He's really introverted so I guess that an extremely extroverted person might get him slightly nervous, at first at least.

He just... aged 10 years. Or more. And imagine that tickle feeling when you kiss him, that's one of the reason I don't want to do BW's romance. Even it's my inquisitor who has to kiss him.

I think Cullen would do much better with someone who has a lighter personality and is able to bring that side out of him. I'm not saying that older characters wouldn't be able to do that, but...I just realized I don't really know how to explain it. Hmm...
You're not a dirty old woman. You are a strong, independent, Tishina who bows to no trend!
I think I know what you're getting at, though I don't think that's an aspect of physical age. I also think he would do very well with someone who was very stable and unflappable, especially if they had a strong sense of humor. Very few people only do well with a very restricted range of personalities. There may be one or two qualities that are particularly important to them, but people are complex, thank goodness. Like MelissaGT said, I would imagine him having some trouble coping with someone who was genuinely too immature and self-centered to notice others.

Well, there's a difference between being an extrovert and being childish (not being able to conduct oneself as an adult when the time calls for it). I think the perfect example is Alistair. I would say he's an extrovert, but he also knows when to take things seriously. For anybody to be respected as the IQ, I would think he/she would need to be able to act like it as needed. Being an extrovert would actually make things easier for someone in that role. But someone who is incapable of conveying the aura of "I'm the Inquisitor and command the most powerful force in Thedas" would never be taken seriously.
And to add to that, to me, being silly/giggly/goofy from time to time doesn't mean being childish. Folks of any age benefit from some good levity now and again.
And beards...there are hawt young bearded guys out there! Not sure about your area, but they're coming back in force around here (NE US).

Personally, I would recommend the Grey Warden armor from DA2 (especially since they used it again in DAI - keeps things consistent).
I second the Grey Wardens of Ferelden. I ended up stripping out all my mods in frustration, but that one I reinstalled. My brain simply will not accept that the Wardens didn't always dress in Warden blue. ![]()

Good lord that must have been embarrassing. I have hair down to my lower back and it ends up everywhere. I joke around about it saying that I'm marking my territory.
Mine is around the middle of my back, so it still likes to flip around and apparently entwine itself into braces. It didn't help that the guy was a creep either, ugh this is why I do not party. Creepy people are indeed creepy.
That's so hilarious. I got my sweater caught on someone's braces before which is not as bad as your situation but still awkward x) okay back to on topicness. How's your contribution for page 5000 coming?
It was indeed hilarious to my friends and those around me, it was not amusing for me....
As for my story, well, I have finally started to get some free time this week so I have been able to edit the parts that I've been trying to edit for a little while now. I've been making progress.

Beards tickle, and in good ways
. Fortunately for my tastes, some guys in my age group have continued wearing beards fairly continuously. I'm not wild on the really long ones (Blackwall's is borderline for me), but a nicely trimmed one you can play with is a lot of fun.

And doesn't his armor have a rating of 40 or something in that mission?
Since this is your first time, just making sure you know that he is supposed to help you fight the Behemoth, at least he did in my games.
His armor rating is 38, I believe. And when you see him in prologue (when you chose to charge with the soldiers), his rating is 30ish. It is so low that Leliana during prologue is higher than this (she has 40). He literally has to drink potions every time a red templar hit him on hard lol. It doesn't help when I went solo with him and busy taking sceenshots with the couple. Poor Cullen. At least he won't be incapacitated like Leliana. He is tough!

Yes!! Your elves actually have the beauty that they're always described as having (like Katriel in the Stolen Throne). Humans are my strong suit. I still haven't made a dwarf or qunari yet though, and I'm dying to. But I think the fact that I can't romance cullen with them is holding me back.

Lol, that sounds horrible! My hair isn't full-blown curly but it has some curls to it and those locks of hair just happened to be the ones that got wrapped up in that stranger's braces. And now you just reminded me of a time when I was in 7th grade and a damn seagull jacked my blueberry muffin. I had just finished running a few miles for my track team and naturally I stopped to eat and drink, of course I sat my muffin down and a seagull swooped down and stole my muffin. If I recall correctly...I was very annoyed.

