lol Thank you *hugs Fenris chibi* <3

The only save I'm concerned about losing is the Cadash I created recently. Cause she looks so cool. I don't care about my first playthrough; it was not a pleasant experience lol

So I'm weighing my options.

I have been lucky when it comes to the actual game...for the most part. The only thing I have to deal with is the constant "connecting to Dragon Age servers" bug/loop. I'm playing on my PS4 and it doesn't seem to like my Wifi, but then it connects to it just fine and DA:I still keeps on connecting. It is just really annoying.

In nine's continuing adventures in finding the right pyjama retexture that makes it look less like a pyjama and more like real clothes (you can't wear armor all the time, I guess), I seem to have settled on the perfect one at last (here for fem humans, here for fem elves). Now to settle on the color.

My god they really released a buggy game, didn't they.

Okay, I'm gonna uninstall and reinstall :) I had heard that, about it prompting you to keep your saves. I'll try that. And I'm glad you finally got that screenshot problem fixed. No point playing if you can't share your pretties :D

I'm not blaming my problem on the game at all. Some line of code somewhere must have gotten messed up when I was using one of the many tools I have to manipulate the game in a way it was never meant to be manipulated. It was a matter of time. I'll bet it will happen again too, but now I know how to fix it.

A question for all you writers out there. When you write, do you just free-style your chapter/story or do you already have the chapter/story written down and then type it out? I typically do a lot of free-styling...is that weird?

I still like the Halamshiral Finery the most. I love the formal look of the original, but the alternate color.

Cullen is a poor test subject for recolors, in any case, because he looks perfect in anything. We could do Halamshiral Potato Sack Retexture, and he'd still look like a proper fairytale prince. :P

Thanks for posting these. I haven't done any mods yet, but I'd only seen these skyhold pj alts for elves and I'd wanted to have then for my human pc as well. Any idea if the modder's planning Dwarf and Qunari ones? Love the screens. Again, thanks for sharing :)

I see. I should probably just take a deep breath and give up for the night. I really have a lot of negative feelings associated with this game at this point. I really don't know why my video card would suddenly break so drastically since I last played the game though (1/19).

I'm really convinced it's the patch since many others reported the same thing happening: http://answers.ea.co.../3998635/page/9

*hugs* I hope they get something worked out for you soon. And it may be the patch is causing problems with certain systems, I was just going on the fact that they said they would come out to replace the video card.

I have a rather uneven relationship with computers with some interesting holes in my knowledge because I'm mostly self-taught. Drives my techie daughter crazy, but at least I usually know when to stop what I'm doing and IM her for help :P

I generally spend quite a lot of time thinking about a chapter before writing anything. I will imagine the scene and most of the dialogue. This can take a very long time - I can obsess over a particular scene for a week. And then - boom! - I got the image fixed in my head. Writing things down takes very little time in comparison.

Every author has a different approach - free-styling is not strange at all. Always do what feels right :)

Free styling, mostly. I get a major scene in my head, and then write down what I envision on my iPhone Notes section so I don't lose the experience of what I'm seeing/feeling. And then I actually get on my laptop and write it from there.

I always free style. I just get inspired and have to write something down, and then I just go from there.

Hey I thought I knew a decent amount, but suddenly I'm less liable to trust myself and just mess around with things when I've paid for the darn thing myself  In the past, all my computers were bought by my parents. So, not my money... and my money is tiiiight. Very tight. (The current laptop I'm using was bought for me as a birthday present a few years ago.)

I hope you're right and that the new video card and fan will fix everything. Especially if this reinstall does nothing.

For multi-chapter fics I always had a working outline.

For oneshots, I have a general idea in my head of how the scene will go, though I usually am not sure how the story will end until I get there. For example, I didn't know Cullen would kiss Lavellan in my first Cullen fic. He just did it.

For my personal writing, I do plan everything, with outlines and notes and what not, or else it would make things much, much harder. I even have a calendar so I can keep track of holidays, birthdays, and major events in the story.

