Wheel of Time is my absolute favourite It is true that the books get better with the contribution of Brandon Sanderson. The latter has some really good books to his name as well. I gobbled up the Mistborn series, and the Stormlight Archive is epic Sword of Truth, I really loved the first book. I've read up to book 6, and then dropped the series. I just could not enjoy it anymore. Seemed a little drawn out. 

 

My cousin summed up WoT perfectly when he said that Jordan got lost in his own world. It got too big for him. Sanderson helped bring it back.

While I respect those who chose to add in MODs for perfect eyebrows, make-up etc. I for one never understood it. Bioware did a rather p!ss poor job on the hairstyles, the rest I am fine with. I have little desire to make some form of a super model looking character. I generally make my characters pretty, but not to the extent she should be on the cover of Vogue magazine. Maybe it has to do with my early days of ready comics and seeing how ridculious some of those artists drew the female characters or perhaps its simply because I find those types of characters off-putting in any game senerio.

 

I was going through the list of MODs and someone made one about removing Cassandra’s scars. I and my husband don’t see the reason for this. I am rather fond of Cassandra’s scars, hence giving her character. Far better then Aveline’s fruit roll up wrapped around her head.

 

But I digress. At any rate, I would gladly welcome some new hairstyles. The ones in the game are really freaking bad.

 

Which reminds me and apologies for being off topic here.

 

I am having issues installing the Mod for the finery. That nutcracker outfit is driving me crazy. I am not sure if the file did not download correctly or what. Its listed in the MODs, but is not coming up as attached in the DA Mod manager box.

 

Any insight? Should I redownload the MOD (for the third time) and try again?

 

I would never mod someone to remove scars. I like them. In fact, I add scars to all my girls. However, the in-game brows are redonk. I'd rather have better Bioware brows than hair - I can live with the hair. There's no need to make a supermodel, but I would still like to not have a character with no middle ground. In-game brows are either teeny tiny non-existent or caterpillars.

OooOOooo I did not know that could be done. I'll only have time to figure it out in the evening once I get home from work, but it looks like the appropriate thing to do. I was thinking of migrating everything to DevArt, with the possibility of setting up group chats on a regular basis to swap critiques. Let's see how many ppl would be interested, and we'll take it from there

Hmm...It's weird.  Also, I never really got many Solas flirt options. Like 1 or 2 in Haven and 1 and Skyhold and now, I'm just stuck at "Tell me about Elves. Tell me about the Fade..."

It could be worse... I've been romancing the pants off Solas, and he won't even say that to me anymore. I was *really* looking forward to fawning over him and hearing his stories as an LI. But nada.

I haven't installed Halamshiral Finery but I've checked it out, and this is what the instructions say:

 

 

So, no Mod Manager.

 

I also see no harm in making my characters beautiful.  To each their own, though.

 

I was able to get it to work with other mods with fontofnothing's help. She talked me through making my own distributable patch since the Halamshiral author provides the actual textures for download. Once I made the distributable patch, I could then merge them with the Mod Manager. 

 

I'm not sure if you can still do this though with the new update.

I couldn't remember if you could delay it and I didn't want to take the chance.  Also he's just standing RIGHT THERE.  And my character looks like me (I scrapped the last one and made a more accurate one) so I need to see me making out with Cullen stat.

So I've noticed from those awesome HQ pics of his face that he actually has a couple of beard hairs in his scar. Damn that must suck to shave >.<. No wonder he doesn't do it very often.

 

As an aside though, he totally should have shave for Wicked Eyes/Hearts. You're at a BALL man, geez. If we had a mirror of transformation I might just have removed my male IQ's stubble for that as well.

I'm glad they opted out of Cullen's goatee this time around and left behind scruff. Cullen looked a little strange at first without, being so used to it. Now when I look at the other games and see him with his goatee he looks strange with it. LOL!

Ok, so I'm going to put myself out on a limb here and admit that I am a very harsh judge of characters in books, particularly females. A lot of them annoy the ever-loving crap out of me. Maybe it's because I always got along better with men irl? I just can't stand some of the mind-game crap they play and the waffling that goes on in their heads. Kahlan is one of them...annoys me! But I do like Richard. I'm only on book 3 so I really don't have an opinion of the series overall. 

 

Female characters I like:

 

Nynaeve - WoT

Arya - ASOIAF

Brienne - ASOIAF

Morgana - Mists of Avalon

Katniss Everdeen - Hunger Games - this is debatable since she does some "waffling" over mens

Lessa - Dragonriders of Pern

 

 

And yes I can see how SoT is very similar to WoT

 

I don't think so. For the above list and the characters I know, we seem to like the same ones. I also liked Hermione in the HP series. WOT...many, many, many ladies, if not most get on my damn nerves. My least favorite is Faile...ugh...I cannot. stand.Faile. I just feel like juming over the chapters she's in, but that would defeat the purpose of reading the books.

Ugh I hate myself for putting this image in my head. In the novel Kill Decision (a techno-thriller) there is a really sexy scene where the female lead shaves the male lead and it leads to sexy times. Now I have THAT image in my head for Cullen.

I just remembered i have the first Wheel of Time book on my iPad and I never finished it, made the mistake of downloading it on a long vacation.  I should read it!

It's the same stories! He snapped when I did it again, and realized that he was repeating himself indeed. I would assume this is a bug? I was tempted to romance Solas, but...Cullen just waltzed in. Couldn't resist even if I tried.
