I'm pretty torn right now actually- on the topic of lockpicking and thieves. I basically always play a rogue my first go. That's because my first playthrough is -the- playthrough I canon, because it's the one I'm not trying to meta-game. I play a rogue because I can't stand not to be able to open all chests and lockpick all doors and it's such a hassle having Varric do it, and you inevitably miss one before you get your rogue.

This. I always, always play as a rogue first run through. It's my mini-me. Which... kinda sounds weird...

The only other male character I'd like to romance is Varric. Not the very interested in Solas, DHMG or Warden as LIs. And definitely not Cole.
But maybe I'll change my mind when we get to know them...

Ages ago, Gaider forever ruled out the prospect of Cole as an LI, so good news! Personally, I think it'll be a while before I even think about accepting Cole as a party member, probably my third playthrough.

Ages ago, Gaider forever ruled out the prospect of Cole as an LI, so good news! Personally, I think it'll be a while before I even think about accepting Cole as a party member, probably my third playthrough.

 

Cole will be spending lots of time in camp in my playthroughs. I don't see him going anywhere with my inquisitor as long as Varric and Sera are available.

My dad is WAY older than him, so it's not a problem for me He's (Beardy) probably only 15 or so years older than me.

Lol! Yeah, I'm in my early 20's so it makes sense for me!

I had the hots for the likes of Alan Rickman, Anthony Hopkins, Vincent Price, etc. when I was much younger than that. Think it's more a matter of personal taste/perspective than age groups, 'cuz we've got people in here younger than 20 who thought Beardy was attractive. And I've seen people in other threads who think -Cullen- himself is too old if he's 30 something.

You know, for all the claims that the LIs won't be conventionally attractive, each and every one of the characters are hitting my 'this is pleasing to my eye' marks. Except Solas, Cole and Sera. Sorry, honeys. When it comes to aesthetics I just love me some angles and nice, strong features. (I do think they're cute, though! Cute and adorable is just different to 'I want to touch your face'.)

Not weird at all! Everyone has their personal preferences! I normally dislike facial hair beyond stubble and Robert Downey Jr, but beardy Grey Warden seems to be an exception here. (As was bearded Riker in Star Trek.  )

You're very lucky! I'm not into ladies (although that won't stop me from eventually romancing them), and of the guys I only like Cullen and Beardy. Oh well. The others are just massive turn offs for me.

I think the beard also completely throws me off too. I have a distinct hatred of beards, very, very distinct beyond a nicely trimmed stubble or goatee/mustache mix. Anything longer than 3 inches of your chin? Forget it.

 

It's the opposite for me; that's when beards go from NOPE to Hmmmm Hence why I find mustache guy just... *shudders*

I would love it if Cullen taught that specialization, but I think it's just as likely that Cassandra might, given she's a Seeker herself and likely their skills are very similar to the Templars. Right now I'm thinking that if companions teach specializations - a la DAO - then for the warriors it'll be Cassandra = Templar, Iron Bull = Reaver, Grey warden = Champion

Re: LIs -- Outside of Cullen I'm currently most longing for Grey Warden and Varric. Hells yes I dig older men and DAT BEARD. DAT JAW. DAT CHEST HAIR! DAT VOICE!!!

Solas and DHMG... I am keeping an open mind since I think both are more likely than my preferred non-Cullen LIs. And I find both to be attractive, they've just yet to grab at my attention with personality/story/concept art like Cullen, Varric and GW. All of which is ultimately more important to me than looks. That and VOICE. I already know Cullen and Varric do it for me, but waiting to hear the rest with great anticipation. I'm very audio fixated.
