This is why I do not do anything on Tumblr.

I will just stay on my dashboard I think from now on.  I love all of the awesome Dragon Age posts (and Cullen of course).  And a lot of Mass Effect stuff too which has been nice - I miss that series.

Guys - Tumblr is a scary place sometimes.  I ended on a weird tag, people are posting some crazy **** about Cullen - he reminds them of an abusive ex? And nasty stuff toward people refusing to acknowledge that he's bisexual?  He's trans?  I'm scared *hold me*.  I like Tumblr for fanfic and fan art, and gifs.

 

Tumblr does have its share of drama, that's for sure. People can get really angry about the smallest things - just yesterday, I saw a long-time Alistair fanartist become the target of critics who disliked her joking at his expense even though she clearly adores him and draws him all the time. Many of the controversies you'll see here around BSN will pour over onto Tumblr, too.

 

I've been on Tumblr for 3 or so years on and off and I can say it's much less stressful to just never go through the tags at all. I prefer to follow a few people who regularly reblog dragon age graphics/artwork/cute character analyses/funny text posts and can be trusted to not involve themselves too much in the other stuff. It's easier to control what shows up on your dash that way - and as long as you avoid the drama-filled discussions, Tumblr can be a pretty relaxing place to be.

That's what I thought too, that the veil was just a barrier between mortals and the fade to keep the two separate, but I'm not sure anymore. I guess I just wanted to throw out food for thought and I don't think the fade actually existed until the veil was created. The fade was just...everywhere...

I was a major lurker on the forums during the hype between DAO and DA2, but I was really only interested in fan art at the time, and BSN is a great way to find that. Finally decided to join in the discussion during the DAI pre game hype, and I'm so glad I did. Anyone lurking in the thread now, I highly suggest putting in your opinion if you're comfortable. It's a lot more fun when a bunch of people are adding to the conversation.

In other news: the part of Ohio I live in got covered in snow and ice which was not a part of the forecast.

 

A few hours ago I was leaving my classes and thought the ice had melted away...I was wrong. I nearly broke my heel so now I am walking with a horrible limp and no stranger saved me from that fate. Ugh I hate the winter.

That song probably fits my story more so than the other one...or at least that song fits the final version of my story.

I still don't understand Twitter and Instagram, but I'm doing better understanding Tumblr since I started posting my screenshots.

 

Going back about 10 years ago I used to be a part-owner of a message board with over 10,000 members. We used to advertise in magazines, organize donation events, local gatherings, sold clothing, etc etc. There was no end to the drama...and that board was about predatory fishkeeping! I totally don't miss it. People still get bent out of shape over nothing...I don't think that will ever change.
