Publish on FF.net as well? There you just have a drop-down list for the characters you like - so any pairing is possible.
Yeah most of my stuff is on FFN ... I just thought everyone was migrating to AO3 so I wanted to be "cool" and start posting there instead
Doh.
Male Lavellan / Cullen Rutherford is definitely a tag on AO3. I've never written fanfiction, though, so I have no idea how tags are specified there in terms of actual posting mechanics.
Ohh? Huh! I... just... SUCK... at using their tags!

It's just, that story is so
oocAU at this point (since I wrote it before DAI came out) that I'm not sure I can bear to continue it
There. Fixed it for ya. ![]()
A good story is always worth reading.

You might also want to make sure you're using the broadest possible choice of dragon age. I always use Dragon Age All Media Types, just to be on the safe side. (and their tags are difficult... you're not the only one!!)

I've noticed something.
During the 'assault" on Samson's hideout, you find a letter left for Cullen written by Samson. Cullen reads the letter, but I noticed his final sentence changes.
Thus here is my question: Does this sentence change on the bases of you completing "Perseverance" or after smexy time?
Anyone know?

OMG, in my opinion, YES! An advantage of AO3 is its freeform tag system, but a major disadvantage is its freeform tag system.
In some ways, I think AO3 is like the perfect fanfic site, like how I would design it myself... and then I try to use the f*cking tags. Or worse... try to browse using the tags.
In contrast, FF.n is cleaner... but way more limited. I think they *still* haven't even added Justinia as a character. ![]()

Doh.
I feel bad sometimes because I find AO3 really easy to browse and FF.N really clunky (although tbh the amount of Cullen for both now is kind of overwhelming... after November I ended up just subscribing to a few people and not really trying to find new things anymore) but y'all who actually create the content there seem to feel the opposite!

I remember it being the same for my Cullenmancing Trevelyan and my Solasmancing Lavellan, both of whom did Perseverance: he reads the letter and then pretty much ends it "blah, blah, blah." So if my memory is correct, that would point to romance not being involved. What are the different endings?

What did you notice it changing to? I think I've only gotten "and other nonsense" and I *think* I have already had smexy time and perserverance by then.

Mornin guys! Hope my fellow north easterners aren't popsicles! This is a pseudo ot question but it'll me write parts of my cullen fic. We've talked plenty about mooshy gushy music that inspires our romantic side. But I'm pretty sure our quizzies are supremely badass as well
if your cullenmance quizzy were to go forth with, say, viv, cass and sera, what bad girl music would you listen too?? So far I have M.I.A "bag girls" and "yala" on my playlist, particularly for it's great baseline. Any other suggestions for lady badassery as I write?
O_O A MUSIC SHARING SESSION WITHOUT ME....BLASPHEMY!
Amaranthe, Evanescence, Halestorm, Paramore. All of those are bands that I would use for some music with a party filled with a badass IQ, Vivi, Sera, and Cass.

When I first started this game, I did not complete "Perseverance nor smexy time. I completed "Before the Dawn" assuming these scenes would not trigger unless it was completed.
I remember Cullen saying something to the effect, "As if I would sympathize."
Then later after doing both, his sentence changed to something else "As if I would understand."
Don't hold me to these words, I am not sure if that is the exact pharsing, but it DOES change. Which leads me wonder if the dialogue changes on account of your relationship with Cullen being locked or do to "Perseverance" completed.
Also got me thinking too if the dialogue changes on account of him taking or not taking lyrium again.
Hmm. I may to do some testing before this drives me bonkers. ![]()

I prefer writing and reading third person, but that isn't to say that first person is wrong or anything. Just think about how you want your story to come across to yourself and your readers.

It depends.
If your telling the story from your character's perspective then first is the way to go.
If your telling the story as a whole, then third person.
I uh, hope that makes sense.

I have written it in third. It just feels odd to me, something I am not use too.

I loved him in DA2 and hoped he'd play a bigger role (he did near the end), but after getting to see a more personal side of him (since he stopped running away, unless you flirt with him lol) I realized he's the best choice for a LI and good friend. I met Steve Blum last year and he told me about Greg Ellis and what a great guy he is and actor, and he loved his work in DA as Cullen too! Lol
He's not a Disney Prince like some say though. He went through so much pain and confusion and did many wrong things that he's still paying for, but just because his romance doesn't end in deception or being dumped, doesn't mean it's all roses either. You are basically romancing a guy who had pretty bad mental issues and an addiction, and it made him more human to me that way. I really love how his character grew and changed based on his exp and he became a stronger man who could finally initiate a kiss! Lol

Well, what tense are you using? Present or past? I find third person a little odd in present tense, so if you do write in third person...past tense is something that I find easier to understand/flow better.

I've written both my Hawke and inquisitor stories in first person, I guess because I'm used to playing the game from that perspective, plus I think it's easier for readers to relate to a first person Hawke or inquisitor instead of third person... but in most other cases, I write in third person.

He's far from a Disney Prince. I think the issue is: people look at Cullen and assume that is what he is.
While I find Cullen to be a decent looking man, his personality is what attracted I-er my character to him. Here is a man who0 does not give up. That to me is an amazing thing to have.
