Hunger Games was really good. I haven't read any of the Twilight series and I never will. Watched the first movie - ugh. As a horror fan it's offensive - sparkly skin? And their relationship was straight-up creepy.
To me it was abuseisve and creepy from when I was reading it and became advocate against Twlight since it gives girls a unhealthy view of realationships.

I have my Origin set to not auto update. But when I went to play, it's telling me I can't play unless I update.
Incidentally, if you set Origin to offline, you don't have to update.
I'll still waiting for the all clear after all the bugs that have been reported.

Well, the good news for those who mod is that the makers of DA Mod Manager promptly made an updated version compatible with the latest patch.

Twilight Moms?? I think id be curious to see what they gush about... Granted, anyone reading this thread from the outside would think we're batsh*t crazy
so I respect other's tastes even if I don't share it...
Soooo I just wanted to underscore Qw33nB33n's point here. It seems we've run into our obligatory every-40 pages Twilight hate, but ripping on the fans is a bit like throwing stones in glass houses for Cullen fans. If we don't want people making fun of us for what we like, perhaps we shouldn't do the same for other fandoms, even if Twilight bashing is fashionable.
The Cullen thread is a pretty heterogeneous group -- as the three-page-long accent discussion has also underscored -- so let's keep in mind why we're here.

There's another poll to see which is the most popular favourite romance, most people seem to think Cass will take out #1 spot

The same thing happened in the Solas thread after someone made a post on reddit comparing the Solas romance and its fandom to Twilight. I agree so much on your bolded point. It's mighty popular to bash on any fandom that's largely dominated by women/girls, so let's try not to do the same, yes?

I downloaded this pajama texture mod for my elven temptress... *cough cough*

I may need to get the darker skin texture version to compare how big the differences in skin tone will be, though.

It's true. Accents are fascinating stuff. I know mine has changed since I was younger because my husband's English.
My husband is Dutch, but since moving to the states 10 or so years ago he has 'lost' most of his accent. I do notice when my in-laws visit it tends to show itself again for a bit, though.. which I love.

So...just wondering around in the Emereld Graves and stumbled upon this. What...the...hell...?

Those poor bears!! My babies! (This would make more sense if my avatar/icon were still a bear here like it is most places. I
bears. From a safe and respectful distance of course, unless they are of the teddy variety. That quest with the mama bear in Emerald Graves was the worst. The worst!)
Cawfeeee...
Surely that is pawfee, not coffee? *runs from thrown fruit*

Although I do agree let's not bash people but to me the book needs to get torn apart as it's giving girls an unhealthy view on realationships sadly
Perhaps... however the Cullen thread is not the place.

I lived in the US for a year and lost my foreign accent pretty quickly (I seem to have a talent for acquiring accents), but after that I had an American accent in Dutch for a little while. And by little I mean a few hours, but still. O_o

Finally got to hear some banter between Cullen and the messenger, Yay! I was so taken aback I don't remember it word for word but it was along the lines of : Messenger - "she says it's not impossible, Ser"
Cullen - "Of course and I'm the King of Fereldan"
I've had loads of the banters from Josie but that's the first Cullen one I've heard.
I'm still playing in Origin offline mode to avoid auto-updates/patching and just using the workaround for my world state, Keep imports. If my internet upgrade goes according to plan tomorrow I'll risk patching as it won't then take 9days to re-download again should it go belly-up.
Totally OT but I must tell you of the laugh I got last night, I don't know if any of your partners are prone to making you think you are hearing things or trying to play down something you hear or see by making it seem like you're talking nonsense, my hubby is kind of guilty of that, especially when he can't be assed to investigate, soooo, I was in the kitchen, I swear i could hear this rustling sound coming from the larder, first thought of mine was "dammit, there is a mouse in the cupboard" yells through to hubby, who without coming to check decided I was probably only hearing bird seed and rubbish settling in the bin, I'm like "hmmm, ok then, if you say so"...later on, I hears this almighty roar lol and a clang, bang followed by a stream of profanities, hubby had gone to pour himself a bowl of cereals and a mouse jumped out the box, I couldn't move for laughing at him, it took me all my strength not to say the obligatory "I freakin told you so"
serves the bugger right lol
However, I was left with the crapy task of emptying the larder and throwing out most of the bags and non-sealed things in there, cleaning it all down with disinfectant etc but it was sooooo worth it ![]()

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. Sadly, I'm sure it's just the beginning for Solas fans... but an interesting object lesson for those new to the Cullen fandom as well.
This has all happened before, and it will all happen again.

I have lived in the UK for going on 14 years now (15 if you count the year I studied in Scotland) and I still can't shake my accent. It's changed, definitely, and the way I speak is different in terms of both inflection and the actual words I use, but I seem to be stuck with my accent permanently. Most people recognise it as either American or Canadian, although I've also gotten Australian, Irish and on one occasion, Chinese (I have no idea where that came from.)
It's bizarre, when I go 'home' I find everyone sounds odd to me (strangers/people whose voices I don't just recognise as 'Mom's voice' or whatever), even though I sound the same as they do, probably.
I've actually considered taking elocution lessons or something to try to sound properly British but I'm not sure it's worth it. I thought it would happen organically but as it stands I have to 'put it on' and I don't like feeling...fake, or like I'm mocking people. I think my short a sound is the strongest/most obvious (and annoyingly, my name starts with one!) So I shall continue to get 'pardon?' and 'Oh where are you from???' questions forever, I fear!

I'm sure you're probably right. The Solas fandom is new and growing, so it is likely to be an easy target for the time being.

Yeah, I was actually just thinking about this today. Solas has the all the makings of a lightning rod character. He pisses characters off in game. He pisses players off IRL. Most of his fans are probably female. His romance is popular. Yeeeah. Maker watch over you, Solas fans. ![]()

Actually that sounds pretty normal, I'm the one who is the freak show here. XD I'm an accent chameleon, even in my own language to a certain extent. It's to the point where I can get confused if there are both Brits and Americans speaking at the same time, it just becomes a mess. You know, like you alway see chameleons in cartoons freaking out when they're on a multicolored backdrop. XD

I wouldn't necessarily say that, but otherwise, yes, I definitely agree.
