Gah!  I wish i was like that!!!  The stuff around the dialogue is a nightmare for me to write!  ! can write poetry, to express an emotion or a moment or an idea.  I can write dialogue, cause i talk to myself all the time.  But describing a room?  Or someone's body?  Nope.  Pure torture! :P

Lol, well I wish I could come up with extremely impacting or intriguing dialogue! XD If we could combine our individual skills then I think we would be pretty amazing.

Seriously even closer looking to Ali than the other one if that's even possible. He had spiked blonde hair AND a goatee and he was built the same. Personality wasn't even close though sadly. So in that respect the other guy was still closer. I snuck a picture this time, but it didn't turn out great, and I'm pretty sure like 10 people saw me do it lol.

X3 That is why you always have a book on you and pretend you're reading or fixing your hair and looking at your phone so you can see how your hair looks. It works for me...plus people probably wouldn't expect me to sneak a pic of them, since I don't really do it often nor do I seem like the type who would constantly do that. In other words...I'm devious

I don't really have to think too long on my scene or chapter...it just kind of comes to me. Which is both a blessing and a curse since it typically evokes the emotional writing from me, but it can also leave me lost. I'm just lucky to have a great memory and even better imagination so I don't have to write down my sudden inspirations.

*snip*

Yeah, that generally leads to a stream-of-consciousness style. It reads more like someone telling you the story, actually :) The great thing about this style is that it can be very effective at conveying emotion - as you've already experienced. Don't worry about getting lost - you can always come back and rehash things. Keep practicing, and don't be shy about asking for input :) Having a beta is always a good idea - it can make the learning process significantly faster.

Most importantly, have fun :D

I was talking to a friend today about my difficulty with writing fiction and he laughed and said it was because I have spent the past decade writing like a scientist...and have thus forgotten how to use adjectives, while I have twenty for phrases for "the data suggest".  I think he may be on to something. ... LOL!!!

I was at a choir rehearsal so there were tons of people in front, behind, to the left, and to the right of me. Otherwise I definitely would've done that lol. I was going to get caught by someone no matter what. But it was worth it for the cause xD

BTW...LOVE this one!!!!

Thank you! Wish I could get another one like that going. I rather liked the dragon slaying story, but it doesn't have quite the same energy.

I have science oriented friends who have tried to write fiction, but they always use the word "utilize" because they're so used to writing that in lab reports x).

Writing is hard for me since I'm a very visual person. I'll have a whole damn movie run in my head about a specific scenario but when it comes to try to put it to words NOPENOPENOPE.

It's a good thing I've got a good storage memory for my fiction stuff. It's a wonder why I can remember stuff from 3 years ago but oops, left the stove on.

I'm realizing that poetry is really hard for me. I've been at it for an hour and only have 4 lines written lol

The way I do...i love letting the words roll out.  Sometimes I have no idea what they mean or where it is going.  If you are struggling, maybe you are trying to hard to make the words say something specific. You gotsa let them flow!! Just let nonsense come out for a bit and then it will all start falling together...like writing in a dream state, a little... (this probably doesn't help at all...)

Bahahahaaa!!! So true! Scientific writing is sooo very different from creative writing. So stale... And you have to maximize the information you deliver with a minimum amount of words. I hate it so much :P

So, speaking about a failure with the CC that doesn't look like a failure, this is Vetra Cadash

Why is she a failure? Because she was supposed to look over 40 and hardbitten, lol.

XD I love people giving their input on my writings! As long as they aren't complete and utter jerks when it comes to their input, then I don't mind if they tear apart my story...you can rip something/someone apart and still be eloquent about it. Vivienne would be the prime example of that.

Yeah, I have a beta for my Solavellan fic and I am going to ask if she can beta this oneshot as well. If not I'll see if someone else would like to be the beta for it.

You totally should had approached him after the rehearsal...which is odd for me to say since I would never do that, lol. Then again it may had made you look like a creeper...eh it would be worth a closer look, no?

No I actually know exactly what you're saying. I do this when I write short stories. I usually listen to instrumental music to set the tone and then do exactly that. I think the issue is that I know poetry is about being descriptive so I'm trying so hard to make it descriptive that I'm having trouble. I just need to get more comfortable with it and let it flow.

He was only 4 or 5 seats down from me. I couldn't stop looking at him. But like I said his personality sucked so I didn't really have any urge to do anything other than admire him from afar x)

Well, damn. I'm concerned. On the tech support page, several people reported uninstalling and reinstalling and yet the problem persisted. It is really sad that no one from BioWare has responded. This goes back to the day the patch was released.

I love Sumalee's voice! It all depends on the type of character you want to play.

The only reason I could think that people wouldn't be responding would be that PAX South is happening rn. But I'm sure there are people that didn't attend so idk...

Combine him with the other one and then you would have the perfect real life Ali-Cat!

I can relate to this so well.I just finished my first fan fic and it was rough doing. I never wrote very scientific but I am a very into describing in detail scenery and details to clothing and such. I have never like doing dialog and it was rough trying to write it. But once you get into it flows easier and pretty soon it comes natural.
