!

That's why I never go full completionist until I make my final canon protagonist to be imported over, lol.

I guess I just figure with the DA Keep it doesn't really matter what you do because you can take all your best decisions across the different games and make your ultimate world state.

People are boring. Dragons are better. That's why they call it Dragon Age not People Age.

Nah, my two cents.

You can go romance a Dragon and I'll take Cullen then!  :P

Yeah, but I like to do a completionist for my final canon playthrough because by that point all the patches and dlc/expansions have come out, modders have their improvements added in and the game by that point has generally improved compared to it's initial release. I always enjoy that final playthrough the most because by I know who/what I want my Inquisitor to be, I've perfected his/her appearance, I know who I want to romance and what my favourite dialogue choices and outcomes are etc.

The second one was definitely my favorite, although Fable I was pretty good too. I only ever played up to Fable III though because I think the series started to take a different course and the later games didn't look as good as the originals.

To be honest, how many people really reads ALL war table quest?

I read them all (ALL), and if the quest is given out as a letter or note I imagine my IQ at her desk reading it along with the documents to be discussed in the next war room meeting, and then I picture her and the advisors discussing the matter, each of the advisors voicing what's on their card, the others reacting to it, what my IQ would say in response or how she would come to a decision, one or another of the advisors questioning her decision or rolling their eyes and IQ either explaning her reasoning or brushing them off depending on her mood, the chosen advisor going all busy busy let's do this!! etc. It takes forever to get through each table quest because of that. That's probably why my main playthrough is like a million hours long, half of it is spent roleplaying the war table. :P

Yeah, the second one was the best... although I couldn't get back into them after discovering DA:O because it set the bar for all other fantasy/medieval based games for me after that.

I was so disappointed with that encounter! He didn't even help me kill the Imshael after he'd been so intent on doing so! I was really looking forward to running into him too!

I was so mad at the fact that he didn't get to personally kill Imshael, after all the business in TME. Michel deserved that kill, it wasn't mine to take away from him. Also kinda sad that Imshael suddenly became such an inept demon that he didn't even have a decent offer to make my Quizzie. I was so creeped out by him in the book, in the game he was just a generic rambling demon.

And I wanted to talk to Michel! I wanted to ask him all the questions, wanted my Quizzie to understand him, to have a reason to give a disgraced Chevalier a second chance at life, to voice a vote of confidence in him... not just AGENT ACQUIRED and a quick "hey sup thanx for everything" back at Skyhold. Bummer.

Same.

For a while I thought DAI was gonna crack it, especially from the moment we reached Haven, through to the first few hours at Skyhold, that was my favourite part of the game because it really felt like I was on this epic adventure, but by the time you reach the Adamant Fortress/Abyss quest the game gradually starts to lose it's momentum until it completely falls on it's arse from the Arbor Wilds onwards (although I did like the Temple of Mythal segment). However, with DA:O I was in a constant state of "omg, this is amazing!!!"

Dark Horse comics trilogy. Sten tells Alistair that the qunari know of a different version of Calenhad's story: instead of the knight in shining armor who unified Ferelden with valor and heroism that history tells about, Calenhad was some random nobody with wild ambitions who maneuvered himself into the right opportunities and drank the blood of a dragon to gain unnatural strength and power to conquer the tribes that would be Ferelden by force - basically, he became a Reaver and wrecked everyone's sht.

It's also implied that the je ne sais quoi all his descendents have, that almost unnatural charisma and pull they have over people comes from the remnants of magical dragon blood in them. Alistair literally has ~animal magnetism~ pulling us to him. :P

I know. I even cried at the end of DA:O, and it is not easy for a video game to get people that emotionally connected to its characters and world. Even now the graphics don't faze me while I'm playing because the story quality overshadows it all. I still put in over 100 hours every time I play.

*busts into the thread clumsily*

Ok this is probably (definitely) the wrong place to post this but I need halp!  I've commissioned an artist to make a tarot card for my Inquisitor but I know diddly squat about tarot so I have no clue what card to pick.  I went to this website http://www.biddytarot.com/and a cursory look through makes me think Star, Strength or Queen of Cups but...

Is anyone here well-versed in this kind of thing, who wouldn't mind talking a grumpy old skeptic through her options?

In general, my Quizzy is a 'people person', she's compassionate, kind, gentle, she's Andrastian, she wasn't particularly ambitious pre-Conclave, she's a goody two shoes and she loves sweets and dancing.  Weaknesses, she's an open book and wears her heart on her sleeve (she's terrible at Wicked Grace), she doubts herself and feels like she is not qualified to lead and make decisions, and she's a big softie.  Also, Cullen.  Cullen is a biiiig weakness. ;)

It kind of annoys me that there are so few really good fantasy RPGs. DA, the Elder Scrolls, and Fable are the only ones of the genre that I've ever invested a lot of time into. I wish more people would make kick a$$ RPGs. Hopefully Bioware is setting the bar now and other companies will start making more. Also hopefully Bioware is making (and will continue to make) a lot of revenue off of DAI so that they'll have a lot more flexibility with the next DA.

I liked Alistair's romance apart from how he acts about sex, the whole "please wait till im ready" thing was cute till he wanted sex & disapproved if the Warden wasn't ready yet, wasn't keen on that
