I think there's a theory that if you're BFFs with Dorian that he and Bull don't hook up. If you have high enough approval it's apparently not brought up in party banter and in the end-game feast Dorian says he wants to stay with the Inquisition because of your friendship, when he will otherwise mention Bull. I have no idea if this is true or not.

 

I think it might be. At least that's what happened in my playthrough. I took Dorian and Bull with me quite frequently, and got plenty of banter between them, but never anything on Dorian's silk undies, etc It may also just be a bug... but I got so tickled when Dorian said he'll hang around the Inquisition b/c of my Quizzy being his BFF

I generally go with the Mages then the Templars. While I played my Hawke to be completely opposed of the whole system on Mages, my Trevelyan does believe Templars ARE important but the whole Circle System needs to be changed. Even though my Trevelyn feels this way I still overlook the Templars each time I play.

Why?

 

To me The whole Mage Story seems more urgent then The Templars story. Plus seeing Red Templars marching on Haven, looks, well much cooler then a bunch of Vints. Not only that I enjoy Cullen’s quest of hunting down “Samson.”  Though I wish Cullen could accompany you to Sarnia’s Quarry and going to Samson’s base was much bigger.

 

Reasons on the side, I feel as though the Inquisition could benefit more from having hundreds of Mages at there disposable then a bunch of broken down Templars.  And of course as an added bonus seeing Vivienne throw a tantrum that I allied with the Mages always brings a smile to my face.

 

Honestly I don’t see the big deal about Ser Barius. I do not find him attractive him any form. Basically he does nothing for me and I do not view him nor put him in a category of rememberable side characters.

 

As for what type of class I play, mage all the way. For starters I have never been one in games to be a front line fighter unless there was no other way and I had to be one. I also find playing a Mage in DA fun and enjoyable. And as a bonus I felt being a Mage and romancing Cullen gave the romance more depth.

 

Here was a man that was tortured by demons summoned by mages. Which in turn made him hate mages for a long time. Now he is on the mend and falls in love with a mage. Its too good to pass up. I suppose in some ways having Cullen fall in love with a mage gives him a bit more in the category of redemption.

 

Not to mention the extra lines of dialogue you get as mage are really good. Especially the conversation prior to the First Kiss.

 

But alas to each their own. Everyone plays differently. Everyone has a different view point. I for one respect that.

I'd read it haha. I think it would be fun to see a smutty side, since most romance ques in the game are so toned down imo. I mean unless you hook up with Bull.

Same here  If he didn't run away, he'd definitely fly into a coughing fit before passing out

This may be old news to you guys but blustersquall on Tumblr does some excellent Cullen smut.  And some nice n fuzzy stories as well.

He couldn't even handle Amell's suggestion we should take this somewhere else. Which I do enough by the way just too see him run off scared. Though, it shows how honorable he is, as he could easily taken advantage of the Warden.

I think of Wayne and her Templar that I think was killed because of his realationship with her. Since according to a developer it could have resulted in death for either him or the Warden if he acted on his feelings.

That's more or less the reasons why I'll be going pro-mage again as my canon playthrough. Don't get me wrong, I did like the pro-templar quest but the pro-mage one felt more urgent because you get to see a small glimpse of what's to come if you fail to beat Corypheus. Granted, the time magic thing initally seemed a bit cheesy, but if that latest Solas theory is anything to go by in regards to Solas' intentions then time magic could actually end up playing a very interesting role. Admittedly both the pro-mage and pro-templar quests could've been better, especially knowing what was cut from both, but they were still both good solid quests. I do feel more sympathy for the Templars than the mages this time around though.

 

Like you, I also prefer to get a little extra screentime with Cullen which is another reason why I'll be going pro-mage, it also adds that extra layer of angst that I feel is otherwise missing from his story arc in DAI, particularly given his backstory from the previous two games, I feel like he kinda needs to face the red templars and those from his past that joined them in order to put to rest that part of his life. He had a lucky escape and I enjoy watching him come to that conclusion.

hmm hopefully this wont affect the modding tools to bad.. cause it seems every time there is a new patch the coders have to "mold" the tools around it...

In DA2? Naw you don't see it, he just comments to Hawke about the blood mages (and whoever else you told him to let Meredith deal with) were all strung up in the Gallows, by his tone of voice he's clearly a bit freaked out/disgusted by Meredith's course of action.

On that note, does anybody know the explanation as to how Stroud survived falling off the dragon in DA:O?

I re-created my Dalish mage with your skin texture brows and they look great on elves too!

Yeah, since that skin texture was originally just for personal use, I made it with just the 3rd female elf head in mind, since I only have elf Inquisitors and that's the elf head I always use. I was glad to see that it worked well for the female human heads as well!

Yeah, I hadn't thought about this, but indeed, that wasn't included in the Keep, was it? Guess Samson sleazed his way out of it somehow.
