Just a thought... In DA:O, apparently all "Potential Wardens" from the 6 Origins exist, but only 1 survive.

Is it possible that actually all DA:I Origins (Human Mage, Human Noble, Dwarf, Qunari, Elf) exist but only one survive the conclave...?

@ EliisaHowe: At this point probabaly not. Once your romance is logged in you can't romance anybody else.

Like were all the other would be inquisitors there at the conclave? That's....huh! That's interesting! So like my Lavellan could have been chatting up your Trevelyan or something and then *boom*! I like it :) and sad, actually :(

Quizzy made good use of the bridge and ran straight across to Cullen, but when she flirts with him he still thinks she's in a relationship.  Clearly the rumours don't move as quickly as he thinks they do!  Is it possible to romance Cullen after this?

It's only possible to romance anyone after Solas if you're the one who breaks up with him; otherwise you get stuck with a ghost romance flag that leaves you unavailable to anyone else. If you're not too far from that scene, you can roll back your save and use the dialogue option to break up with him before he dumps you, and you'll be free to romance Cullen afterwards. (if you still have any flirts left with Cullen to initiate his romance, of course)

It's the most likely theory, yeah. Even if the survivor is the human noble, the human mage might still have been there with her Circle; even if the survivor is a dwarf smuggler or qunari merc, the Dalish clan would still have sent their representative/spy, etc. We have more or less the same scenario as DAO, all the other potential Inquisitors die so yours can live.

Hi all,

Quick question - I just got

Spoiler

Also - meet Carida Cadash(ian) - my first ever dragon age dwarf!  I was aiming for a sleek, nordic look with her, as most of the dwarves I've seen have been fairly traditional Oghren style dwarves - I'm really pleased with how she turned out.  She's the most outgoing, direct sister of a matriarchal carta family of hourglass figured ladies...
ScreenshotWin32_0007_Final_zps9410f65d.p

Very nice! I think you got what you were going for. Though honestly, while there are a fair number of traditional male dwarves with pics being posted on the dwarven thread, there are lots who are not, and the female dwarves are probably some of the most diverse in appearance that I've seen.

Hmm... If this is the case, you know what's the most sad thing? Noble Trevelyan & Mage Trevelyan are siblings...

And now I remember Emegustart draws her Mage!Inquisitor!Trevelyan's back story with her Noble!Trevelyan Templar brother... Ouch.

Okay....so I'm a brand spankin' beginner at drawing and the cullen drawing club has helped alot but I'd be remiss if I didn't throw it on here because i dont think its too shabby for a noob and i must thank MelissaGT for the amaaaaazing source document!!! <3 thaaaank yoooou! When you get to the shrine of dumat for new screenies, I'll be on Cullen with a renewed fervor :D

I haven't gotten dumped by Solas yet, but like Caja said, if you didn't choose the option to break off the relationship, then the game still thinks you're romanced. Apparently Solas's romance isn't fully locked until that scene anyway. So, I think you're done, dude. :(

Huh! Very interesting notion. I suppose it could be true. Only snafu I could see if that there'd be only one Trev presumably, since I don't think the Trev backstory includes you and a sibling being at the Conclave. Or at least, I would assume.

There are some artists & writers who made the notion of Sibling Lavellans (Mage & Hunter) & Sibling Trevelyans (Noble/Templar and Mage). So far I haven't found anything that indicate they can't co-exist. In one of them (Emegustart) she even has Mage!Trevelyan & her brother Templar!Trevelyan at Ostwick Circle at the same time.

Edit: I'm still waiting to see whether Emegustart will send both the Mage!Trevelyan & Templar!Trevelyan to Conclave or not...

Um ouch. Talk about Cullen be coming much like his character in DA2. It's like a damn blizzard hit that room.

So what happens when you tell Cullen to stop after he started?

Thanks a bunch for posting the video, Mel.

Even before the game launched, that was the scenario most people seemed to be going for with their future Inquisitors in the old Trevelyan thread. It does make for some interesting and potentially heartbreaking headcanons, yeah.

I originally had one of those for my own Quizzies (Ari's original description a million pages ago included a mage brother that I never got to play, if I remember correctly), but since the theory didn't really work out for me in practice, I now headcanon all my Trevelyans as cousins rather than sisters. We do know the Trevelyan clan is pretty large but not very tight-knit, so having all my girls be cousins from different branches of the same family worked out better for me - some are very uppity and full of noble fancies, others barely have any connection to the family other than the name, a couple were as close as sisters, others only vaguely knew their cousins from bigger family events, etc.

Sorry, should have explained better. Do you get the cutscene with Cullen on the battlements after? Furthermore does the relationship carry forward as Cullen is no taking it-prayer scene, him being less bitter etc.?

I was one of those who'd headcannoned the youngest Trev sibling at the conclave when the mage Trev survived. I've been assuming that all the origins were at the conclave, but only one person was in the right place to survive. Unfortunately, that mage personality and backstory was completely at odds with what we appear to have been presented in game in regards to the Ostwick circle, so Ryumka Trevelyan will never see the light of day.

Ah, that I have no idea on. That would involve a lot of backtracking, lol.

Maybe in another playthrough I will do it - that option just didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Either ask him to take it or not. That "waffling" option just re-sets him back to "0" again, basically wiping away any progress he already had.

Actually, if it does play out that way, I should get a battlements scene after leaving skyhold and coming back. I'll try it!

