My Qunari IQ started out as an archer and spec'd with Tempest. It didn't seem useful at all since she was never in melee range. I swapped her out to dual-dagger and HOLY BALLS THE DPS!

That is quite odd considering that my Human IQ could rip people apart before combat even initiated, and she still was quite the killer when combat started. No cooldowns and slowing down time...works for me, lol! I remember this one time Sera used her focus ability and took down a dragon about two levels below us with one blow.

I romanced Zevran once and it was so hard to not romance Alistair. I was internally crying lol

On the bright side while having a character far away from main story plot means they might not shows up it also reduce the chance of them getting killed off by BW for one of their evil plan. Especially with DG as his writer, you know what that means.

He's also the only LI that stay with warden in DAI I think.

Considering I rarely ever use Varric in my party or feel the desire to be an artificer, I can't really rule if it is a good spec or not. It just doesn't fit my playstyle when compared to Tempest or Assassin. When it comes to being a Tempest archer it takes some practice and patience since I always take my time in that tree, I always go down the right side of that tree since I find it to the best side of the tree. 

 

I always hear about people not liking Tempest for an archer, but I personally see Tempest fitting an archer more so than a DD rouge. Just mess around with Sera and see if you like an archer/tempest.

 

All the specs work well with archers -even Assassin works really well with it, it you like flanking and getting ridiculously high Crit numbers- it's really down to personal preference of combat style.

Cool, that's good to know. I didn't like playing an archer rogue in DAO (though I got advice on my last couple of PTs that made Lel a lot more effective,) but I'm enjoying Reska so far. I always prefered DW rogues in DAO, but I'm finding the controls in DAI are challenging my sense of depth perception for melee, among other things. It's not as big a deal with my S&S warriors because they're mostly just trying to hold everyone's attention.

Another Zevran fan here. He's been my favorite romance in DA to date, though I liked Alistair and technically romanced him more times than Zevran. I'm seriously considering taking a break when I finish these current DAI PTs and running a Cousland rogue who romances Zevran and marries Alistair just because I find that a particularly fun idea.

I can't decide if I want to make another archer or a mage Lavellan.  I could make a necromancer Lavellan to date Cullen for the lulz I suppose.  Or I could try my hand at a warrior.  Hmph.  Class selection issues.

I believe everyone is creeped out by the IQ becoming a necromancer, lol. So you could go that route at a mage or go the warrior route and become a templar for more angst*in your headcanon*.

Hey all!  Just played adamant and there is something interesting if you do Wicked hearts before adamant with Alistair as the Warden...

because Morrigan is at Skyhold and the 2 of them can meet in the garden, with the old-god-boy and all that (in mine, he is the kid's father), he mentions her at tend of admant!!

When you do here lies the abyss, if you let Alsiatir live, the last thing he says to you is...

"Tell Morrigan,,,well...just tell her I stood around like an idiot". 

or something like that. it was...sooo..Alistair!Then that sideways smile of his!!!! SQEEEEEEL!  

 

I am so glad I did the ultimate Alistair playthrough (Ie - Crestwood, then talk to him at skyhold, then contact HOT, then talk to him again, then Wicked hearts, then watch him and Morrigan and their kid meet up, then ritual tower, then talk to him again, then Adamant, then say goodbye).  It was pretty epic!!

 

Now I have officially said goodbye to him to focus on Cully.  It is hard...like letting go of my twenties or something!!!

I also have to keep in mind that I'm stuck with the sh*tty PC controls so playing as a mage is a bit of a challenge with the limited quickbar slots.  Being an archer wasn't so much of an issue with it though.  I just can't make up my mind on this XD

Yeah, they were far too slow for what I thought an archer should had been capable of. I was always a mage or a DD rouge in DAO, but in DAI they really have made me respect all the classes. I still wish that we could have DW warriors though, I loved my Elissa who was a DW in DA:O...she was pretty damn deadly.

 

Seeing all these conversations about Zevran and where he may be, has led me to a certain headcanon. He is off in Antiva preparing a leather making company and is planning on using some of those products on his blushing bride, once she discovers the cure for The Calling.

Hmm, I've seen Ashe*Lady Insanity* play as a mage on her PC...though I don't know what controller she is using; but she never had a problem as a KE mage. If you are worried about the lack of slots then I suggest going with a S&S warrior, which is rather odd since I usually suggest people go mage.

XD lol, I may have to end up doing that.  I keep going to the CC and then exiting because I can't decide on a damn class.

 

For those here who romanced Cullen with a Dalish mage, how did you approach the romance?  It was easier to RP an archer Dalish or even a human ex-Circle mage who romanced him.  I'm not sure how things would work between the two.  A lot of tension, there.
