I'd happily have some of that in DAI!

I was thinking about Cullen's jawline and general seemingly lack of chiseledness. (Yes, I'm obsessed. It's up there with the time I thought they'd given him mutton chops in the survey leak!)
Looking at this logically I'm sure he probably does have chiseled features much like "Dorian" and the others. I mean, literally ALL of the men in that picture have chiseled features. Hell, Solas looks like he's been carved from marble! The only two you can't tell is Cole and Cullen due to the shadows covering parts of their face. I do, however, think the biggest problem is his seemingly thin top lip, which is something Cole appears to be suffering from to.
At the moment Cole actually looks like a younger version of Cullen's model, lol.
Cole kinda does.
I wonder if Cullen ever let his hair grow out like that when he was younger, and he just cringes whenever Cole walks past him in the Skyhold.
His upper lip is a bit odd-looking, but I'm not yet going to say they should change it until I can get a better look at his entire face. It could just be distance and shading.
Did any one see this yet? Best news I've seen, besides Cullen. Now I don't have to wait ten minutes to start over on my character's face if I don't like it.
Excellent news! I hated that about DA2. SO MUCH. I'd always get irritated that I had to go through this silly little scene with someone who was not the Hawke I wanted to play. It's especially grating when you're playing a rogue and wanting to be an archer.
I just found this:

Yes,I'd say it's the shadows,If you take a closer look Solas seems to lack an upper lip as well, but Cullen and Cole stand in the worst place they could as far lighting and shading are concerned, and I assume a rl photographer would probably pull his hair out, at how unflattering that angle is.Not to mention Vivienne's squashed face.
Your analysis was so thorough and spot on I thought maybe you'd spent a couple days giving that pic the once over!
I'd be in big trouble if I always had to pay in advance like that!
Oh no... I was just studying it this morning because I wanted to determine specifically what it is about Cullen's appearance that's bugging me. Like Lola, I think his jaw is too weak, the nose is off (for me) etc... But I got sidetracked when I began comparing his body to everyone else. Maker he looks like the tallest human in the room! And almost the most built human - GW looks a bit stockier to me whereas Cullen is leaner-looking because of his long-as frame! lol! Thn I noticed Cullen's head looks bigger than IB's and that observation started the analysis.
In retrospect, maybe I got off easy if I was indeed "paying in advance".
Which reminds me of something I used to do with an old twitter account: I used to run this gag all for myself, called Bodyswappers. In which my tweets were about a made up business by the same name that specialized in selling you newer parts and the aches and pains one could have as being an indication of needed maintenance or a bill come due. It sounds strange I know but it made me laugh when I was dealing with a lot of problems that turned out to be IBS. ![]()
This topic makes me wonder something.... Do you think there are any physical side effects of taking lyrium? Aside from the obvious, I mean? Has Cullen been living with dry mouth? Metallic taste on his tongue? Headaches? Strange food cravings? Most drugs have a plethora of secondary effects. I wonder if that would be true of lyrium...
This thread is a thing of beauty.

Tell me about it. Every day I say that I'm not going to LIKE! everything, that I'm going to save them for the really awesome stuff. Thing is, everything is really awesome. It's a conundrum. ![]()

IMO, the Templar abilities are one of these. As, non mage individuals in the context of the DA Universe, don't have the ability to interrupt mana naturally.
Good question. I always picture it having a metallic taste when you drink it. Yuck, if that were around all the time. This topic makes me wonder something.... Didn't lyrium make Fenris hair white? Maybe it's making Cullen's hair lighter over the time too XD

If you can start to develop withdrawal symptoms in a week without, but the Chantry seems to still keep the disbursement under tight control (as seen in Asunder), I could potentially see templars constantly living on the edge of craving and headaches and the like. Man, that would suck.
Yikes! Living on the edge of withdrawal all the time?
Poor Cullen! And everybody else in the Order! No wonder they're grumpy! I kind of think they may have to deal with more... supernatural side effects. Like hearing whispers from the Fade. They're not vulnerable to possession like mages are and demons couldn't see them as beacons but perhaps the energy of the Fade and it's denizens are like a constant low indistinct whisper? THAT would drive me bonkers! But I figure there has to be some kind of noticeable alteration in the state of mind when taking it.

The shock the body went through during the painful process of having Lyrium burned into his flesh is what turned his hair white.
Mmmph.

I was just comparing Cullen and the GW actually and they're about the same height. I think the GW looks stockier because of his heavy armour, whereas Cullen is wearing lighter armour for the first time ever! They're both big buggers though! I wonder if maybe they purposely made the male warriors stockier than mages and rogues this time around? If they have then that's pretty bloody awesome!

I hope that translates over to the Inquisitor's own build! I didn't mind male!Hawke being built even when he was a rogue and mage, because I always headcanoned that he did a lot of manual labour around Lothering, but it would be cool to have different builds within the same race this time around!
Though I would certainly understand if hey couldn't do that, given how armour works and all... *scratches chin*

Oh, man the possibility that we might actually get to see him having the start of lyrium withdrawal is quite exciting! Perhaps if he does have any personal quests that'll be part of it?
Is one of the Warrior skills going to be a Templar class.... weird to have this class if there is no Templar in the party.

Well, Cassandra and Vivienne's body shapes look very different, but I can't tell if it's just because Cassandra layers up and Vivienne has tight fitted tailored outfits.

I have also sat a stared at Cullen in that war room for longer than I probably should.
The lip thing doesn't bother me as much as the jawline thing. But with the shadows on his face and the underside of his jaw being as deep as they are, it really is possible that the definition is just completely lost, so I'm not worrying about it until I see high def and well lit and in action and...well, all the good stuff. So it's just a waiting game for now. Not that it will change things for my Inquisitor as far as the game is concerned. Cullen has some lovin' coming his way, so I hope he's ready!
I must have a lot of bills coming due lately, if my aches and pains mean anything! ![]()
Lyrium. The subject fascinates me. I do want to know about the daily side effects that Templars have to deal with as a result of having to take Lyrium. And are there unexpected benefits we don't know about? Yeah, it should be interesting to see if they give us any answers on that front.
