It turns out the memory of Solona Amell haunts them both. Some feels and angst mixed with humor and an uplifting ending!
In this story, Amell died in the Ultimate Sacrifice and King Alistair rules alone.  Featuring Cullen, of course.

I have been keeping this song up my sleeve this whole time. It is the perfect theme for my story and can be seen from both Cullen's POV and Mira's POV. I hope I won't have to explain why I think this song is fits my story the most. It should explain itself

This song would best be played when Mira battles the antagonist of the story.

There are many moments I remember fondly from my DA:I play through, and most of them include Cullen. What resonated with me was his desire to break away from an organization that he had once worshiped, but that has ultimately failed him and his brethren - the Templar Order. This includes Cullen's struggle with lyrium, his regret for Samson's fate, and his fear that under different circumstances he could have become the villain. Hope you enjoy my contributions that revolve around these themes.

I, Cullen Stanton Rutherford

A lilt meanders through a bustling alley,

kissing and caressing the ears with its enchanting strain.

General of the Inquisition

A warm smile blooms across flushed cheeks,

coaxing the heart into a waltz that mimics her own.

Vow to honor and serve to my greatest capacity

A fragile body crumples in the snow,

trembling in the arms that tear her from death’s eternal clutches

Whether in honor and greatness

Chestnut curls shimmer beneath the beaming sun,

cascading down as she claims Skyhold as her fortress.

Or in pain and strife

Gentle fingers trail across the forehead,

cooling the pain that claws at the veins with blistering skin.

For the Maker is my guide

Honeyed lips part for a tongue tasting of long-awaited bliss,

yearning to dissolve the chaos that threatens to wrench the world apart.

I will read through all of the fanfiction on Sunday and Monday, because I can barely keep my eyes open anymore (no DAMP today, sorry, Artemis). I enjoy everyones contribution so much .
