Gotta say, that's the best version I've ever heard of that song.

*side note* does anyone know a good level to be to do The Temple of Dirthamen? I keep getting killed by these two arcane horrors and I'm level 9...I just don't understand.

Who do you have in your party? Sometimes it's not so much the level you are as it's that you have the wrong party for a certain place (or you have a good party but they're not specced right, etc).

Also what difficulty are you playing in? I went into Dirthamen well into the double digits level on Nightmare and still got my arse throughouly kicked because of the weird difficulty spikes.

Ah, Cullen is like wine <3

I feel like him not taking lyrium anymore is actually bringing his youth back, imo, because we already know how damaging the effects of lyrium can be.

As far as negative comments about art - I don't see a problem with someone saying "this makes me feel uncomfortable but I respect the artwork".  Art can have positive and negative effects on people, it's all part of the craft.

Stupid question but I can't figure out how to directly link to a blog post in Tumblr.  I know how to grab the blog's address, but how to do an individual post?  Just want to make sure I do it right because I also posted a pic from greendelle and I also figured because it was signed, that was sufficient credit.

It depends a bit if you're on their blog or on your dashboard. Easiest way is to click on the date/time of the post. Sometimes clicking on the number of notes, although that adds the #notes anchor tag to the end of the URL. On your dash you can click on the upper right corner of a post (altho I dunno if that's just an xkit thing).

Question about the 5K celebration, if I want to give original work (fanfic), should it be something that had not been posted to AO3 or FF.Net already?

ideally, it should be something relatively new.

I think it's the party. Solas/Sera/Bull and my character is a mage. I am playing on normal. Everything in this temple is "equally matched" with me but obviously not lol.

Lol wait am I confused I thought Inquisition was supposed to be years after the events in Origins and DAII

Agree, I didn't see anyone being disrespectful, altho ninetozero's general point is also a good one, that the artist didn't ask us to critique her art. This conversation also underscores why it's good to keep a link to the artist's post, which in this case provided the context.

Yeah, I cannot think of a single actor that looks like him (not too sure about models). Maybe a nose here, a jawline there, but not the whole spiel :)

I am so glad they changed from the original concept. Matt Rhodes is awesome, but that's not Cullen:

zAeAr35.png

On the other hand, his concept for Fenris would have looked awesome in DA 2 :D

I always thought that he reminded me of Jai Courtney. I posted a pic a few days ago

Poor doggy. Hope he feels better. He has a great pet parent: a lot of people wouldn't bother paying that much.

Yeah, your party is pretty bad for this - you have three rangers cramped in a tight closed space, and Bull who's not a tank unless you make him one. You may want to leave the temple and come back with Cassandra (better if she has points in the Templar tree) and Blackwall (with points in Champion) for tanking, Cole if he's specced into Assassin, and only yourself as a mage (if you have the full Spirit tree, otherwise substitute Cole for Solas, or whoever in your party has taken enough points in that tree to have Revival, Dispel and Mind Blast).

Your plan should generally be your tanks drawing aggro from the ghouls while you focus on debuffing/stunning the Arcane Horrors. Once the meleer grunts are down, your tanks should be free to hack onto the Horror without taking damage from every side.

Did you try rolling back your drivers? NVIDIA leaves up quite a few old drivers to re-download if you so choose. I can count on one hand the amount of CDT's I've gotten with DA:I in over 100hrs of play, and they were all when I tried rendering at 4k or 8k (YESH 8k) to get screenies. My GPU was like NOPE at the 8k.

I bought Skryim on release day for ps3. I got about 30hrs in before the game became unplayable. I then threw it out and bought it on the PC and never looked back. I run about 80 graphics/texture/weather/lighting/immersion mods and the game is just as stable as vanilla, maybe better. You get the occasional freeze or CTD, but it's no worse than playing un-modded. Which is great considering the more mods you use, the more risk you run. I don't even want to think of the hours I spent researching load orders and mod compatibilities. Right now I think I've gotten Skyrim running just as pretty as it can be...and I DON'T use ENB! Of course, I go for the cold harsh "realistic" look.

BTW, I've had several people asking me for my list and I would be happy to share if anybody else wants it. Sadly, I wasn't into taking screenies when I played it so I don't have examples. Once the "shiny" wears of DA:I, I will be back in Tamriel and getting screenies.

My rig is rather old, so I cannot push it very hard as far as the graphics department is concerned. That being said, I can run DA:I at a respectable 45-50 FPS at 1080p and high settings :) I shied away from ENBs in Skyrim, but the game still looks pretty damn good. I do have some lighting mods installed, and Climates of Tamriel, which makes the scenery very pretty :) Most of my mods are for gameplay - SkyRE, Duel, etc :) And, yes, once the shiny wears off, I'll return to Skyrim too... :D

That's not the concept art I was referring to, the original in question never saw the light of day... or it hasn't yet anyway. The original concept art aged Cullen to look about 50/60 years old.

A 50/60 yr-old Cullen?  :o That... nope. I can understand the idea - a seasoned veteran as Commander of the Inquisition army makes absolute sense. But it wouldn't have been Cullen. Even the concept that I referred to doesn't really look like the Cullen we've known through DA:O and DA 2. At least he looks younger there :) At the end of the day, it all turned out just fine, and we got ourselves our smexy Commander :D

Great. Thanks for that.

Now I got a Templar Viagra Commercial in my head....

Are you a Templar?

Has the Lyrium taken effect on your performance?

Do you want to sweep that Mage you some how fell in love with and The Chantry does not approve off her feet?

Try Templar Viagra! New and improved with lasting results.

Warning: Side effects may include addiction, failure to hunt down abominations and your Knight-Commander becoming jealous your getting laid all the time.

Could you imagine the Viagra Bleep commercial set in Thedas? With Josephine asking Cullen how his visit at the Lake had been, and all you hear is a looooooong beep, while a little blue pill covers Cullen's mouth. Meanwhile, Josie's jaw drops :D

Wasn't this the concept art we saw where Cullen looked a lot older:

dragon-age-concept02.png

He doesn't look super old, just maybe 40-something? It goes with the art in his tarot card, where he looks older and more battle-worn than he ended up looking in-game, too.

I like Jai, but not when he has long, curly hair... The Spartacus look did not suit him very well. Am looking forward to the new Terminator movie with him :) It's a cash grab, but I'm a sucker for that universe :)

Is it just me, or does he look a little like Sting in Dune? Or Michael Biehn in Terminator 1?

I'm now in the car on the way...yay.

I used to use CoT...My big weather/lighting mods of choice are RCRN and ELFX. They are beauteous together. Look better than most ENBs imo...especially when you throw in super HD texture mods and the Flora Overhaul.

I'd put him closer to 45 in that one myself, but definitely older than the 30ish they wanted.
