Sadly I wish I could play KOTOR, because I am a big Star Wars fan. No matter how many times I've tried, I just can't get past the graphics and clunky UI. It also doesn't seem to run right on newer versions of Windows and can't be played at 1080p. I bought it for my Note 3 thinking the graphics would be more forgivable on the smaller screen (which they are), but it's very painful to play on a touchscreen.

As soon as I hear Kaiden's voice, I was hooked!!!  But yes, graphics are hard to get past.  Still, it is...something.  I feel empty after DAi playtrhoughs...I need filler!!

Yeah, Kaidan...really couldn't care less about him.  :P

Elder Scrolls Online is going "buy to play" in March, so that will be my "filler," though I don't see myself being done with DA:I for quite a while yet.

And for on topic...I have to say that Alistair and Cullen...I go back and forth about which I like best and which is the better written LI.  Writing wise, I do think Cullen is more developed than Alistair.  Plus, Cullen always asks what the quizzie is feeling, whereas Alistair  always kinda talked about himself. Someone above mentioned that they were a little let down that Alistair did not talk to the female mage about Cullen. I agree with that.

Agreed, that's why I added a conversation between the two of them about Cullen in my last fic.  Then Alistair talks to Cullen about it during DA:I.

I am also going to try Reckoking Chronicles of Amular (or whatever it is called, as per ninetozero's suggestion) at some point to drown in Greg Ellis's sweet, sweet voice!  Ahhh, imagine being surrounded by Culllens.  Big hairy-chested Cullen, slim toned-Cullen, young Cullen, noodle-hair Cullen, angsty dark-eyed Cullen, Cullen with tentacles.  *sigh*...I need to read some fanfic!!!

But back to KOTOR - I gotta say, am 3-hrs in and am digging the voice work and characters so far (Kaiden, oh Kaiden, you are here!!!!).  Can't wait to see how it all goes down!!  Hooray for new (old) things!

Oh, I have Kingdoms of Amalur in my Steam library because it was on sale last year. I haven't had a chance to play it yet and I had no idea that Greg Ellis voiced a character in it. Do you know which one?

And I've heard many good things about KOTOR but couldn't really get into the graphic so I never bought it. Maybe I'm missing out on something... Plus, Raphael Sbarge has really a great voice!

He doesn't voice only one character. He voices a whole lot of them! :P

Well, there has recently been a bit of Cullen in the Solas thread... Among other things... So I guess turn about is fair play.

Bwahahaha I'll go there to say hello then, the Solas thread seems a really nice place with nice people

Hey Cerulione!  I just wanted to let you know that your Cullen 5ka fic was so beautiful and heartfelt.  It was a very brave thing to write something so personal. I actually scratched my original cullen fic idea because it was too close to home with my dad being sick.  But you have inspired me to pick it back up again...perhaps it will be therapeutic to give it a go.  And maybe it will be more meaningful it write something a little painful. something that means something to me.

Anyway, you totally inspired me! I don't know why, but I think of you as the sweet kid of this thread, bouncing around with super high energy and always excited about everything and so open and cool.  I feel like you are my little sis!  And for all i know, you are in your 30s!! :P

I was reading a few pages back when Zarro was talking about Arty's rants and I was nodding sagely, thinking "yep...Arty doesn't hold back when the mood takes hold".  And it is so funny, because i see Zarro as a hot guy (I know, she is female) because of her avatar (which is a hot guy)  and Arty as like a rebelious champion of the underdogs who just has to let it out now and again.  It is so weird, but I have these images of everyone on here from some weird combination of avatars and posts and fanfics.  We are like one weird family.  :D

I was let down when I went to speak with him after killing Howe, the bastard that murdered my family, and Alistair just talked about how big Eamon's estate was.  What a wasted opportunity!  I feel the writers of this game did try to make all of the characters, especially Cullen, seem to care about the Quizzie a bit more.  But...it was kinda at the expense of the quizzie's own character development, which was flat. Can't have it all, I reckon!

Sorry if this seems rambling...I am responding to like 20 different posts from the past day all in one little blurb and I also just woke up!  Hope it makes sense!

