I'm going to gush some more about the subtle bits of characterization they created for Cullen. Hope no one minds.
Someone in this thread pointed out that he seems to be a very tactile person, which I hadn't noticed until they mentioned it, but after watching more closely I can definitely see that. One thing I noticed in particular is how much he loves to touch her face, as if that gesture feels especially intimate or reassuring to him - it happens in the first kiss scene, the recurring one, in what I call the "proposal" scene, again after he wakes up the next morning, and finally during the prayer scene (depending on dialogue choice). Which makes it even more special when the PC gets a chance to reciprocate after he wakes up from his nightmare. Such wonderful little nuances
I think that was meeEEEeeeee hi *v*
And yes! It really struck me how he'd be so calmed at the Quizzy's touches. Besides the hand on his chest during Perseverance, there was also that one right after on the battlements where he's worried you think less of him after his episode but then looks so happy after your Quizzy reaches out to pat his arm (which some might think was gruff or aggressive, haha! I thought it was cute, though, and I don't tend to touch random people unless making heartfelt statements so it resonated with me).
Also, his fondness for little headbumps of affection is adorable. His hand goes up to rub his forehead in frustration so often that I imagine it's a welcome change to feel the warmth of Quizzy's forehead there instead, LOL! Love that contrast between his exasperated/discontent touches and his touches of love. Under that reserved exterior beats a passionate heart, and it shows both in the way he punches the bookcase to release his anger and in the way he sweeps the things off his desk to get ready for sexy time. He's a warrior, I imagine he's very physically in-tune with the world that way.
Sort of related - what the Quizzy says about the lyrium box when he throws it ("I'm sure the box had it coming") actually somewhat reflects his relationship with many found objects. The bookshelf, the things on his desk, the daggers he chucks at the dummies. Woe to you if you are an inanimate object within Cullen's grasp.
