As you might know already, I'm currently learning to draw by myself. I don't have anyone who can give me any feedback I severely needed to improve. Personally I find it hard to see what's wrong (I know that something's always wrong in my doodles) since I'm so "inside the box", and more than often other people can point it in less than 5 seconds.

We should start a club. ;) I've always wanted to be able to draw, and my burning desire to make DA:I fanart has given me the kick I needed to actually try and learn. Fortunately, my sketches are still so poor that my husband has not yet noticed that I'm drawing the same face over and over again.

I'm also trying to get into drawing/painting again! I love getting feedback but at the same time I'm terrified of showing my art to other people

I don't know why I haven't thought/noticed before, but the Inquisitor really moves from zero to sixty when she's flirting with Cullen, no? I just had the initial flirts yesterday - "did you take a vow of celibacy".  I mean, they JUST met!

Did you? My game is sooooo slow. I only got to ask him that in Skyhold after a few convos. I don't think it's worse than Hawke and Anders flirt.

Oh...thanks Melissa. With the tilted head. Oh man..Well, this is what I will think about at work today.(I hate my job)

Reminds me: when I was a kid, I always kinda hope that a Weird Science kind of experiment would exist  .

As soon as I could talk to him in Haven, I had the flirt option. The first it the famous creepy smile bit.  Then I talked to him again right after and I had all of the options to ask him about his Templar background and the celibacy flirts.  I think I won't be able to flirt with him again until after Skyhold though, IIRC.  Hawke and Anders and the Warden is a bit different - here you've just been thrown into this loose organization and these people are kind of your superiors in a way.

edited to add - I wonder if you only get the early flirts if you chose to charge the mountain with him in the beginning?  Maybe he respects you more or something?

Hmm...It's weird.  Also, I never really got many Solas flirt options. Like 1 or 2 in Haven and 1 and Skyhold and now, I'm just stuck at "Tell me about Elves. Tell me about the Fade..."

Does anyone remember when the Wicked Grace game triggers? I know I asked already, but I forgot.

Yeah, so do I actually, the thing is I don't have anyone who can give me feedback and since I have no teacher so... Need other people's point of view. How about if I make a Cullenite Beginner Fanart Group?Anyone interested?

For the time being, let me kill you all with bad Cullen drawings.

Here's one: Please don't hesitate to comments & critics are welcome (even harsh one, I'm not touchy  ). I think that I failed his chin again...

I have such a love/hate relationship with that series. I've read up through book 8 and could go no further. I gobbled them up like candy through book 5 and then they just got...so...dragged...out. I've heard they get better again after book 10. It's been so long now that I would have to start over. I will someday. I really loved the relationship between Lan and Nynaeve.

I also want to get through The Sword of Truth. I'm on book 3 there.

And of course Mr. Martin needs to get book 6 out for A Song of Ice and Fire...I'm soooo antsy waiting for that one!

Wheel of Time is my absolute favourite :D It is true that the books get better with the contribution of Brandon Sanderson. The latter has some really good books to his name as well. I gobbled up the Mistborn series, and the Stormlight Archive is epic :D Sword of Truth, I really loved the first book. I've read up to book 6, and then dropped the series. I just could not enjoy it anymore. Seemed a little drawn out.

What? I didn't get that. It could be what it is, because I don't remember charging in anywhere with him. Ugh

Ditto. The GOT series is pretty much the best books I've ever read. I tried getting into Malazan Book of the Fallen and I couldn't. I'd have to try again once I am done wiht WOT in 5 years...

How do you find Sword of Truth? I stopped after book 4-5 cause...I was just getting annoyed with Richard and Kaylan. I found that some elements are realllllly similar to those of WOT.

For the Malazan Book of the Fallen I had to be in a particular mood... It's very hard to follow, imho. But I did finish the series. When Dagna brought up that lyrium was more like an organism than a mineral (since it can get infected to become red), I immediately thought of Malazan. The way that the Warrens work there and the way that lyrium is being portrayed in DA:I is suspiciously close :P

Oh and with my other Dalish character, first playthrough I didn't flirt with Solas (he creeped me out) but I'm curious now, however I still want to be with Cullen.  I had read somewhere that there's no definitive "start a romance with Solas" prompt so I don't want to get ninjamanced, any advice?

@Scintilla, at the very beginning when you're asked to decide how to approach, you can choose the mountain path or charge with the soldiers.  If you charge you meet up with Cullen (briefly), he fights with you a second, you're introduced and then he runs ahead. I'm sure there's a video.

I don't know many people who have read it, so it's good to have some feedback. Cause I DID have a hard time following and put it down pretty much 200 pages in the first book. It's a challenge, but I do want to finish it.

While I respect those who chose to add in MODs for perfect eyebrows, make-up etc. I for one never understood it. Bioware did a rather p!ss poor job on the hairstyles, the rest I am fine with. I have little desire to make some form of a super model looking character. I generally make my characters pretty, but not to the extent she should be on the cover of Vogue magazine. Maybe it has to do with my early days of ready comics and seeing how ridculious some of those artists drew the female characters or perhaps its simply because I find those types of characters off-putting in any game senerio.

I was going through the list of MODs and someone made one about removing Cassandra’s scars. I and my husband don’t see the reason for this. I am rather fond of Cassandra’s scars, hence giving her character. Far better then Aveline’s fruit roll up wrapped around her head.

But I digress. At any rate, I would gladly welcome some new hairstyles. The ones in the game are really freaking bad.

Which reminds me and apologies for being off topic here.

I am having issues installing the Mod for the finery. That nutcracker outfit is driving me crazy. I am not sure if the file did not download correctly or what. Its listed in the MODs, but is not coming up as attached in the DA Mod manager box.

Any insight? Should I redownload the MOD (for the third time) and try again?

We should start a club. ;) I've always wanted to be able to draw, and my burning desire to make DA:I fanart has given me the kick I needed to actually try and learn. Yeeesssss!!! This! Let's! I'm game :D We could get together on Skype once a week or once every two weeks, and swap works, critique, and improve :) And, do not worry about not being professionals - an extra pair of eyes are invaluable :)

Here's a tip for all of you trying to get started: flip your canvas frequently. This will give you a fresh view of your work, and will make it easy to detect errors. If you work digitally, it is easy. If you work in traditional media, use a mirror :)

No I got the 'Hi, I'll be happy to hear a lecture' flirt and the 'We just met are you celibate? *smooth*' flirts and I went the dangerous route to save the scouts and didn't meet Cullen until Haven.  I forget exactly when I got it, I know I was blocked out of talking to him for a long time because of Roderick causing a fuss in front of the Chantry, so I think I had to progress some of the main quest first (possibly choosing mages or templars which I put off as long as possible because I am bad at making decisions.)

Finishing it is more a labour of love than anything... There are some characters in there I absolutely adore, and the Sappers cracked me up, but it's tough :)

I haven't installed Halamshiral Finery but I've checked it out, and this is what the instructions say:

This mod will NOT WORK with other mods.

This mod will NOT WORK for non-English versions of the game at this time.

The official Bioware patch is also REQUIRED. The mod will NOT WORK on an unpatched game.

INSTALLATION

1 : Download the mod, aptly named "bonesiee_halamshiralfinery.rar".

2 : Navigate to your Inquisition installation directory,
[the default should be C:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/Dragon Age Inquisition]
And extract the contents of the rar directly into the 'Updates' folder.
You should now have a folder called "Halamshiral Finery", and a READ ME.

So, no Mod Manager.

I also see no harm in making my characters beautiful.  To each their own, though.

I have to disagree, the eyebrows are distractingly bad.  The rest of the CC is fine and good eyebrows don't necessarily make you look like a supermodel.  I tend to make my characters look more "real" and I was having such a hard time with the limited choices.  I like a strong, straightish brow but not a brow that looks like a block of color.  I don't like the overplucked look at all and the really bushy ones don't fit my character. Having said all of that, I hated looking at the DA:O vids with mods where the Warden looked like a barbie doll or a manga character or where they completely changed Morrigan and Leliana's face.

I can't imagine wanting to remove Cass's scars, WTF?

Liked for "nutcracker outfits".
