Oh man Cullen's second in command his accent makes me swoon DCr55yB.gif

You mean the one that nearly fought with the mage when Cullen stopped them? IIRC it's the same guy who's beside Cullen the first cutscene ever you got with him?

Knight Captain Rylen! ;)  Love conversing with that guy ^_^

Yea me too... is there an alternative lol?

Yeah...the way I say it is like this...say the word "cough..." then add "fee." That's how I say coffee. Most people around here say "cahfee."  :P

Oooh him. I actually wonder whether they are the same person with the guy who Cullen had to separate from the bald mage in front of the chantry in haven.

Lol, at least you guys don't have an Ohioan accent! It is rather odd sounding for people who hear it for the first time.

Can someone from outside North America verify that standard American accents are cute because I just don't believe it lol!

Are you talking standard as like in Calif.?

I've only had real life exposure to Calif. & Southern accents and on some people it can be pretty hot.

I'm not a fan *in general* but there are plenty of Aussies who love it.

Then again here I am with my "apparently" strong Aussie accent even though I'm from the city & should have a milder accent lol

It's just funny the way I say it as I grew up in the City and I don't have my native city accent It's more like I'm from the outer region of the city so people used to ask me where are you from and I'd tell them and their reply was like oh you don't have a city accent. I would just face palm

Nope. Rylen is the Starkhaven templar from Griffin's Keep. (from Faelchu's screen shot) The one who was arguing wasn't him afaik.

Oh no, there is an accent :) Trust me :P

It's funny, I don't notice that accent watching (American) TV but in Aussie ads or real life I pick in straight away

You see when I went to California for collage visits a few years back, people commented that I sounded like a mixture of a person from the South and from Boston. Just try and imagine the combo of those accents, it isn't pretty.

I'm not sure what to imagine that sounds like!

I guess it's like most places, the people can tell different accents from their country very easily...

I also find it weird people can't tell Aussie & Kiwis apart, maybe that's why we tease each other's accents

Lol, it's weird. Like I never thought I sounded odd, but then people from other states/countries were like "Where are you from?" And I say Ohio which makes them give me a rather perplexed expression.

I can't really describe it, lol! Perhaps you could look up what a Southern person sounds like and then look up what someone from Boston sounds like, and then combine the two.

When I went to Grecce people would always stare at me, but that may had been because I was freaking out over all the ruined architecture.

I'm pretty good with the Southern accent as I stayed in & around Nashville for about 2 weeks years ago but trying to imagine what a Boston accent is like.

Anything like Calif.? or what do they call it? New England?

I don't see how this is different from cawfee...

It's all about vowel rotation. Cahfee would have a much flatter sounding a (think cat), while cawfee is probably written that way in order to emphasize an exaggerated w in the middle, not like pronouncing "caw" (crow noise) and fee. This would be so much easier to convey verbally. I'll cut it out now. lol

Funny you should say this as it's something I notice with my partner and I. He's from country Victoria, I'm from Sydney and usually there's no difference in accents but the moment you have a rounded "a" sound I notice the difference like "Newcastle". I did linguistics a little at uni, it's fascinating stuff esp when you realise what can constitute as an accent & how there can be hundreds in one area & may offer differ slightly like D & I.
