I guess it also depends how long it takes them to get all these patches out too.

The thing I like about Cullen's design is he's totally unique. Personally I don't see Russell Crowe or the other guys mentioned, he's way more handsome IMO. UNLESS - does anyone know if he was modeled off of a real person like Male Shep?
I will say that if they do a movie adaptation, I could see Chris Hemsworth pulling it off well with the right haircut (but you just know they'd change it - sigh).
It's possible that Cullen's model is based off several different people.
When I was invited to see the 2013 PAX demo early in London, Cameron Lee told me that they were having issues with Cullen's concept appearance and the artist(s) had made him look old and battle worn (like Zaeed in ME2/ME3), so he went back to them and told them Cullen's rough age range, showed them a whole bunch of pictures and examples of men within his age range (late 20's/early 30's. His words, not mine) along with how Cullen looked in DA2. His final DAI appearance is a direct result of that.
Patches are seperate to DLC though. Most studios will have teams working on patches and teams working on DLC at the same time. Just because they've said their focus right now is on patches doesn't mean DLC isn't in the works, it's just probably so early on in dev they can't really comment on it.
Really? That's handy then!
I meant was the Red Lion the inspiration behind making the Lion helm, the nickname and the colouring (and fur) of his outfit.
That's an interesting idea. Headcannon accepted!!!
Andy Whitfield (RIP
) in Spartacus
Andy was so great in that show...so sad...

Yeah, I cannot think of a single actor that looks like him (not too sure about models). Maybe a nose here, a jawline there, but not the whole spiel ![]()

I am so glad they changed from the original concept. Matt Rhodes is awesome, but that's not Cullen:

On the other hand, his concept for Fenris would have looked awesome in DA 2 ![]()

Agreed but Bethesda's approach comes with its own issues.
The fact that their games are so very mod-friendly completely makes up for it though. I cannot imagine myself playing vanilla Bethesda games at all anymore... I wish DA:I was more mod-friendly...

Debatable. While I love mods as much as the next person when you have a game that on release is so broken you can't progress past certain points in the story or get very far without crashing to desktop I can't help but wonder whether they should focus more on QA and fixing bugs and leave the mod support entirely to post-release.
Does anyone have a video of the Perseverance quest with a male Inquisitor? Are there any differences other than a lack of flirt options?
Question about the 5K celebration, if I want to give original work (fanfic), should it be something that had not been posted to AO3 or FF.Net already?

TBH I never bought a Bethesda game on release, so I am not sure how they played then. Everything I have from them was purchased after all the patches and DLC had been released. So, my vanilla games have always been very stable. As far as DA:I is concerned, I was among the lucky ones on PC that had no issues. I only started getting CDTs when NVidia updated its "optimized: drivers for DA:I
I got the banter bug on my second playthrough, but I can work around that.
I got CTDs with modding Skyrim, though... But you know how that goes (edited cause picture is huge):
Dammit! I wish I made more recordings instead of at "key moments" while playing DA: I. I was going through some of my favorite songs to find material for fan videos, and just realized how much I want to make a video dedicated to the women of Dragon Age using this one. It's perfect. I'll be sure to record everything now on my next PT ![]()
I am on the last legs of my second archer/Cullen playthrough. The first one I just kind of speed through things, so wanted to take a more leisurely thorough play through of the game.,
I just heard that playing as a mage gives you more lines with Cullen. Is that true and can anyone explain the difference in the romance.
thanks
Out of curiosity, what do you have to do to edit it? Is it difficult to capture in-game video on consoles?
If I want to record anything I just hit F10 on the fly since Shadowplay is always running for me. Then I literally just have to drag and drop the file onto my youtube account.

Not that much more line, but you often get completely alternative lines (Cullen acknowledge your being a mage, especially circle mage).
You get more content with Cullen (and his best romance lines in game IMO) if you side with mages in Redcliffe.

Did you try rolling back your drivers? NVIDIA leaves up quite a few old drivers to re-download if you so choose. I can count on one hand the amount of CDT's I've gotten with DA:I in over 100hrs of play, and they were all when I tried rendering at 4k or 8k (YESH 8k) to get screenies. My GPU was like NOPE at the 8k. ![]()
I bought Skryim on release day for ps3. I got about 30hrs in before the game became unplayable. I then threw it out and bought it on the PC and never looked back. I run about 80 graphics/texture/weather/lighting/immersion mods and the game is just as stable as vanilla, maybe better. You get the occasional freeze or CTD, but it's no worse than playing un-modded. Which is great considering the more mods you use, the more risk you run. I don't even want to think of the hours I spent researching load orders and mod compatibilities. Right now I think I've gotten Skyrim running just as pretty as it can be...and I DON'T use ENB! Of course, I go for the cold harsh "realistic" look.
BTW, I've had several people asking me for my list and I would be happy to share if anybody else wants it. Sadly, I wasn't into taking screenies when I played it so I don't have examples. Once the "shiny" wears of DA:I, I will be back in Tamriel and getting screenies.

You should make one with this song! This is my renegade Fem!Shep's theme song:
Love the song...don't ask about the mickey ears tho... ![]()
It's pretty much the same except for the lack of flirt options.
I've got two versions up:
Thanks for this. I've seen Cullen take the lyrium (heartbreaking) but I've never seen the "harsh" approach. I don't know if I can watch it again! His poor face. It's also interesting to see the platonic friendly version, and the different take/animation they used for the "how are you holding up" line. I was wondering about that because I was thinking it was pretty flirty in my versions.
Do they give awards for VO acting? Like a gaming award or something? Greg Ellis deserves it.

Interesting. I like the older/grizzled guy sometimes, but it just wouldn't have been right for Cullen with his background. Even though in DA:O he looked way older than 19/20, but I'm okay with the retcon. I didn't really care for his design in DA2, along with most of the characters. I guess I should be glad there isn't a real-life version of Cullen walking around somewhere...ahem.

That's not the concept art I was referring to, the original in question never saw the light of day... or it hasn't yet anyway. The original concept art aged Cullen to look about 50/60 years old.
I dunno if I find that hot, or sad because he's clearly back on lyrium and it's seemingly caused some interesting side effects/it's been used during foreplay or **** knows what, LOL!

Yeah, he kind of looks uncomfortable right? Cullen + Lyrium = sads.
I wish had I pictures from DA:O and DA2 I could compare, side by side, the "three looks of Cullen...." or "Cullen through the ages"........
