Yeah but they did not know this at the time, and I hated the fact it could be cured because the retacon it by trying to paint the practice as a morally grey issuse.

I actually liked the change that it could be cured. It completely strips any power the chantry or the templars ever had on mages.

It's just another example of how little we know about all the facts in this world. But unless it becomes utterly abused, I doubt the seekers would share the knowledge outside of their order. Plus, I believe only the main seeker leader guy knew there was a cure anyway, til cass got a hold of his book. We're privvy to it because of her, and if something were to happen to the Inquisitor or warden, you can bet they'll pool resources to find a fix.

Regardless of a cure or not, that would be an interesting story to tell.

I think it feels like less of a retcon having read Asunder. The word is now out because Wynne and Shale sent the info about the cure out to all the Circles. It was shocking to hear that the Seekers have known all along, but then... they came up with the practice, and the Circles, in the first place. The thing about the cure, tho, is that the restored individual is unstable. So it may not really be much of a "cure" after all. Definitely makes things interesting, tho.

That's an interesting conversation with Cullen in DA2, because that was back when he makes a marked point, all throughout that Act, to not tell you what *he* thinks. Most of his comments, including on the Tranquil Solution, are on what "people" think and what the common opinion is. He was so caught up in the Templar Order PR tapdance on so many of those topics. It's such a breath of fresh air for him to be able to tell us what he actually thinks in DA:I.

100% this. I'm getting so frustrated in my dialogue with him because he's chugged the meredith kool-aid and we know the kind of man he really is.

You should go talk to him. Funny I just did this yesterday.

Oh yaaah will do. I was on a mission to sleep with anders and fenris last night (success! Man anders was so moody when I wouldn't let him move in!) so I'll run over to cullen tonight! :D

I know. For me, there are lots of angles where he looks a little different. But that one is pure Alistair to me. *sigh* Ah, my first Dragon Age love.

Ah, I feel ya. We're getting snow AGAIN. Intense joy.

D'aww, she's so pretty!!

She's my flirty/playful rogue so I'm glad she turned out! I went back and forth between black hair and the lightest orange hair...don't judge me. XD

Since some of us are doing something for the 5k page, I was wondering how everyone was doing with their creative work? I'm currently debating my story's ending and a new idea that popped into my head.

So just played the cullen tranquil solution bit. We, they, argument to be made...so obtuse!!

I guess they had to keep him likeable and not make him seem deadset on one set of ideals, like dao. Left more wiggle room to develop who he'd become . Okay back to dai now :) game a.d.d.!

A bit OT, but I thought this was super interesting to hear, considering some discussions we've had about Samson, Alexius and Denam in the past: apparently, if you fill up the prison cells, your prisoners start bantering among themselves!

Or... at least they were supposed to. Even on the test playthrough where I sent everyone to jail I never even saw them in their cells, leave alone hear any banter there.

Servis and Knight-Captain Denam.

You find Servis in the Western Approach and Denam if you side with the templars.

Oh right - Servis, I remember now.  I only did Templars once and it's been a while. That pic of the prisoners really illustrates the lack of hair options for stock characters - sheesh.

I think I'm close to a final draft on one story. My other story, originally sorta catalyzed by the "memories" theme, may not be done.

I don't think they were making him wishy washy to make us like him. If they had.... I think he would've been a lot more likable in DA:O. I think at the time he believed that the Circle works, and part of that is having an option for mages who can't control their power without having to kill them. It was the closest we've come to someone representing what the Order thinks about these things. That being said... he didn't know that the Right was being used "illegally" and didn't delve into the philosophical grey areas of it.

I can totally understand class restricted armor, and a few race gated armors as well. Such as the Dalish Keeper armor set and stuff like that, but I wish there was no race gated armor. Lol, well if you ever do simply want to see what it would look on a companion. I would suggest Cassandra since it makes Blackwall look like an emaciated old man. The Legion of the Dead armor is close to 10k I believe, so have fun shelling out that gold. It always makes me cringe when I buy such expensive things in DA:I...even though I do have over 50k of legit gold.

Latest IQ...and I still haven't finished the three before her, lol!

Spoiler

I haven't found the Dalish armor, where is it sold/found? Yes, I'm going to think long and hard about dropping 10K on that armor (and the price for the war nug probably means I won't ever get that for my dwarves.) Sadly, it's a lot harder to get the non-human race-gated stuff in general (except the carta armor in the Hinterlands which never lasts more than 3 or 4 hours of game time.)

Silverite would remove the race gating on some of them (or is it class gating only?), but I think that's only found in upper level areas anyway. If I'm going to put in that much time, materials, and money, I'd like something I got to wear/make new versions of for a while :P

Aw man, I've never even had one in there to talk to me, let alone to each other! Gah... I can't wait for a real patch.

I always judge right away. Guess I'll have to leave a few down there next time!

I just finished most of Champions of the Just for the first time this afternoon, and I was careful to go into Cullen's cell and not leave, but he never said anything. Josephine and almost everyone else in there did say something. Dunno if it's glitched, or it's just random who speaks.

In my experience, his dialogue easily glitches out. I've had the best luck if you immediately go into his cell (to the left) once you get to the end. If you trigger the sobbing guy at the end of the corridor (to the right) it will glitch out.

You can find it in the Hissing Wastes at that one merchant, it also costs around 10K. It is only for Elves and for Rouges, but you can use Snourflaur skin*gives the arms and legs a dark crimson color* to get rid of the class restriction...silverite or Dalas Loden cloth aren't able to be used for it.

I'm not sure. I will have to test the Silverite thing out and I will get back to you. Silverite is really only found in Emprise Du Lion, sometimes in the Hissing Wastes, or in random loot drops. Yeah, the last thing you want to do is make something that you like for one moment and then realize that you wanted it in another color. I typically make two versions of the same armor.

I don't have a screenshot of exactly what he says, but he mentions that he blames himself for letting the IQ turn the Inquisition into a "blood pit." When I ran that quest with my one character that didn't recruit the mages, it really punched her in the gut.

Did you try and get killed during the nightmare sequence? The special "game over" text is pure nightmare fuel...

I have a question for all of your re: Cullen's lyrium addiction. He has that conversation with Cassandra about her watching him and potentially taking over, if I recall correctly.

If he becomes incapacitated, and can't function as the Commander, couldn't he just start taking the lyrium again? At that point would the withdrawal effects be irreversible? I'm confused.

So I had to share this with you guys. I was digging through some old vids and found this gem:

The Pants!

The best part is that Dorian's like "didn't even notice..." just as they're walking by. Talk about Bedknobs and Broomsticks!  ^_^

Cullen for OT!

Oh, and *waves*.  Hey, guys.  I haven't posted here in the past few days.  I don't have much on topic stuff to say about Cullen since I started the Blackwall romance.  Speaking of which, Dennet really is a pervert... o.O

Here's a Cullen to make up for my off-topicness:
