You need to purchase the Elite Clientele perk from the war table. It's on the same level as the kitchen.

LOL I'm flattered you'd think it was written by me! In your defense, I have a similarly titled story that was written for the same challenge (the Dark and Stormy Night challenge).

Haha, yes. The Cullen obsession was like an old friend, gently reaching out and hugging me, reminding me that it was still there for me after all this time...

The Solas obsession came into my life like a nightmare, ripping my soul apart and letting me know that it would always be lurking in the shadows, terrorizing my dreams... That had to be dealt with first. Like... I developed a very real albeit minor case of breakup depression after finishing the Solas romance playthrough. It was too reminiscent of something that actually happened to me.

Well, this involves Solasmancers, not Cullenmancers. Whcih has all sorts of implications if he really does end up with Mythal's essence. But yeah, voices in your head while with a loved one, a little weird.

Yeeeah, I was a little disappointed in some of my options for why I would choose the well.

Solas yelled at me afterwards with an 'I told you so', when he didn't say a damn thing at the time. All he said was we need the power, and he wouldn't drink. Grr. I had planned on drinking... but I didn't feel like the options for doing so were very in character for my IQ.

Not sure if I'll go reload... since yay, what's more pain when you feel this lousy.

*sigh* Yes. With all the reloading and metagaming I did last night... at one point I had to limit the pain. So I broke up with Solas and ran and started the romance with Cullen. *sigh* Sadly, that was too late to get the romanced hugging scene... but at least I got a happy kiss instead of... *gulp*

Man, the Solas scene was so well written, tho. Too real. Even expecting it... it was painful. I see now why everyone's broken up over it. *sniffsniff*

So far everyone has done a great job with it but I want to be on the safe side here. I'm still working on my Solas-romance-playthrough but that will take a while because I'm also beta testing at the moment. And I don't want the romance spoiled for me. *sigh*I knew I shouldn't have picked him first, I'm enjoying my Solas playthrough very much but I'm already pining for Cullen Gah. I did this with Alistair. I did this with Garrus. I fall into the same trap every time!

This happened to me with every romance in DA2. I pined for the other LIs all the way through, so I never enjoyed the one I was with ! At least this time, I actually enjoyed both Cullen and Solas romances at the time, altho it was admittedly hard not flirting every time with Cullen at first. :/

I've started wondering if gendered pronouns are even worth having around in our language anymore. I mean, really, what use is identifying someone's sex these days? We place more worth on the person than such categories. I always bothers me when you're trying to write something without alluding to sex and yet it SO HARD because there aren't really gender neutral pronouns beyond "it" and "them", but "it doesn't do the human condition justice as it objectifies, and "them" leans more towards a plural reference. It's kind of like Battlestar Galactica - can't we just call everyone "sir"? instead of separating it down to "sir" and "ma'am" based on something as trivial as sex?

 

I think that the society is currently in its binary state... Everything is classified in either black or white, omitting the 254 shades of grey in between... (Not 50, I'm not sorry).

Yeah he deserves to be happy for once, he gets my main Warden Amell, who got dumped by Alastair because I had no idea about the hardening aspects of DA:O. Her name is Edna since you know Amell is a Scottish surname. So I went with a Scottish first name.

teeheeheeheehee. Thanks.   That's delightful to hear, since I think it's probably the raciest thing I've written so far.   And my fave thing to hear in the whole world is: you just made this character appealing to me. So thankyouthankyouthankyou. That just made my day.

 

(and since it seems to be Solas day on the thread... I'm definitely headed toward writing a continuation with um, a little more Cullen.

Oddly enough, I had problems in DAO, not because I wanted the Alistair romance again, but because a lot of the time I didn't like the non-flirt lines with him. I ended up entirely skipping one conversation with him finally. Though I did discover the Lampost in Winter conversation is pretty funny as a male warden (Misha liked to tease Alistair gently.)