I've had good luck with my Alienware 18, but I know a lot of people will tell you avoid anything Dell-related. ;)

I would stay far far far away from anything related to Dell (and thus Alienware by default). Besides, you're paying for the name.

It's just that everybody I've ever known irl that bought Dell have had problems (I can think of several off the top of my head). My b/f's dad has had severe problems and still buys Dell, and every one he gets is loaded with problems. He just continues to buy them because he doesn't know any better, despite my offers of picking out a system for him. Then I join these forums and I've seen numerous folks having problems with their Dell/Alienware. I'm sure there are good ones out there, but I would never buy one after what I've seen. A lot of folks probably don't even realize that custom-building is a possibility - that and you can save some good $$$ in going that route because you aren't paying for a name. If I don't try my hand at assembling myself next time around (or go to a local shop to assemble for me), I will go to CyberPowerPC again and would recommend them to anybody (provided you spend the time to pick out name-brand components and not buy an "off the shelf" system).

@Cantina - I just gave it a shot and did not get a battlements scene after leaving Skyhold and coming back.

Actually, I have to second the caution about Dells after a certain amount of dealing with them at two different jobs. Their warranty service can be...interesting. Alienwares tend to get somewhat better service because they're high end, but still...

Custom builds are a lot more variable; the trick is to find someone who stands behind their work and will help with warranty replacements if needed. My custom builds have been much, much better computers than computers off the shelf, but they were built by people I knew personally.

I agree with this.  I had a friend build my PC for me.  He showed me things on-line, excellent tutorials that show you how to build your own computer. East lists that explain what you need to do it, which parts to buy, and how to check for compatibility.  We picked out all the parts, and when they all got here, it took him like 1-2 hours to put it all together.  I watched every step.  Now, if I ever buy a computer again, I will do it myself because I have seen that it is not rocket science and is totally doable.  If you can turn a screwdriver, you can build your own PC.  So my advice...find someone who knows how and have them help you buy all the individual pieces.  Then get an online tutorial and do it or see if they will help you out.  I spent 1.5ka on a computer that would have cost be 2.5ka to buy from Dell.  And it has everything I want on it and nothing I don't.  3-years in, and it is still baddass!

I just uploaded another chapter in the massive DAO fic.  It is one I have been wanting to write for a long time, and is actually the first image that ever popped in my head when i decided to write the whole fic.  Roland and Elissa, sitting along in a long dark hallway...two friends, just talking.  Being honest and open and real with one another.  I love the image of two people who really care about each other, sitting face to face, talking softly.  I wish I could draw it (something beautiful in pencil like the above pic). Cross-legged like children sit when they share secrets, face to face, bad posture, leaning in close to one another, hands almost touching...two bodies whose shadows look like a heart.  I love that imagery!

As you all know, I recently bought an Alienware just to play DAI :)

It worked fine until the night I downloaded DAI. That's when everything started going crazy. To this day I'm convinced it has something to do with the driver I had to download the night DAI was released. I may have installed it in correctly or... who knows. There also may have been a problem with the fan.

In any case, once I finally did actually contact Dell, and yes there was a two hour conversation with a very friendly fellow who had a very thick accent... but once that was done, a technician was schedule to come to my house and replace the video card and the fan. And he did. And now everything works perfectly. I play DAI on Ultra setting with no problems.

I bought my Alienware x51 R2 for about 850 (with tax came to 950). It was refurbished. But it came with a year full warranty. So I would say, Dell/Alienware is okay so long as you have a warranty. Buy refurbished to save money. For someone like me who is not knowledgeable enough to build their own PC, this was truly the best option.

And... in other news... I finished my 5K fic!!!!! :D With a little help from the fanfic group :D It's very rough and honestly not very good; I feel the confession scene happens too fast and out of nowhere, but hey, I finished it. I will have something to contribute, and that makes me happy. And M!Lavellan fans will have one more fic out there to read ^^

Just wanted to add that you don't really need any PC knowledge at all to buy from on-line custom places like CyberPowerPC. Once you pick your "base" price-point, the site takes you through a wizard where you can tweak what you want. It won't let you buy something that isn't compatible. If you need additional information, you can easily find it on the site. There's also a wonderful user community off the main site where you can post your prospective build and they will help you tweak to your specific needs. They are very nice and were very helpful to me when I first did my build.

CyberPowerPC units come with a standard 1-year warranty, which can be extended upon the intial purchase. I've contacted them several times in the beginning with questions (no actual issues) and they got back to me quickly within the allotted 24hr turnaround for e-mail correspondence. However, with your specific problem, you would have had to ship the system back to them for service. They don't have techs that will come to your house.

I also just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be going into a "dry spell" with my videos on the Templar romance. Once I finish the lake-date, Rhiannon won't have any cut-scenes til she gets to Halamshiral, which will be a little while. Ooooh I can't wait to get shots of Cullen in his fancy-prince outfit!!!

Have a Cullen!

OMG, are you serious??

If you could draw that...I would print it out and hang it above my desk at work!!! I already have drawings of Dune, Tolkien, and Sherlock Holmes...I need some DAO to complete the wall-oh-happy-stuff!

Let's see..if you are reading it still, the scene I am talking about is all the way in Chapter 22 (For those We Love).  But if there is another scene you like better, I would be stoked to see anything you draw!!!! :D

I would also be happy to link to it from the story, if you wanted to share with other folks...
