I want some Ser Bryant back from Lothering, lol. I know his is probably dead, but he was a good guy and not too horrible on the eyes.

Isnt he, you know....dead X_X
I know this!!! That's the first fic from R2s that I read, it's really good. Just love how she opens the story with one sentence that got me hooked.
Um, you mean the Knight Commander who wants to punish your mage in the Origin for following Irving's orders (assuming you played it that way?) Not exactly at the top of my list of reasonable people, at least in that PT, lol. Honestly, he has his moments, but I always bristle at him for reacting that way.
BTW, welcome!
I meant as far as not being completely bat **** crazy, which seems to be a popular persona for a Templar, but you're right.
And thank you. ![]()

Shh. Let me dream that never happened and that he escaped...but yeah he is probably decorating some darkspawn's spear or was since that was years ago in the DA timeline.

I love it too, though I had to settle for recordings.
Grace was so ungrateful. I set her free and she turns around and goes "My name is Grace. You killed my lover. Prepare to die!"
When I was pro-Templar, she was all "My name is Grace. You turned me over to the Templars. Prepare to die!"
Jeez! XD
Well, I just can't ignore the Princess Bride reference... Pardon me.

WHAAAAAAAT??? OMG I remember wrongly!! Oups!!! Really sorry somehow I got it grafted in my brain that it's R2s who wrote that.
And who says that he's not good at writing? ![]()
He's beautiful indeed. ![]()

There are good templars! Just... in theory xD Seriously, for every Cullen there seem to be three Ser Alriks
The game just hasn't done a good job of showing the good ones!

Nah, who can forget that film? And in the book he filled like a whole page just with that line. The book's a treasure as much as the film
(basically it's the book who comes first...)

Nah, I hate Grace for killing Thrask. There are some good Templars, I just wish there were more.

The book's really hilarious. I recommend it 10/10 ![]()
Just the thing that made me laugh like mad at the end of a tiring long day.

lol! Not quite (or I suspect most of us wouldn't be in this thread.) There are lots of Templars I liked. The only one I disliked in DAO was Carroll; but I did have issues with Greagor for wanting to punish a mage for following orders (it always struck me as the mage getting caught in a power battle between Greagor and Irving with no way to win.)
There are good templars! Just... in theory xD Seriously, for every Cullen there seem to be three Ser Alriks

I mean, it's not an accident that Templars are dehumanized into a faceless helmet-wearing, sword-wielding anonymous mass, while 99.9% of the mages we see get names, visible faces, wavering voices and tragic backgrounds - even the villanous ones commiting unspeakable crimes but getting a pass because "they're only human" etc. It's a deliberate writing artifice, and it works people's minds like a charm.
Like Elu mentioned the other day, think of how many mages we've had as companions so far, telling us their feelings, their deepest fears, sharing their life experiences, becoming your best friend, becoming your lover. Think of how many Templars have even got a name tag in the whole series so far, leave alone more than two or three lines to speak. There's a heavy and intentional slant in the writing, and any pretense of "shades of grey" or "showing both points of view" is a joke. That's pretty much the point of Cassandra's line: mages have made their suffering known; Templars haven't. (or rather, the writers haven't
)

Special recipe, for filthy Templar-lovers only. ![]()
(Nah, just ask Dagna. she's smuggling the thing all over the Templar tower in Skyhold. No guarantees, side effects not fully studied yet.
)
