I never chose that option so I had no idea Cullen would chastise the Quizzy for being bold with her bet, LOL! "You haven't even looked at your cards! (nose scrunch)" Pbbffft. Precious Cully doesn't like surprises.

That's actually the option I chose the first time I got to that scene, my Dalish warrior is all about "no guts, no glory." Though I did let him go for drinks, I love how eager he is by that point in the game.

I've concentrated on my DW so much that my Cullenmancer is now about 50 hours behind, but since I'm delaying WE/WH until I have enough time to focus on it, I'm back to her. And getting kisses on the battlements...

LOL! I always choose that option because I find it funny the way Cullen reacts.

What really gets me is how he was paying enough attention to her to notice that she hadn't looked at her cards at all since the moment she was dealt them. At any point before then he could have been listening to the others talk and she could have snuck a peek while everyone was making their bets, but no, he knows she didn't look at them because his attention was highly focused on her even amidst all the chatting. It just seems like a very specific thing to notice someone not doing while in a big party of actively talking people. "I've seen the way you look at me" indeed. cOUGH.

Maybe it was this sharp attention to detail that gave him the confidence to assume he knew what Josephine was up to, too

I don't know why I totally missed the option. I was wondering whether we could take up Bull's challenge to increase the bet to something larger, but I didn't even notice there was a choice to and always end up choosing "go easy on me". It's probably partly because I was self-inserting and really have no idea how Wicked Grace is played, so I just chose the option that's the closest to what I'd actually say in that situation. I need to think outside the box more :P

But yes! For all his initial complaining I love how he loosens up by the middle of the game and looks to be genuinely enjoying himself. *__*

Honestly I need to start playing the game again...for all my fangirling over the characters I've actually barely touched DAI for weeks. Miss the days when I'd clock 300 hours without a sweat. :U

I think  many writers write what they know and put personal threads into their stories. It's up to you whether you think the reader needs to know that or not. If the story stands on its own, and you're apprehensive, then maybe skip it. I've heard different opinions for how "chatty" readers wants their authors to be in endnotes and the like. So I go on a roller coaster of oversharing, less sharing, and now I'm back to sharing. Depends on how you feel.

On a DA:O tile, no, I haven't. I just whipped that one up while I was procrastinating at work today. I'm not really an Amell shipper... so it wouldn't be at the top of my list, but I could create one if you wanted.

Dunno. Some things to consider: How wedded are you to the ending you've written? Maybe your story is telling you it wants to go in another direction. If you still love the ending, then maybe sit down and do some simple outlining of the remaining plot points you want to hit before that ending, then start to jot in some details for how to connect them together?

Just a question: have you ever got a toxic comments while you're "chatty" with the end notes? I mean I don't mind people say "I don't like your story it's badly written" but I surely don't want Tumblr-style toxic stuffs like "so you comes from blah blah blah you should kill yourself" or things like that.

Shelf it and/or take to tumblr for months.

/runs away

...I'm actually in the same boat with Before I Forget. I know where I want to go with it. I'm just having issues getting there. I always think wirting ahead of your updates by a pretty large margin is a great idea. It's something I need to do instead of getting excited and posting right when I'm done with a chapter or the opening one for a new story. It'll be amazing if I still have readers should I find my way through the mess I've landed in with mine.

Aaaah no, I've been waiting so much for Before I Forget :(

O.o;;;; Holy crap, I've never gotten a review/message like that LOL I don't think that happens often in fanfiction. No worries!

Everyone, here is my step-by-step guide to PC modding, if anyone's interested. Also, more knowledgeable people, do let me know if I messed up a step.

Step-by-step Guide to Modding DAI

1. Download the DAI Mod Manager: http://www.nexusmods...ition/mods/116/?

2. Create a folder on your desktop called “DAI Mods.” To be honest, it doesn’t actually have to be on your desktop and you can call it whatever you want, but that’s just what I do.

3. Download the mod you want.

4. Unzip the mod using WinRAR (or whatever program you like to use). I usually unzip it to my desktop.

5. Open up the now-unzipped file.

A. If it is a new mod, a file that ends in “.daimod,” then simply place the file in your newly created DAI mod folder (see Step 2).

B. If it is an older mod, then within the folder will probably be another folder. It will contain two files, one of which ends in “package.mft.” Move this folder (the one containing the two files) into your newly created DAI mod folder.

6. Open DAI Mod Manager.

7. You will be prompted to input the location of your game. If not prompted, simply add it yourself.

8. Next input the location of your DAI Mods folder (created in Step 2).

9. The mods will now populate within the Mod Manager. Select the ones you want loaded into your game.

10. Now leave that for a second and open your game via file explorer (C / Program Files / Origin Games / Dragon Age Inquisition… or wherever yours is). Do you see the folder called “Update”? Open it. Here you want to create a new folder called “merged.” Do so. (This is in the same folder where the “Patch” folder is located.)