Aww, thank you! Blech...Katriel...I still have some annoyed moments when I think about Rowen hearing Maric and Katriel getting in on in his tent. That was so well written and I could feel Rowen's pain. Although I am going to take it as compliment in the way that Maric would be chasing after my elves or at least enamored by them. Malia would toy with him and Halinia would probably punch him in the neck the first second he opened his mouth. I tried to make a dwarf...and Ti saw the result of that one. He looked like he had spent way too much time around lyrium, lol. I made one Qunari and she turned out decently for my first time.

I could easily picture him with someone a little younger. Age is just a number. But, in my opinion (remember, this is my IMO), I don't picture him being interested in someone that is completely childish. I'm at a loss for words trying to describe the specific personality I'm talking about, so let me give you an example. Picture trying to get your grocery shopping done and there's a gaggle of giggly girls running around the store. They're noisy. They say the word "like" every five seconds. They're now in front of you in line and oh look, the one paying gets a call on her cell. Instead of handling the transaction with the cashier, she takes the call, all while giggling merrily, and holds everybody up. All you can do is roll your eyes. It doesn't matter what age they are - they could be high school, they could be late 20's - I've seen all ages. Yeah I think he'd have a hard time with that type of personality, regardless of age. Then again, I don't think that type of person would make it as IQ.
Don't get me wrong, I can get plenty giggly and silly too. But there's a time and place for everything. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I think he'd be fine with someone that can be both silly and lighthearted, but also serious as a heart attack when the time calls for it. Now, playing pranks with Sera and flinging some jokes to ease the mood? Sure thing - totally a prerequisite. Even all-business Rhiannon gets a little silly now and again.
*edit*
Tishina said it perfectly - it's all about life experience...
A lot of it depends on what you consider your IQ's back story is. While I don't typically talk about my own past, I think it makes the point I am looking for in this. I was 20, when my husband died during Gulf War 1, I was left a widow and a new Mom, with a month old child. I went home and suddenly everyone I knew my age I couldn't talk to or didn't seem to understand them. So a 20 yr old IQ who maybe lost a brother in a battle and he died in her arms or whatever else, could be young and somewhat fun and playful due to her age could be very much mature enough to be a a good IQ.
So I think Cullen could really go for a woman who brings a youthful happiness that would give him a lighter moments that he would probably need to cope not on;y with what is going on with the breech and all, but also the darker parts of his fight with Lyrium and someone who has seen whatever that made her know how rough life is and takes the IQ seriously and is good at what she is doing.
On that note, I had a writing request for a fic with a 20 yr old Trevelyan and some details she wanted and didn't finish it cause it just wasn't working for me. She just wanted her to be to flighty and stuff to really make me feel like she would be not only a good IQ, but a woman Cullen would even want.

I don't know what to say about your backstory, other than I'm sorry. I can't imagine what it was like to go through, but I'm sure it made you into a stronger person because of it. I too have had some hardship, though not to your extent. I found myself in a relationship fresh out of high school that turned abusive. Not abusive in the sense of physical abuse, but he controlled all of our money. It didn't start out that way, but when we moved in together, things started to merge and I guess I just let it happen. My paychecks went into his account that I didn't have access to. In the end, I would have to ask him for money to buy his own Christmas and birthday presents. I had to ask his permission to do anything. Then one day when I was 25 (he was 27), he up and told me he was leaving me for an 18 year old. At the time I only worked part-time because we had a full-time home-business (breeding reptiles, don't ask). He sold off our stock, pocketed the money, and left. All of a sudden, I had to get a "real" job so that I could live on my own. Thankfully I did. What I went through sucked. It was hard. But in the end, it made me a stronger person because of it. I honestly would have to thank him. He wouldn't be able to handle a woman like who I am today. Everything I own today is all because of me and nobody else. And that's the way I will keep it. So that's my hardship story. Sorry for the side-track.
I didn't mean to say that he wouldn't be interested in someone with youthful happiness. In truth, someone can have youthful happiness at any age. At 33, I think i share my own version of "youthful happiness," especially when I get all giddy around a hot classic muscle car. In your case, you were 20 and had already had more life experience than a lot of 30 year olds. What I meant to convey, is what I think you are talking about in your final paragraph about your fic. Tishina said it perfectly earlier - I would imagine him having some trouble coping with someone who was genuinely too immature and self-centered to notice others. That's exactly what I meant. Age has no bearing on that - I've met plenty of "almost 40's" that have the emotional maturity of 10 year olds.
