shepherd is my fave bioware hero but most likely because I followed her through 3 games.
I think Cullen could definitely be an engineer in today's world. I'd think firefighter is more for fun? You know, fire=hot, sweaty hero.
I guess the reason I like him is because he's a fellow introvert like myself, as I am a fellow nerd and a computer science nerd to boot.
Hehe, I'm a shameless extrovert, in addition to being a Girl-Engineer (yes, this is a "special status" where I am) so... 
Weirdly my RL boyfriend is a IT engineer, he's both very extrovert & introvert at the same time, as well as being the most less "nerdy" (no offense, I'm a nerd/geek too) guy I've ever met in my life. First time I met him & he told me he's an IT engineer I was thinking that he was joking. So I can picture Cullen doing maybe jobs that we won't picture him doing at all.
I just can't think of him as painter... somehow I can't. I can imagine him as piano player tho. Not as a career choice but some hobby maybe? It can get really competitive & requires practice & diligence for perfection & mastery (something I can picture him craving so much).
But still, Engineer!Cullen

Indeed, and found myself almost sobbing uncontrollably at the end of ME3, 4 pts, all 3 of the normal endings and the MEHEM ending. I was truly emotionally invested in that game.

Nope. Those are vanilla versions of Cullen. TBH, I still find him hotter in DA2. Not sure why folks think he's unattractive. :shrug:

He's quite hot alright in DA2. But that jaw & chin getting a wee bit smaller in DA:I no? It was much more square in DA2. Not really the same face actually... But from DA:O to DA2 it's basically the same face, just the hotness slider set to max + they improve his eyes
And his voice is much rougher & flat in DA2, but that's his voice alright. In DA:I there's much more depth there, somehow.

In terms of comparison, Cullen is Kaidan, Varric is Garrus, Sera is Jack, Morrigan is Miranda, Iron Bull is Vega (and also voiced by FPJr), Blackwall is Zaeed, Merrill is Tali, Leliana is Liara and Solas is (a far nicer) Javik.

I read a so called "plausible theory" that the next protagonist could be shep's kid?? How is that even viable?!? I don't know if I can emotially handle following the same character around for three more games. It had seemed they were gonna make Hawke our canon hero, but I was heartbroken enough as it was with her, soooo glad they didn't do that! I hope quizzy is a one shot deal too.

I like Liara and even I was like... "Dude, did she just screw me?" during that scene. It didn't help that the the light in the distance you were rushing towards, looks like a certain part of anatomy when you look at it a certain way...

Hotter in DA2 than DAI??
I think that and a new engine, the faces render better now. He looks amazing in this game compared to the last 2, but again.. just an opinion.

Yeah, not so much in my opinion. I couldn't stand Kaidan - even though he knew Shepard, he still turned his back and abandoned him/her when he was needed most. Cullen wouldn't do that.
I see more similarity with Garrus than Kaidan.
