R2s Muse I wanted to say I finally read your Night's Bloom fanfic and it is amazing! I love who you portray Cullen and Hawke falling in love I almost felt bad for Sebastian, but I mean its Cullen, he should of known he had no chance,lol. It is by far my favorite one I read of Hawke and Cullen.

 

I have been mulling around a DA2 story, but can't seem to find my grove. I thought about a really honorable female Hawke that all the guys fall for (including Cullen) and how she tries to find the one right for her, but its so bleh....I dunno, maybe I'll try a Cullen/ Amell one. I want to do something with Cullen before DA:I but just don't know what to do. Any ideas and suggestions would be awesome guys.

THIS ACTUALLY MADE ME LAUGH HOLY ****. 

 

I don’t think Cullen would have spoken—consciously, anyway—a word about the whole… ordeal and his crush on Amell and whatnot, but this was too much fun NOT to imagine.  Like can you see Samson being like ‘Cullen just shouts about cheese in his sleep I’ve never roomed with a man who had recurring dreams about cheese but ok I’ll roll with it poor kid’ and then gives Cullen a wheel of brie and OH MY GOD WHAT IF CULLEN THOUGHT SAMSON WAS TEASING HIM???  ****.  AND THEN YEARS DOWN THE LINE…

Well, stories thrive from conflict. So, you're right, an honorable character that everyone falls for sounds kind of boring. Is there anything in real life that you find interesting and that you could transfer to the Dragon Age world?

Crazy random idea: if you want to write an Amell, how about... a Dalish Mage!Warden instead? You can try to make her actually First of her Keeper or Minaeve-style story that she was from Dalish Origin & actually come to the Circle in early teens instead of early chilhood, your pick. That might give a good alternative POV about Magic & chance of interesting discussions with Cullen

 

EDIT: I rather like Minaeve-style story, it's a POV that can be very interesting yet not much explored in most FF I read. Maybe make her First of her Keeper, hence avoiding initial AMell/Surana x Cullen interaction & she only meets Cullen during his worst moment (Broken Tower) & while his view about mages is already heavily challenged. Then Gregoir put Cullen with the Wardens & Wynne to make him change environment for a moment... I can imagine his reasoning & the scene of him sending off Cullen with Wynne & the Warden, Wynne can have lots of interactions with Cullen to try to help him back on track. Cullen might get uncomfortable with Wynne's & the Dalish!Mage's offer of friendship etc. THat can give conflicts & interesting development no?

Awwww I'm going to re-download the whole DLC & re-install that, feels like I'm wasting money on a bugged character that's pretty interesting...

Definitely trying to re-try Seb, he looks real good on Vanilla... I love his cheekbones actually. BW always get good cheekbones on Chantry Boys!

 

Talking about Trios Romances, do you guys have alternative names for these guys combo?

Well, my favorite "destroy everything" team is the all-rogue party, so why not! 'Bela pulls all the aggro and takes none of the damage with the Duelist tree, while archer!Hawke, Sebastian and Varric just snipe everything on sight from a safe distance. Brutal!

 

It works for Inquisition (if you craft daggers for Cole that give +3 guard on hit) and Origins (with Zevran on Duelist, and Ser Gilmore or another modded follower respecced into rogue) too!

 

I just really shamelessly love rogues, no lie.

It doesn't work so well because you need at least one rogue to open locked doors or you might miss stuff and even little sidequests. Also, mages are not that good in close-combat. Yes, I had the Knight Enchanter specialisation and it might be that I skilled my mage wrong but I find the combat far more balanced with a rogue, a warrior and two mages. I like it to drag an extra mage along but a whole party of them is less fun than I had thought. 

 

Speaking of combat and to keep this Cullen related, did anyone else had the feeling that Cullen protects the Inquisitor during combat when you travel to the temple of Dumat for his personal quest?

Depend, in my PT (KE) Cullen just run through the place & go for the boss at the end of the place...

More like the other way for me. Mira was pretty raising ice walls all around Cullen so he wouldn't get attacked then she would go all KE crazy on them while Dorian made everything explode with Walking Bomb. Although a few times he did somehow block a red lyrium ninja from one-hitting my IQ.

Ah no not Alistair (or Cullen) - the bread is much softer and squooshier.  But if Fenris in the middle is the meat, well...he's a grumpy one!

 

Edit: so maybe something like pastrami or...what's a spicy sandwich filling?  Not sure this metaphor entirely works, mind you.  Ooh ooh!  Cheese, wine and ramen!  An odd meal, no doubt, but there you have it.
