Are custom world state imports from the Keep still broken (not sure where to look for that info, sorry?) I tried to create a new character and it can't find my WS, even while I'm logged into the Keep...

Artemis
Weapon and Shield:
Shield Wall + Upgrade
Payback Strike
Shield Bash + Upgrade
Turn the Bolt
Bear Mauls the Wolves
Turn the Blade
Battlemaster
Grappling Chain + Upgrade
Vanguard:
War Cry + Upgrade
Champion:
Line in the Sand + Upgrade
Resilience
Bulwark
Unyielding
Adamant
Walking Fortress + Upgrade
To the Death + Upgrade
I would start with the Weapon and Shield talents, and then start mixing in the others once you have it maxed out. And when you get the Champion specialization unlocked, start getting those talents as well.

I do love the shape of the Thedas universe right now. It's in a very interesting place, ripe for big changes or big messes, or both. It does leave you wondering "what now" every time you look at this time bomb you have in your hands.
And I'm honestly in love with my own heroes and the shape of my world state right now. Most fantasy games just offer a generic hero-shaped protagonist you can slap a custom name on, but few games leave me feeling like the hero is my character the way DA does. This is a universe where you can really claim that your hero is your own, and compare and contrast a hundred different protagonists and find they have nothing in common, and still they all work in the world each player builds around them. For all the huge flaws all three installments in this series have, it's still my favorite series because of that - no other game makes me as passionate about my heroes and their circle of friends and the world they leave behind as this one does.
I know this is from a couple hours ago, but I wanted to comment on this.
One of my very few friends who plays Dragon Age games doesn't understand my somewhat obsessive need to replay. English isn't his first language so I don't think he quite means it the way he says it, but he told me not long ago that he thinks my repeat plays are "childish." The truth is a bit more complicated and I didn't explain it very well to him, but the fact that I can create my world, even if the choices won't matter all that much in the DA4, is a huge deal to me. I know that my canon playthrough won't be perfect, but I have the ability to create exactly the world I want and just like you, no other game instills that sense of passion in me. I get very protective of my Warden, less so of my Hawke but I don't love her any less. It's a game world that I can shape in just about any possible way, and I absolutely love that about this series.

Interesting, so you don't use most of the Vanguard tree, including Challenge? I've been weighing more heavily toward Vanguard than weapon-and-shield (I'm starting to think I'll never get the last bit I need to unlock the champion spec, lol). I'm asking because I feel like my spec is working pretty well for a tank, but I might be missing things that could be much better...

War Cry works better, cause you get guard just for enemies being near you. I find it to be more effective. Also, Champion + Sword and Shield gives a crap ton of armor bonuses and guard, making you pretty much hard to kill. If Artemis wasn't going to spec in Champion, I would have given a lot more Vanguard stuff.

Ummm, you don't actually have to use lyrium potions. In fact, I don't think Warriors can even drink them lol.
OH! LOL I thought surely you would!

Good to know! I was thinking that Vanguard generated a lot of guard bonuses (and I tend to alternate War Cry and Challenge to keep agro on my tank to allow for the cool downs). I've got one party I'm running with two S&S warriors currently, though, so maybe I'll respec one that way. Thanks! (I know you posted for CA, but I like my S&S warriors.)

Lol, in the lore yes, but you don't have to drink them in combat.

It's all cool. I like talking about this stuff. I had a lot of fun in the Skill tree thread making a bunch of builds and helping people make theirs, particularly since combat in DAI had a serious overhaul.

Also, Artemis, I found an artist who does amazing Hawke and Fenris art! S/he is also where I got my current Hawke avi from.

One thing I'm usually not very good at (without a lot of trial and error) is building a good spec. The only one I ever came up with mostly on my own that worked really well was a disc priest build for the PVP battlegrounds in WoW in the days when no one bothered with disc priests (thus everything I did was unexpected
).

I like doing build stuff and higher level difficulties after my first few runs. Hmm I might make this my high difficulty run... well, I can try xD

Well, whether or not it's going there this time, I think the eventual ending is rather...obvious after that last one ![]()

How frustrated do you want them to get? I see the desk working perfectly well as a later, celebratory and impulsive moment instead, if you want chocolate to still be involved in that eventual ending ![]()
Kind of hard to come up with a really believable excuse for him to have chocolate fondue at his desk when he knew he'd be briefing soldiers (and didn't know for certain you'd be there at all).
