Say, what's the MP gameplay vs Single Player? Same system of attack etc? Is it difficult? Is it like LoL or Dota?  I had never play before so I don't know what it's like.

Speaking of tactics, I'm having trouble with my archer. (...)

Pulling this back because I've been fighting Cory's faux-archdemon for like fifty seven years now (yeeey Nightmare achievement, you will be mine) and just remembered to mention something you may not have realized when playing meleers before.Generally as an archer you want to stay as far away from enemies as possible because you get bonus damage for distance with bows, right (the farthest you are the more damage you deal and the higher you crit).

EXCEPT when you're fighting dragons. You know that whirlwind ability they have where they flap their wings and pull everyone close into biting range? Yeah, that baby does massive Physical damage, and rogues and mages have practically no defense against it. NPCs in melee range (dual wielders and warriors) don't take any damage from that move, though, because they're too close to get pulled. So what you wanna do on dragon fights is to keep your archers and mages far enough from the dragons to avoid bites and kicks, but near enough that the second the dragon telegraphs the whirlwind attack, you have time to run into melee range, and don't take the damage from getting sucked in. This should save you a lot of grief from watching your rangers get one-hit killed, specially on higher difficulties.

Unless you're fighting an electricity dragon, in which case GOOD LUCK WITH THAT, lol. Those f♡ckers electrify the ground around them, doing damage over time and thwarting all your best laid plans. Best you can do with them as an archer is to upgrade your Stealth to dispel any negative effects, and keep using it every time you're getting fried.

This way you'll never die, no matter how hard they hit you or you got struck by fireball/lightning/whatever it is. Let them hit you, the more they hit you the more you get guard. And be close & hit everything you can & recharge your barrier.

 

When the dragon got further away, hit with spells from long distance while trying to re'approach since no long distance spells can give damage as high as Lightsaber (at least in my PT).

The actual gameplay is pretty much the same, but at least for me, there was a bit of a learning curve to get used to. The layouts randomized, so there's no memorizing this or that location like in mass effect, and unlike in mass effect, relying on teammates seems more vital as you go. Unfortunately for me, lol, my friends are still console peasants, so I don't have them around, so already multiplayer's meh for me.

 

It turned a very meh experience to a lot of fun, so I really need that here, since all the fighting honestly gets tedious after a while. But lol, that's the same with the actual game too if you're focused on fighting and side "quests". I'd maybe get into this more though because it's a lot more deeper than mass effect's multiplayer, but the servers... ****** suck. As always. For me, anyway. My connection is just fine, but every now and then EA kicks me in the balls with their ****.

ummm quick question... would you guys think  a hair like this would be practical/lore friendly or not really?

 

THIS is my hair from DAO!!!!!  Seriously, I can't remember who made the hair mod, but it is THIS hair, with the messy locks and the long braid over the shoulder! This is my Deliah Amell's hair (cept hers is bright red).  So YES!!!  If someone made this for DAI, I would have it on my quizzie in a flash!!!

THIS is why Knight Enchnater rocks!  Flapping wings gotcha down?  No problem...fade step to its underbelly, pop a barrier, and brutalize it with a spirit blade!! LOL!  Seriously, KE has totally spoiled me for any other type of character (and I used to be all about the rogues...).  I can straight murder dragons!

Heh, KEs don't need tactics, they're practically like playing on godmode. Takes all the fun out of the combat for me when you can cheese through everything and not even break a sweat. I like a good challenge. ;)

I don't even spec Vivienne into KE anymore, just to cut on the cheesing. She actually holds up pretty well on ice + spirit alone, even on Nightmare. Keeps throwing herself into melee range and making me manually put her back near the archers, but. Challenge!

True...god-mode indeed!  But I am not coordinated enough to enjoy the action-oriented combat of this game.  I like setting up tactics and micromanaging for a challenge, but I seriously cannot use the tactical camera in this game...either it is terrible or I am too old to "get it"!

 

  In DAO, I would agree, but for this game...KE just means less clicking of my mouse.  :P

Yeah, it seems to be hard-coded into her AI. No matter how much you tinkle with tactics, behaviour, skills, anything, she still always runs head-first into melee range. Like, I get that they really really wanted to showcase their shiny new Chantry-sanctioned version of the ole Arcane Warrior, but damn. Lemme control my own field tactics, please. :P

I was laughing for quite a bit when I did that. It was so silly, lol, but fun. I just send them flying away when the dragons are flying around trying to shoot at you from the Sky.

OT question for you tech types, is there a way to get Shadowplay running on an Alienware laptop? I've got it downloaded, I meet the specs, I launch it, launch the game, hit the shortcut to record, and nothing. I've got the Status Indicator enabled in prefs but it doesn't show up on the overlay, and there's no video in the save locations. I've read that it could be because I'm trying to get this to work on a laptop, but I'm wondering if I'm just missing a step.

It's almost as entertaining to make Cassandra bounce back fireballs on her shield as it is to make her kick the hell down of those massive giant doors to those big ancient keeps like they're just made out of cheese. Almost.

Ha ha, I suck.  Just failed two matches out of two on MP.  Everyone else died too so I guess it's not just me.  I don't think I'm cut out much for MP, I also sucked at Mass Effects'.

Mass Effect's was simple. Get Krogan. Get Graal. Get credits.

I would always end up getting paired with people way higher than me on the ME3 MP.  At least here it's not so bad.  I also suck balls at Destiny's Arena or whatever it's called (I almost completely forgot about that game with DAI overtaking my life).  And Cullen.

 

Let's get back to Cullen for a sec:

We did create DAMP groups for each platform awhile back but it seems like not many people are actually playing DAMP together.

I did try once but time difference can be a killer as I'm normally on when everyone is asleep (it's almost midday here atm)

 

Thought about just trying MP with randoms but always worried they'll be ********* who take it way too seriously & put me off.

I guess I shouldn't care bout them but I worry more for ruining my gaming experience more than anything now.