10. Return to Mod Manager. Click “Merge” in the bottom right hand corner. It should choose the newly created “merged” folder automatically, but if not, find it and select it.

11. Mod Manager begins merging the files, and… a few minutes later, presto! You’re done  :)

I would include instructions on how to properly uninstall mods and avoid corrupted saves. In addition, BW patches so frequently, that you should also include instructions on what to do when you have to re-patch your mods.

I've gotten far worse comments playing online games. I would read something like that, laugh and move on.

There are far too many people who get online simply because they wish to be a pr!ck to people. Its one thing to voice your opinion and another to do it simply because your heart is full of malice. Those people suck. :P

Finally got to that part today. (Sorry for the end bit. I spaced out and too lazy today to edit it :P)

That happened to me yesterday- three damn times.

Two of them were IN the CC,

The third one came just before Cassandra started speaking.

Good Times.

LOL. Like Ceru I have completely missed that. Will pay more attention to the scene the next time :D.

@ CuriousArtemis: Thanks for the guide. It sounds a bit like the old DAO mod manager. So, I feel confident that I can actually install this thing and make it running.

I never have, and I agree with MMG that I don't think that sort of thing happens as much. For negative comments, I think you're far more likely to get folks nit picking your story because it doesn't fit what they want. Or hating on your characters. But I don't think I've ever heard of folks hating directly on the author.... Heh. I take that back. Unless it's something like that one kinkmeme prompt that blew up all over tumblr, and unfortunately here, where folks were getting very critical of the author herself. But I think (I hope) that that was a very specific example.

Well, my non-romanced inquisitor gets the same reaction from him, but since I know (from experiment) if I broke up with Solas before the second kiss, all it takes to start a romance with Cullen at that point is to walk in and say "can we talk alone?" that may not be the best thing to judge by, lol. Has anyone played a male IQ through that scene and gotten the "you haven't even looked at your cards" as a reaction?

I loved how he seemed to be enjoying himself too.

Cass's lady love is next. I think I'm going dwarf.

I'm almost glad the Cullen mod  isn't out yet. Cause I NEED MORE HAIR OPTIONS!!! I don't know how y'all can stand to create Cullen's true love with the sad options we currently have  Though I must say this thread has seen some very beautiful inquisitors despite those options

There are some gorgeous hotty pottaty quizzies here. I'm waiting for the black emporium at least because Cullen's next quizzy will have the good sense to change up her hair and makeup most days...even if she has to travel to kirkwall to do it!

Edit: top! So cute...

Whoa whoa whoa... I'm reeling from the love... [thanks so much!!] but what exactly have I committed myself to? I think it was just making a DA:O Cullen romance tile, right? Or did I black out and not realize I agreed to write something about... something...? :D I accidentally do that sometimes. :P

It's okay if you're not writting for 5k, R2. Your compilation forum in AO3 is going to keep me busy til then. I have to catch up on yours and everyone's fantastic writing. And two pages of Cullenness sounds awesome, timebean!

Okay on to some cullen smut reading. If anyone has recommendations for tasteful work, please PM meee! ;)

Out of likes for now...  :crying:

And did you guys know that if you choose the direct path instead of the mountain path that you get to meet Cullen?!?!?!  :o  :o  :o I chose it for the first time just now, and as we were fighting, I thought, "Don't I recognize that brown fur cloak...? OH MY GOD IT'S CULLEN!!!!" Then Cass introduces us and I whisper creepy things under my breath, like "Just you wait, my pretty..." as my heart is beating a mile a minute.

I always charge. I've rolled so many characters in the CC that I'm sick of the prologue now, and the direct path means less time spent there. I would like a mod that just skips the damn prologue!

Yes, I can't remember when I first saw that one, possibly some of the videos released by reviewer just before the game launch? I've gone both ways; you don't get the same introduction to him at the war table, but that's all that changes. I like the other way a little better because I like saving Leliana's people.

As do I, Tish.

But as far as I am aware saving them does nothing in terms of changing the game. Not like you meet those people at Haven or have a War Table Mission with them.

Still I prefer saving them. Although this play-through I did not.

Lol, hey! The hair options are not nearly as dreadful if you work the face around the style...although I think we would had been better off with all of DA2s hairstyles.

I seem to be playing about two through the mountains, and one to charge on my PTs. It's a nice balance for me, and I do it for RP reasons.