 

And to keep it on topic (sort of), did anyone else find it frustrating that Alistair never asked about Cullen if he was with you as an Amell/Surana during Broken Circle and Cullen says those things to you? Though I suppose this was Alistair's version of being Cullen not noticing Hawke is a mage - you can flirt with his uncle Teagan in front of him and he doesn't notice (among other things). Still, Zevran will make a comment about a mage being a heartbreaker, so it isn't as if the companions don't hear that part of the conversation, lol.

So...I just started playing KOTOR. Everyone told me it was as good as DAO story-wise, but i found it hard to start since I am not a huge Star Wars fan (Star Trek, however...gimme WIlliam Shatner all day long)!!!  Also, it is ancient now and the graphics are icky.  But, having just played through ME3 again and getting my dose of excruciating pain for the month, I thought it was good to start something new.  Plus, I need a hold-over till DLC and hair mods for DAI come out!!!

 

I am also going to try Reckoking Chronicles of Amular (or whatever it is called, as per ninetozero's suggestion) at some point to drown in Greg Ellis's sweet, sweet voice!  Ahhh, imagine being surrounded by Culllens.  Big hairy-chested Cullen, slim toned-Cullen, young Cullen, noodle-hair Cullen, angsty dark-eyed Cullen, Cullen with tentacles.  *sigh*...I need to read some fanfic!!!

 

But back to KOTOR - I gotta say, am 3-hrs in and am digging the voice work and characters so far (Kaiden, oh Kaiden, you are here!!!!).  Can't wait to see how it all goes down!!  Hooray for new (old) things!

Sadly I wish I could play KOTOR, because I am a big Star Wars fan. No matter how many times I've tried, I just can't get past the graphics and clunky UI. It also doesn't seem to run right on newer versions of Windows and can't be played at 1080p. I bought it for my Note 3 thinking the graphics would be more forgivable on the smaller screen (which they are), but it's very painful to play on a touchscreen.

Hey Cerulione!  I just wanted to let you know that your Cullen 5ka fic was so beautiful and heartfelt.  It was a very brave thing to write something so personal. I actually scratched my original cullen fic idea because it was too close to home with my dad being sick.  But you have inspired me to pick it back up again...perhaps it will be therapeutic to give it a go.  And maybe it will be more meaningful it write something a little painful. something that means something to me.

 

Anyway, you totally inspired me! I don't know why, but I think of you as the sweet kid of this thread, bouncing around with super high energy and always excited about everything and so open and cool.  I feel like you are my little sis!  And for all i know, you are in your 30s!!

 

I was reading a few pages back when Zarro was talking about Arty's rants and I was nodding sagely, thinking "yep...Arty doesn't hold back when the mood takes hold".  And it is so funny, because i see Zarro as a hot guy (I know, she is female) because of her avatar (which is a hot guy)  and Arty as like a rebelious champion of the underdogs who just has to let it out now and again.  It is so weird, but I have these images of everyone on here from some weird combination of avatars and posts and fanfics.  We are like one weird family. 

 

And for on topic...I have to say that Alistair and Cullen...I go back and forth about which I like best and which is the better written LI.  Writing wise, I do think Cullen is more developed than Alistair.  Plus, Cullen always asks what the quizzie is feeling, whereas Alistair  always kinda talked about himself. Someone above mentioned that they were a little let down that Alistair did not talk to the female mage about Cullen. I agree with that.  I was let down when I went to speak with him after killing Howe, the bastard that murdered my family, and Alistair just talked about how big Eamon's estate was.  What a wasted opportunity!  I feel the writers of this game did try to make all of the characters, especially Cullen, seem to care about the Quizzie a bit more.  But...it was kinda at the expense of the quizzie's own character development, which was flat. Can't have it all, I reckon!

 

Sorry if this seems rambling...I am responding to like 20 different posts from the past day all in one little blurb and I also just woke up!  Hope it makes sense!
