It was the champion's Rally talent.
Ah, right! So annoying! And Wynne's rock armor I think? Little dancing black dots around her head. Leliana's glittery dust she put on everyone wasn't so bad.

Have y'all seen the latest DA tweet? The weapons look pretty cool! I hope the flames go out when they're sheathed though. I didn't like that effect in DA:O.
Goody! It made cut scenes weird
As did Alistair's little red drops of woe (whatever that effect was).
Not to mention the hundreds of leafs (or whatever it was) falling off characters.
I'm so excited about bows and bows with wings and bows with strings and
I am so playing an archer first. Sorry, Ashtal, you're switchin' specs.
I'd have a difficult time deciding between the bow and the daggers. My preference is daggers, but that bow is really sweet. ![]()
Agreed. I like those effects in combat, not during dialoguesAh, right! So annoying! And Wynne's rock armor I think? Little dancing black dots around her head. Leliana's glittery dust she put on everyone was so bad.
This is lovely! I adore your face magic in dao.
Thanks! He's still a work in progress. I never knew the man had such ungodly HUGE teeth!!

Someone in this thread actually has her as an avatar...
I wish they'd release some in game pics of elves; I swear I spend an hour every day looking for a new avatar and never find anything I like ![]()
I'm hoping archers will be as effective as they were in DA2. I played a Rogue with the Assassination and Subterfuge specializations. With some proper stating, I had an ultra badass. Hopefully the game will keep in that vein and I can have an archer worthy of the bow. ;D

I think it is rapscalliones.

Y'know, I reckon you could plausibly recreate that Elf in your avatar in DAI, judging on how detailed the companions faces are... of course, that's providing that we have the option to customise our Inquisitor's to the same level!

Ok, so, as a general idea? How about if something someone says really upsets you or rubs you the wrong way and you feel it needs to be addressed... Take it to PM. That way the thread isn't utterly derailed and people don't feel publicly admonished like a child or ganged up on.
I would really hate to see this applied as a general policy. Absolutely not saying the posts being discussed today were offensive to me, and agreed that we should always watch out for derailing the actual discussion about sexy templars that we're all trying to have here, but I wouldn't want to be part of any discussion where politely pointing out offensive/insensitive statements is categorically banned. (EDIT: this is just as much because I want to feel secure that I'm not accidentally pissing anyone off as it is because I don't want to feel muzzled if someone is pissing me off.)

I hope Knight-Enchanters can use the sword. Not amped about the staff but that sword is boss!

Oh my giddy aunt, I would die of happiness if this were so
But I think you are right as far as face customization is concerned. I just wonder what our hair options will be. I might have to go super short again because the "caked on" look of long hair in DA is rough for me to look at.

I think the frostbite engine will prevent the long hair from looking as bad as it has in the past.
But it might still not be good enough to make it look that great unfortunately.
Thanks, found it
!
Though I remember seeing a full picture somewhere. I'd like to have it, since the one I saved from a person's profile isn't that good.
I made one so I hope it works for you:

Well, the Inquisitor from the trailer with the helmet on looked pretty generic but it's hard to tell with that giant dragon helmet on his head, lol. The Inquisitor with the pimp hat had a distinctive face, but then it's hard to gauge how unique our he/she will actually look until we see a bunch of random npcs in the game. I mean, pretty much all the female Hawke's (except the default one) looked just like all the other female npcs in DA2, lol.
Tbh, I think skin tones and textures plays a big part in it too. Like, in DA:O our Warden's all looked very generic, but even if you just download a bunch of mods for more varied skin tones/textures automatically the Warden suddenly looks way more unique!

The Archery Talents in DA2 were crap but man you could become a beast with the right talents and specializations.

I know, right lol I appreciate what they're doing, but I actually kinda wanna see what the guy looks like! That said, I can't wait to see a female inquisitor (SANS HELMET!!) as well as the other races.
I want to see close-ups of Solas and Sera to get an idea of in-game elven facial structure.
And I might pee myself the first time we see a qunari woman.

I think if we could just get some long hair that looks like it has volume I'd be cool. DA long hair tends to look flat, very flat. I would also love a free-swinging ponytail; that shouldn't clip into armor either.
Like this... hair like this is short so there's no clipping, but it has volume so it seems more vibrant and alive.
Then you have ponytails; the one on the right actually swings as she walks so again it's more vibrant. Doesn't clip into armor, either.
That's the sort of thing I would like, but just looking at the hairstyles of our various companions, I'm thinking we may not get it. Although I'd love to see Leliana sans hood. Wonder how her short, full hairstyle translated.

I guess they're purposely trying to keep the Inquisitor's physical appearance kinda obscure so that we don't place too much focus on him being the default male. They seem to be placing a lot of emphasis on the fact that the Inquisitor can look however you want, so it's probably wiser to have the Inquisitor's face in the trailer mostly covered anyway.
That being said, I'd love to get a proper look at a few different variations of male and female Inquisitor in all 4 races, just so that we can have a rough idea of what we can create. Perhaps they'll eventually show us a video of the CC and different customisation options.

I'm kinda wondering if she ever takes her hood off in-game
I would be extremely dissapointed if she just walks around in that the entire game.
