My own little tidbit is that I hope Dragon Age NEVER comes close to Skyrim. Skyrim is amazing in the regards of how open it is, but the characters are bland, the writing is typical, and the quests are not as grand as Oblivion's were. I could care less about more immersion like a weather system or day/night cycle as long as the time spent is used on characters, their development, the story/quests, and overall lore. Lol, it would certainly be cool if Bioware added even more immersion, but yeah...btw this hopefully doesn't across as hostile or anything like that; just my opinion.

Well for anyone wondering... MP is a frakking disaster lol As I sit here staring at a black loading screen for the third time in a row. We did get one good round in

It was definitely a learning experience, lol. It didn't help we tried to do that with only 3 players...

My most vivid memory from this night was you two standing cluelessly over my lifeless body while Asperath wondered aloud, "There's no rez in this game...?" On the other hand, cruising through the whole level and spying on you guys from the Fade was preeeetty awesome xD

My most vivid memory from this night was you two standing cluelessly over my lifeless body while Asperath wondered aloud, "There's no rez in this game...?" On the other hand, cruising through the whole level and spying on you guys from the Fade was preeeetty awesome xD

Lol, sounds like that was a fun time! Some friends and I were trying out MP and I randomly started to repeat "Ima archer" in a rather musical manner...then I ran away screaming that when a behemoth killed the rest of my party.

Can confirm it. If you use the top and bottom dialogue options you get the final commentary from Dorian. If you use the middle option, you get the same concerned/surprised reaction from Cullen as he shows on the mage side, and the same "You will find a way" line.

 

Thank you both for the information, I didn't realize it depends on what my Inquisitor is saying, that is actually good news! Next time I try all conversation options when Cullen is present, especially in scenes with the other advisors - I normally select what I think fits best but I already noticed that depending on the conversation choice sometimes I get a reply from Cullen or the other advisors.

Ok next point:

- Cullen and Cass: I always wondered if they would wind up together if both are not romanced. I think they would fit well but I suppose with both being so heavily committed to their duties and likely working even in their free time they may see a relationship as just a distraction from the work. On the other side both are romanceable so it seems they can find a way to leave the work

 

- Cullen in Star Trek: uh, difficult. I love Star Trek but I can't say who reminds me of him. Maybe Archer? From the last series. He is dutiful and charming...

 

- Cole: I adore him but I really can't see him as a love interest. I always make him more spirit like because it seems as human he is still in pain

It was fun! Would've been more fun if my mic had worked I'm gonna have to check the settings to see if that's the problem, and if not, buy a new headphone set. Plus my computer restarted twice. Me and tech stuff, GEEZ!!!!!

The PS4 MP is pretty full and fun with people as long as you know what to do and can handle yourself in combat. Lol, yeah a mic makes things a lot easier and more fun! *shrugs* Remember you're talking to someone who had their new computer freak out and stay spazed out for a week. I know your pain all too well.

I've done my fair share of raiding on LoTRO (my b/f and I ran a guild), and I will never use a mic. I repeat, I. Will. Never. Use. A. Mic. For. Any. Game. 

 

It creeps me out - done. 

 

As a sidenote, I'm making good progress on my 5000 collage. I need one more image...hopefully I will find it by then. The one I have now just doesn't fit.

 If Bioware would get out of the Middle Ages on some development stuff and implemented a day/night cycle certainly would eliminate this type of awkwardness.

 

Ugh, no. I've never encountered a day/night cycle in a video game that I actually liked. And that's going all the way back to Simon's Quest.

However defending Bioware or EA for that matter is like trying to use Saran Wrap to protect yourself from a bullet.

 

If this was ten or fifteen years ago, I could see that, but this day an age game development has come along ways. Weather and Day/Night cycles are two different coding structures not one and the same

 

Can a game which uses cutscenes quite a bit implement a day and night cycle? Absolutely. It just depends on if the company is willing to do the work involved.

 

You or anyone else is probably thinking, "Well Bioware did do a lot of work on this game already." Yes and No. Yes to what work they put in, No to the fact they cut so much out of the game that WE the players got the bare bones of what it could have been. Why? Who the hell knows.

 

But I digress.  Getting back on track.

 

Skyrim took five years give or take in order to create the game. DAI took only three years. Thus this is why those cycles are implemented in Skyrim - more time and dedication from Todd and his team.

 

IF Bioware took steps in the direction Bethesda has taken over the years, DA could be much more then what it is.

 

It is not a matter of taking something over something else, its a matter of complacency and Bioware and EA are fully aware of this.

 

I for one would had something more in the signal player game, then this MP bs.

 

At any rate, I have said what is needed to say. I think its best we do not make this out into some back alley brawl simply because this is not the place for it. 

 

Not to continue the discussion, but I don't think I've ever seen a game with a day/night cycle that relied heavily on cutscenes. Skyrim cannot be used as an example in this instance. There are practically no cutscenes in-game. If you enter into a convo with bad lighting - well you just have that convo in bad lighting. Bioware games, on the other hand, are too cutscene-heavy. I've borked out flycam numerous times which caused normal "day" scenes to be shown at night. They looked horrible. The animation team would have to re-animate each cutscene many times over for every possible lighting combination (not just day or night, but everything in-between) in order to make them look right.

LOL! Use to run raids back in the day, Using a mic was required. I uh, heard some interesting things going on. Lets just say: I was directing a raid and a tank needed a break. NP. He forgot to put his mic on mute and well...he and his gf...yeah. When he got back, we were all laughing and giving him a hard time.

Yeah, I'm not very far in the MP and don't care for it all that much...but it is interesting and fun at times. If you did take all those wipes seriously then you would had been pretty enraged, at least I would had been.

No I just kept running from a pack of demons who seemed bound and determined to take out the poor innocent archer!

I hate how we have to share healing options, there were never any left! I did a lot of running away >.>
