I'm curious because I kept him alive and reinstated him into the Order in my imported save.

Not to sound like the proverbial "stick in the mud," but his scar doesn't look curved enough to be a bite mark.
It certainly looks to have been caused by something rough rather than clean...maybe a claw? However, based on his past profession I would think sword would make the most sense. Unless someone smacked him upside the head with a tree branch? Or he tripped over his new robe-thingy and fell on a tree branch?
I don't see it either. But damn, that mouth. ![]()

I think you can make a good case for going either Templar or mage no matter your race and class, honestly. It depends on the personality and back story you give that inquisitor. My dalish both sided with the mages because I felt they'd be a lot more distrustful of the Templars with their historical chantry connection. My dwarf rogue will side with the Templars. There is no one way to play things.
The one cross I see as relatively illogical is a mage who favored the rebellion or otherwise wants to remain free of a restrictive circle system, but chooses the Templars. I can see someone making that choice, but it would be hard making those consistent with each other. I think this would especially be the case if you want to romance anyone as a mage and expect it to last past the end of the Inquisition. "Sorry, honey, the rules at the circle they're assigning me to allow conjugal visits once a month for two hours. That's if the Knight-Commander doesn't take offense at something I do or say because, gee, they'd never consider someone potentially threatening who wielded the power I did as Inquisitor and Herald of Andraste (if they didn't consider that completely blasphemous) and decide to remove that privilege. Oh, and children? Only if you want the chantry to take them." This would be more the case with Cullen as I can easily imagine Templars resenting him if he breaks the lyrium addiction.

So, in DA2 Hawke can tell Cullen to either reinstate Samson into the order, or have him sentenced to death with the other blood mages etc, this leads to all of them being strung up in the Gallows by Meredith as a warning to anyone thinking about betraying the Order. I'd would've assumed that if you opted to have him killed then he died, but clearly in DAI this isn't the case, does Samson ever mention how he managed to cheat death? Alternatively, does Cullen ever mention Samson escaping, or show any confusion because he'd seen him die? Or is it never mentioned?
I'm curious because I kept him alive and reinstated him into the Order in my imported save.
Hmmm... I don't remember the tile in the keep, there's one? If not, maybe Retcon again like Ser Pounce-a-lot's master...

There's no tile in the keep about that. There is one for Keran, but not for Samson.

Do we actually see his body hung? Or just a comment from Cullen or things like that?

Oh man..... I ended up sacrificing Hawke in the Fade. It was really tough for me to do it since well after all it's my Hawke who went through all those crazy adventures in Kirkwall. I did feel that it was fitting since Hawke can finally feel like a hero and actually do something that has a positive effect for once. However seeing the look on Varric's face when I told him was hard to watch, and to top it off he has to tell Merrill about what happened! Just when I thought I the emotional parts were over, I was faced with a terrible truth about Blackwall......
May I ask when Blackwall's revelation occurs? I would assume it is sometime after the drinks, but there are a lot of things that you guys talk about and I'm sitting there being all "What?! When did this happen?!". The dog story did traumatize me though.
I sacrificed my Hawke too...It was just the end of her story. For the fun of it, I sacrified Stroud too, but it wasn't as dramatic I found. I thought that Hawke would have a more important role than to accompany the Wardens. So Hawke it was.

It happens after the dog story. If you go into the barn there's something next to the griffon thing.

IIRC it's after both Halamshiral & Adamant. You can't activate the revelation before.

Ahh ok. Thanks! I was getting worried. I seem to be playing this game in reverse. I swear...it was really all those freaking shards! Anyhow, I was too busy replaying the romance scene with Cullen to back to talk to Blackwall.
. Will get to that soon enough.

I heard it mentionned that some of the companions get together if you don't romance them, i.e. Iron and Dorian. Any truth to it? Just curious because Blackwall's been talking about Josie. I think it's funny.

No one else gets together.
That said, Josie and Blackwall's thing was a little creepy, cause Cole makes it sound like he's stalking her.

So this was the first time I did In Hushed Whispers, and its also immediately the last.
I just couldn't enjoy it as much as Champions of the Just.

I had the exact same experience, only the other way around
Though Cole gets an awesome intro with Champions of the Just, I just love Alexius as an antagonist
I am glad to have the choice - definitely increases the replay value of the game ![]()

I usually end up leaving Hawke in the Fade too. My reason though comes down to most of my games have had Alistair as the Warden friend and I would never leave him in the fade. I started a new game with Alistair as King, so I would have one with Hawke not being left behind since I was beginning to feel bad for Varric after all my other games and just seeing how heartbroken he is over the loss of Hawke.

Bull and Dorian did get together in my game. It happens entirely in banter so you have to have them together in your party a lot.

Yeah, I have to do a PT with Alistair as the Warden friend. I chose to give the Wardens another chance, but it doesn't work that well with Hawke.

Ah the feels. Cullen is literally one, pretty much the main one, of the reasons I am getting back into fanfiction haha.
He's the reason I'm getting into it for the first time, ever! I feel - strange. This is the dark side, yes?

Yay, fanficition is so fun
If it's the dark side at least there are cookies, but I don't think it is haha
(though it kind of depends on what you write)

In DA2? Naw you don't see it, he just comments to Hawke about the blood mages (and whoever else you told him to let Meredith deal with) were all strung up in the Gallows, by his tone of voice he's clearly a bit freaked out/disgusted by Meredith's course of action.

I think there's a theory that if you're BFFs with Dorian that he and Bull don't hook up. If you have high enough approval it's apparently not brought up in party banter and in the end-game feast Dorian says he wants to stay with the Inquisition because of your friendship, when he will otherwise mention Bull. I have no idea if this is true or not.