I always freestyle poetry, cause i like it to flow (and it is more natural to me).  Prose is difficult for me no matter how I do it, but I usually write out dialogue (cause that is what runs through my head first) and then fill in everything else.  The problem is, I think it shows, so still working on a better method.  Haven't learned yet to mesh the two worlds!

Depends on what I'm writing. I've never been good at strict outlining and fiction, at least, just flows straight to my fingers without much thought once I have an idea. Cullen and the children attacking the war room literally was just a stream of consciousness piece. Usually once I work out an idea, it writes itself, but getting an idea that has consistency is usually the problem. The closest I get to outlining is putting a note in a Word doc for later - "Cullen catches Zima telling children a story. A squirrel named Derzka (cheeky)?" Fictional characters often tend to tell you what they're going to do. For non-fiction, I usually have a specific purpose in writing, so I organize my material/evidence carefully, and I find it tends to guide the writing even if I jump around a lot during the process. Then in either case, I go back and edit, sometimes heavily. A published writer told me to get something on paper, even if it's terrible. It's easier to clean it up than waste hours staring at the page trying to get things perfect the first time.

But Teshayel is right, do what feels comfortable to you. There is no one way to write other than...to write!

I don't really have to think too long on my scene or chapter...it just kind of comes to me. Which is both a blessing and a curse since it typically evokes the emotional writing from me, but it can also leave me lost. I'm just lucky to have a great memory and even better imagination so I don't have to write down my sudden inspirations.

Free styling, mostly. I get a major scene in my head, and then write down what I envision on my iPhone Notes section so I don't lose the experience of what I'm seeing/feeling. And then I actually get on my laptop and write it from there.

Intriguing. The Cullen fic I am writing, well I never really envisioned the first part at all...it just kind of happened and seems to be pretty good. I planned out the end and knew what I was going to do for it, but then the beginning came and a rough idea came to me and that turned into a 2000 word intro.

I always free style. I just get inspired and have to write something down, and then I just go from there.

I think you and I must be pretty similar then. Except I don't have to write something down right then and there, lol! Oh how was that real life Ali-cat?

I don't think the modder is planning on doing qunari or dwarves, unfortunately. Even the human conversion was done by someone else. But! I'm glad it helped someone else to find these. They're too pretty.

I don't even need to mention that I'm using the green one for my elf too, do I? :P <mind twins powers, activate!> Good news is you can actually merge a version for human and a version for elf into one same patch, so no need to switch around when you change characters.

The black print ball getup kinda makes me think Cully-Wully needs a good glass of brandy and a cigar.  :P

That may~ or may not be why I prefer it to the Disney prince one. ;)

The fan could actually have been the source, and the reason it took time to become a problem. The game can really heat up your video card and an inadequate fan could cause overheating. Just guessing here, though, lol.

Yeah, after having my own custom pc built I'll never be able to go back to just buying one off the rack. I was able to pick and choose everything I wanted, down to what case and fan combination I wanted.

No kidding! The only two prebuilt systems I've ever had were lousy compared to my custom builds in terms of how long I found them useful. My younger daughter is playing DAI on a 4.5 year old custom machine her sister and her ex built, and other than having to keep most of the graphics turned down, it works fine.

The part in the post that I made bold is pretty much exactly how I feel when I write or how I write. Hopefully I can truly hone that style of writing and became a master of it, we'll see!

Seriously even closer looking to Ali than the other one if that's even possible. He had spiked blonde hair AND a goatee and he was built the same. Personality wasn't even close though sadly. So in that respect the other guy was still closer. I snuck a picture this time, but it didn't turn out great, and I'm pretty sure like 10 people saw me do it lol.

Gah!  I wish i was like that!!!  The stuff around the dialogue is a nightmare for me to write!  ! can write poetry, to express an emotion or a moment or an idea.  I can write dialogue, cause i talk to myself all the time.  But describing a room?  Or someone's body?  Nope.  Pure torture! :P
