After months of planning it, I just started my Cullen romance playthrough right now.
I feel like my "canon" Lavellan who romanced Solas would have eventually fallen for Cullen had she not already fallen for and committed to another. Since I love to make life difficult for myself, I started a new playthrough with the exact same Inquisitor only with my Surana worldstate, to make the most of Cullen's infatuation with a Mage Elf Warden, his character growth over the years, and his eventual "happy ending" with another mage elf.
Quick question though: Before the game's release, someone mentioned that in the game a guard calls one of the elves in the Inquisition a "knife-ear" and Cullen chewed him out. Does that ever happen in the game? If so, how do I encounter it?
I have never personally encountered Cullen chastizing a guard for being rude to an elf, but I have heard several insults to both random elves and sometimes to my own elven IQ. Perhaps someone else may know

I have a friend who has only played "Mass Effect" and only knows about "Dragon Age" from what I tell him or show him. I've been trying to get him into it for awhile, and I guess it's somewhat working because he's interested in playing the games in the future.

Yeah, I don't know. Before the game came out (or perhaps before I bought it? Don't fully remember) someone online said this happened in the game. I didn't think much of it at the time and thought, "Oh well, I'll see it when I play it." Two and a half months and a bajillion playthroughs later and still nothing. I'm sure my Lavellan will warm up to him anyway; I just thought witnessing a scene like that would contribute to it. Cullen being good to mages and especially elves goes a long way for my Keeper's First (helping mage and elven refugees in the "Nobleman's Concern" war table mission, saving Clan Lavellan from being attacked in that string of war table missions, protecting the elven woman you find in the Winter Palace, etc), so I want her to witness every scene she can.

^ I'm not sure if I understood your question. It's actually always the player/the Inquisitor who sends the troops via Cullen. So he isn't really in control of the troops if you look at the war table missions from a gameplay perspective. Troop movements are always player driven. Depending on the situation it works better at times if you choose Cullen for a mission. His approach is more direct and therefore faster than Leliana's or Josie's. Also, he takes less BS. But I was never under the impression that he does the things he does in order to please the Inquisitor. In my opinion it's always a question of what works best and if Cullen sending troops is the best way to deal with something, than this is the way to go. As I said, I'm not sure if I understood you correctly. Does this help?

His solution to everything is to send troops. I was making a jest about if he'd propose sending troops during a romance as well. He'd be in the vanguard, of course.
Neh, he doesn't even send support troops when it's basically the Inquisitor and her buds against an entire fort. Probably thinks bae can handle herself just fine without recruits slowing her roll.

The theme that has emerged is "Thanks for the memories!" What does this mean? Whatever you want it to, so long as it's Culleny. Get inspired by memories, nostalgia, thanks for game, thoughts on the end of the game, thoughts on what happens after the game, favorite memory from the game, favorite memory from being a Cullen fan, looking back, looking forward, whatever.
Also, it doesn't have to follow the theme. That's just for inspiration, for those who want some. It just has to be Culleny.
WHAT TO CONTRIBUTE
Describe your fave memory from in game, or post a screenshot of it. Write a poem inspired by memories. Make a drink recipe that induces a black out of memories. Art, photomanip, fanfic, screenshot, text, banter, dialogue, drink recipe, limerick, fic, whatever. Go for it. All is good, so long as it's Culleny. Ask if you need suggestions for places to post fic or art, etc. For fic longer than ~500 words, post elsewhere and post a link here.
