It's a concept existing in German Language apparently... They're among those who bother to classify everything into Masculine, Feminin, and Neutral. I already thought that French is a crazy language since the hardest part is to know which is which (a car is a girl, a ship is a guy, moon is girl & sun is guy, telescope's a guy etc).
There are remnants of that in the English language, actually; for example, "blond" versus "blonde." But most English speakers don't even know the difference. But at least that makes sense... a female person has blonde hair; a male person has blond hair.
Inanimate objects definitely don't have gender in English 
And first person personal pronouns are gendered (he / she / it) but sadly "it" is dehumanizing and not appropriate for a person. So you have to choose "he" or "she."
People have been trying to use "they" but tbh when someone calls me "they" I feel like I'm Anders or something with another being living inside me xD

I don't know what's in the comics that Greagoir might have done (I'm afraid to find out now.) I really liked him in my first few PTs. But then I ran my mage who went straight to Irving and cooperated completely, then discovered if Duncan hadn't been there, I would probably have been heading for tranquility or the mage's prison, yeah, my opinion of him suffered a bit (and of Irving, I think he threw me to the wolves on purpose, knowing Duncan would save his bacon.) Of course, I think they both wanted me out of the tower because of Cullen...
From my mage PT, the way Irving reacted I'd still wager that he'll not agree. I mean Irving's the First Enchanter, he'll have his say as much as Gregoir. And I suspect Gregoir might just need either a black goat, either a time to calm himself.
Well... Personally I even got much further than that.

No, I don't hate you. You can ship your Warden with whoever you want. Women don't do it for me (I've kissed girls in middle/high school in a few Spin The Bottle), but I don't judge.

So... I've heard about wardens and oaths, including from Alistair, but does anyone actually remember being asked to swear an oath? Because I sure don't (and at least one of my Wardens was a very reluctant recruit, she d**n sure wouldn't have sworn one

Sounds like you and I are in a similar predicament. I just go with my biological sex because... I don't have a gender.
I have told a couple people in my life that I am gender neutral; it was very hard and embarrassing... my sister nodded seriously and said "I understand"; my friend laughed and seemed confused and I don't think she believe in gender neutrality... she believes people are men or women, and that being one or the other makes you special and very different from the other sex. (She's very second wave feminist.)
At my age (34) it's about accepting the body I'm in and reexamining how I approach relationships. Realizing that the outside doesn't have to match the inside, so I can wear a dress and it isn't "wrong."

OMG I did that!!!
Nah, the feels REALLY good, the angst' really intense when I did that (very first PT). The way Cullen talked about her in past tense. I got the impression that Greg made his voice much sadder than as if Amell's or Surana's still alive & kicking & he uses present tense.

Join us as we carry the duty that can not be forsworn.
And should you perish, know that your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
And that one day we shall join you.”
You are pretty much swearing to hunt darskpawn until one day you fall on some hurlock's nasty taint-greased sword... if you're lucky. If you're not, enjoy your Calling. 
But yeah, even if your Warden wasn't keen on joining, people do desert. Anders swore that oath virtually at gunpoint, and ran tail outta there the first opportunity he got. My own Cousland resisted her "recruitment" until Duncan had to drop the whole nice guy act, conscript her like a criminal and practically drag her kicking and screaming out of the castle, so I know that feel... she did grow into being a Warden and would have embraced the Commander thing like her life mission if she had lived to see it; but I've had other Wardens, like my Brosca and my Tabris, who didn't want anything to do with the Wardens even at the end of the game, and couldn't wait to dodge town the second Riordan wasn't looking.
I personally don't ship Amell and Cullen, but these are such beautiful videos!
Neither did I, but they are good. Just think, all those years ago a romance with Cullen was but a dream. I'm so glad we all got to sink our teeth into him in the end. I am also failing at doing a romance that isn't Cullen or Cassandra. *pout*

I also like to headcanon that Leliana and Cullen had a conversation at some point about Amell, since they both have fond memories of her. It may be my favorite created worldstate so far for headcanons

IIRC there are cases like Nicolas & Julien from The Calling or something like that, you know, the book with Duncan & Fiona as newbie & Genevieve & the Architect & that super awesome hunter with his dog. They were planning on leaving the warden & live a quiet life before their calling no?
I imagine that at peacetime there might be deserters that the Order turn a blind eyes...? Or simply deserter.

The real thing that changed is how Leliana talked about Amell/Surana. The angst really deep.
