Hunger Games was really good. I haven't read any of the Twilight series and I never will. Watched the first movie - ugh. As a horror fan it's offensive - sparkly skin? And their relationship was straight-up creepy.

He'd only a bit taller than my Trevelyan, so I'd guess 6' maybe? But, hey, we write fanfic, and we draw pics of Cullen. He can be any height you want him to be
Oh yeeeah d'oh... ive been fact checking for work all day today and I got in the groove. So nice to create your own "facts"

Vampires to me will always be Anne Rice's versions. I grew up on her vamps and that's how they should be to me. NOT Tom Cruise Lestat either, book Lestat

And not the bamf warrior Snow White in that dang movie with Kristen Stewart... who was anything but?
You mean "only-one-expression-open-mouth-breather?"
That movie had so much potential...if only they had chosen an actress that could actually stand next to Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth and still have some sort of a presence.

unfortunately I think twilight filled a need in the YA market when we said goodbye to Harry. I feel like she snuck in with poorly, underdeveloped novels and got lucky
I never was a fan of Anne Rice's vamps because if I read the books right they don't have sex? Maybe that's the perv in me, lol.
I do like Underworld vamps...and also Vampire Diaries vamps (the show not the books...and without all of them having daylight rings).
And of course there's Bram Stoker...

The idea that Kristen Stewart is fairer than Charlize Theron is laughable.

Yeah, count me in as old school. Bram Stoker yo. Although I also liked Anne Rice's stuff. HOWEVER, I'm a huge fan of Coppola's Dracula which is pretty much Stoker. God, I love that movie.
I used to like TVD but that show has gone waaay downhill. I was even willing to forgive the daylight rings but very begrudgingly.

I'd half-suspect they ripped the idea off from Buffy, which had the Gem of Amara, a legendary ring that made the wearer immune to daylight and stakings. Buffy did it better though, as that ring was the only one of it's kind in existence and it ended up being (possibly) destroyed during it's second appearance over on Angel.
(And how do I remember the name of an obscure artefact that appeared in two episodes of Buffy/Angel that I saw over a decade ago, yet I can never remember what it was that I originally was planning on doing, by the time I walk down the stairs?) ![]()

Um, because Buffy is the greatest show of all time? Or one of them, anyway.

That's probably it.
It's funny how the DA writers are Whedon fans as well, like how Alistair was written to be our Xander and Nathan Fillion was considered to voice him, which would have been awesome, although Steve Valentine ended up being the far better and far more perfect choice.

Yeah, I associate Alistair with Steve to the point where when I see him in other things, I'm thinking;
"Alistair, why are you fighting the Charmed Ones? Alistair, why are you a stage magician who's getting killed while the Warehouse 13 agents look on? Alistair, why are you constantly trying to screw with Charlie Sheen... okay, that last one I get, but still...?"

If I had heard Steve's voice before DAO, I wouldn't have thought he'd sound better but now I hear it & think of Alistair

As far as I know, no you can't avoid it. I don't think it's a big deal since all the major NPCs with their own unique textures-companions, advisors, Morrigan, etc.-aren't affected by it. Most of the time random NPCs aren't in cutscenes, anyway, so it shouldn't be an issue (at least for me).

What you are calling english accent is the way english must be spoken for me. It is how I learned it back in school(don't take offense please
).
In the other hand, I'm used to american accent too even if sometimes it's a bit hard to understand (cf Daryl in The walking Dead).
Sometimes it is cute, sometimes it is just hard to understand a single word. The same happens with french accent: I can barely understand south french accent o_O
Oh, and it is not cawffe, coooffeee or whatever, it is "café" ![]()
