Well, Cassandra and Vivienne's body shapes look very different, but I can't tell if it's just because Cassandra layers up and Vivienne has tight fitted tailored outfits.

Well, I meant before the different builds were only in the companions, while all the Hawkes had the same build. I just focused on male!Hawke because boy was BUILT and there were some complaints about that from mage Hawkes and the like? Of course I hope the ladies have different build types too!

Didn't lyrium make Fenris hair white? Maybe it's making Cullen's hair lighter over the time too XD

I think the method in how they take it into their bodies is different and that is why Fenris' hair is white. Lyrium was burned into his epidermis. And hair grows from that. So I've always thought that an... overflow, I guess, saturated his scalp and his hair grows white as a result. It was a painful process so I can imagine he'd have been screaming. Under that kind of pressure, the heart would force blood through the scalp... could explain how it's there and not in his eyebrows too? Plus, since Denarius wants the lyrium back and the markings don't seem to fade, I hypothesize that they are more concentrated and actual deposits rather than a smidge of dust in his blood stream. Solid lyrium leeching into the skin... yikes! So I don't think it's the same as Cullen and wouldn't affect hair when taken orally. Plus Cullen would... burn it up (for lack of a better term) when using his talents. He metabolizes it. Fenris has it embedded in his skin. I think Cullen's hair conundrum is just a trick of the lighting and new engine. :D But I won't dismiss the lyirum theory entirely. ;)

I hope that translates over to the Inquisitor's own build! I didn't mind male!Hawke being built even when he was a rogue and mage, because I always headcanoned that he did a lot of manual labour around Lothering, but it would be cool to have different builds within the same race this time around!

Though I would certainly understand if hey couldn't do that, given how armour works and all... *scratches chin*

Yeah, it felt a little weird that Anders was so stocky when really he should've been slimmer.

In regards to the human protagonist and companions body types, I've always imagined the rogues would be built more like runners since they're agile and fast, powerful thighs and stuff. Mages I usually expect to be on the slender side of muscular... maybe a bit like Bruce Lee, since the a mage protagonist and mage companions are always out and about fighting and running around, and the warriors I've always imagine to be very broad and built like a brick **** house... much like Cullen and the GW are.

I was just comparing Cullen and the GW actually and they're about the same height. I think the GW looks stockier because of his heavy armour, whereas Cullen is wearing lighter armour for the first time ever! They're both big buggers though! I wonder if maybe they purposely made the male warriors stockier than mages and rogues this time around? If they have then that's pretty bloody awesome!

I think that GW guy is closer to the camera, so to speak so he appears bigger, but that's me. I'll have to go look again. :)

But if they did make the warriors noticeably bigger than say rogues or mages, that's awesome! Having a beefy mage Hawke that couldn't lift a sword was sooooo immersion breaking! I had to mentally "cross-class" them to get over it. When I attempted to actually cross class a Hawke it was a reeeeeeally tough playthrough.  So having the classes truly look their part is a welcome change. :D

Oh, I see! Yeah the protagonists were all built the same, lol. I loved Hawke's build though, it made sense though since (like you said) he was from a small farming community so he was likely lugging hay bales around and all sorts, and if he was a rogue or warrior then he was out fighting at Ostagar so he would've trained a lot anyway.

Oh you guys. I come back after 2 hours and 90 % of what i see are people talking about Cullen and DHMG's man meat.

I'm sorry i can't be a huge part of those conversations, i'm a bun guy, not a sausage guy

It's still amazing to see the banter here though.

I also wish I could like this!

I imagine if the protagonists within the same race do have class specific builds, it will just be built into them from the start. They've already confirmed we won't get body sliders, after all, I'm pretty certain.

Still, interesting idea! And the Inquisitor in the trailers have looked a bit less built like a brick wall.

It's not entirely accurate since they're both standing nowhere near each other, but from this picture they look near enough the same height. The GW is closer to the camera though, like you said.

In a Scuttlebutt thread, this guy was criticizing how happy the trailer made her. I don't wanna name names, but I reported the f*cker, cause I am so angry that I can barely type.

*snip the lovely pic*

Heh... It's hard to tell. GW just looks soooo stocky! But it could be the armor, like you said. It'd be nice if all the characters had different builds and were unique but I also know that means using more resources to maintain. They may be more or less identical, build-wise in-game and more different in cut scenes perhaps? I suppose different builds for different classes is a change for the better and I should just be happy for it! :D Can't be getting greedy... ;)

I just really like the idea of Cullen being a gentle giant that most people look at and think twice about crossing. ;)

Wow you are being detailed XD Yea it was only a thought, I guess it's more likely the process is what made Fenris hair white not the lyrium ^^; I just wondered maybe using lyrium so long makes some aesthetical changes in the body so well? Like smoking tobacco long time makes some aesthetical changes. Eating junk food can make your face full of pimples etc. ^^

Yikes! Living on the edge of withdrawal all the time? Poor Cullen! And everybody else in the Order! No wonder they're grumpy! I kind of think they may have to deal with more... supernatural side effects. Like hearing whispers from the Fade. They're not vulnerable to possession like mages are and demons couldn't see them as beacons but perhaps the energy of the Fade and it's denizens are like a constant low indistinct whisper? THAT would drive me bonkers! But I figure there has to be some kind of noticeable alteration in the state of mind when taking it.

I could see that, too. After writing that red lyrium story, my new pet headcanon is that it whispers to you and fraks with your head as well as your body.
