Most of you probably know by now what type of music I like, but this is actually a decent country song. I like it. I suppose you could call this a slight teaser for my story, this song is much lighter than some I have shared.

I've been staring at / working on this 5k fur mantle for so long now, that I don't know if I like it... or just want to set it on fire. Someone please tell me that I did not just make it 100 times worse  :

As a sidenote, the joys of taking screenshots is also my bane. SRWE (the tool I use for hotsampling and aspect ratios) has corrupted my game...again. Yay repair install! Yay having to patch all my mods again!

Used version 1.24 of the DAI Modding Tool for this mod, so best to use version 0.47 of the Mod Manager to install it. Also, Cullen's body may occasionally be invisible for a few seconds while the texture loads.

 

Ugh. I have very little experience with textures, and even less experience with painting fur. Ah, well. There was an attempt.

The result of me running into Solas's room before the floor finished loading.  If you fall through the map like that in Skyhold, you can see it. Whatever it is.

I def think you made it look more like fur and less like feathers. The only thing that bugs me is the way it looks sorta "rolled under" where the texture ends on his upper arms. I'm pretty sure the vanilla one does that too, so I imagine that's something unavoidable?

It was in spoiler and those who want to read it can read it, it's not like I force anyone Better this way than sending PM's to anyone who wants to know about situation which is 100% about our fandom I won't post anymore about it than that though.

It would be better to actually remove links to this controversy, spoiler or not. Seconding, thirding fourthing, athousanding the fact that we do not want it here, and the reverberations could get our thread closed. The clarification was requested in a PM, which is where it should have been. 

 

No "long stories short" etc. This controversy is ripping apart the fandom. Don't let it happen to our thread as well.

I was glad there was some info in a spoiler as I don't really know anyone on here and would feel weird about requesting PM. Besides, nobody here is actually talking about the contents/the situation but only about whether or not it should be in the thread. And, personally, such obvious "hush hush" tactics only create more interest instead of diminishing it. Those who wish to know what's up can read for themselves, the wish not to discuss it in the thread has been mentioned several times and has, as far as I can tell, been pretty much respected. The best course of action is to move on entirely from it instead of moving the discussion to a meta level.

Allright guys... I'm officially sad now... The blasted patch had blasted the banters! And not even companion banter, advisors messenger banters too!! I used to get many from Josie & a good amount from Cullen. Now NADA.

 

After every patch it's bad bad bad things. Can I play without patch please BW?

My 2 cents: I really find the "ignore & don't talk about it" method might work well after a good & careful clarification (once and once only). There are already places people are discussing about it, mostly Tumblr & Twitter, I'd prefer the battle stays there. Sh*tstorm can only happen if there are discussions. If everyone refuse to discuss about topic that'll do the war, there'll be no war since we get to a mutual concession not to start war among ourselves. If someone starts a fire it'll die quickly if no one feeds it.

 

Personally I would prefer to have a save haven here to share more friendly & positive stuffs (really, with everything going negative in my life right now I would love to have a place where people stays positif, no hate no bully). This thread's not always a place where we all agree, there's lots of disagreement about opinions but it's still really positive since everyone's generally respect other's headcannons & opinions etc. Usually it leads to interesting discussions.

 

But that's my personal view, if it happens otherwise (hope not) that's not for me to say.

Seconded, this is part of why I'm loathed to ever start using Twitter. Too much feuding over bad jokes, off the cuff remarks or the odd error in judgement, so that even if someone apologises, it's too late as it's been blown way out of proportion and trench-warfare has already begun with the camps dug in.

 

I barely have enough energy to care about real world problems, let alone various internet scandals. If something on the net doesn't involve geeking out over a fandom or involve making silly jokes, my minds tends to start a-wandering...

 

But yeah, we should keep the thread free of whatever drama is on Twitter. Twitter is just 4chan's moonshine-shilling cousin from the boondocks, that won a settlement after an elephant innappropriately groped them at the zoo and used the money to move into a nicer house upmarket.

Yes, just to also chime in that BSN here is also different than other venues for such discussion. The fact that this ONE thread has been going in some fashion for a year or more is unusual. BSN is designed for short-term threads that start and either peter out or get locked for badness. The way this one persists is that it has to avoid getting locked or 'deleted,' things which have happened in the past due to badness.

We can often have tough discussions here in a safe way. But I *really* don't think this is one of them. Not yet. Maybe not ever.

Adding: I'm not sure a "good and careful clarification" is possible without bias. There are lots of good and careful people with widely diverging opinions right now on what exactly is happening. Besides the fact that this is an open forum, and as such, it's not always going to be the usual suspects, who know each other already, chiming in.