Thanks for saying that, glad you like that story. That one is the most personal thing I've ever written actually, I just need to tell that one story myself since Dad will never tell it himself. He just stopped talking about Gramps once he passed away. Some stories are just too hard for him to tell I guess. When the theme's decided as Memory, well, that's my One Story and that might fit Cullen's character. It's not easy to read, probably too angsty for some people & there's not even any conflict there so thanks for everyone who had put their time to read it.

If ever you write that story about your Dad, or based on that, tell me if you want any reader & I'll read that. I do believe that writing it might help things let out of your chest ;)

And no I'm not 30, I'm 25 actually Big Sis and is having Incurably Peter Pan Syndrome and a tad too immature

Practically all of them. There are only like half a dozen VAs voicing all the NPCs in the game (think Skyrim style, where your hear the same voices everywhere), and Greg voices like every other human male you talk to. It sure is a treat if you like his voice, and he gets a very wide range of tones and personalities between all the dozens of NPCs he voices.

I recommend Amalur as a game for fun. That game you play just to chill and have a laugh. The story is barely there, there's no companions or romance, there's very little depth overall, but it's so damn fun to play. Every fun new combat dynamic in DAI is mooched straight from Amalur, so you kinda already know what to expect. (except mages are infinitely more dynamic in Amalur than DAI - what I wouldn't give to have magical shakrams and scepters in Dragon Age!) But the real fun is in playing a jack of all trades character who is a warrior, a rogue and a mage all at the same time, switches weapons at will, casts spells with a bow in their hand, throws poison while wielding a hammer... it's just such a ball. Definitely my go-to game to just relax and not take too seriously.

R2s, I get a question for you: Chocolate or Rose? Choose one only. Please don't say War Table. :P

If Rose, which colour. If chocolate, which? (Dark, milk, white, etc)

Um. Um. Why do I hear the Jeopardy music in my head?? Um. I hope this isn't a personality test. :D

Rose. Every time. Tearose pink. http://colors.findth...8/Tea-Rose-Rose

(but splattered in chocolate... :P mahogany-colored chocolate... )

teeheeheeheehee. Thanks. :D That's delightful to hear, since I think it's probably the raciest thing I've written so far. And my fave thing to hear in the whole world is: you just made this character appealing to me. :D So thankyouthankyouthankyou. That just made my day. <3 <3

(and since it seems to be Solas day on the thread... I'm definitely headed toward writing a continuation with um, a little more Cullen. :D :wizard:
... and Solas... that heartbreaker, dreamwrecker)

A part 2 would be amazing!! You touched on it super briefly but I think the shock that solas was in her dreams is extremely disturbing and violating. And I loved it! That totally has potential to get wicked complicated. :) And it's different than Cole's ability in a way...Cole's is more unintended, but Solas' could become a matter of trust and his own insecurity.

I'm on a mission to read all your stuff so prepare for more gushing ;)

Oh and I totally blindly posted my comment on your solas fic btw. Didn't even realize I was on the topic of the day!! Hah, go fig :)

Edit: whaaaa there's an emoticon limit?!?! But what if I'm so full of emotion?? Blast!

Ooohhhh, Garrus is a very close #2 favorite! He was #1 but Cullen knocked him down by a smidge!

I gotta say that playing Renegade!Shep x Renegade!Garrus is oh so fun, especially when she gets to move on from Kaidan's crapola with her bestie who was always there for her.  :D

I hardly remember renegade in the first 2 games and it just pissed me off in the third game cuz I just felt evil . I'll have to revisit :) Garrus was always there to catch my Shep....gotta love "right under your nose the whole time" romances

My renegade Shep ended up being my favorite. It may be that the lines feel differently for different genders though. I remember I loved my aggressive FemHawke but I could never play aggressive BroHawke because he just seemed like a complete dick! My renegade BroShep just seemed hard and badass, not necessarily evil lol

Renegade femshep in ME2 had me cackling like a madwoman the whole time.  Evil to the bone, baby!!

And Garrus is my all-time favorite buddy in a game.  Shooting bottles off the citadel...classic!

Was just thinking...a Star Trek game with Cullen as the Captain.  He would look so hot in the Captain suit (black tights and all!!!) :P

He's a commander though so he'd be a security chief... OR! He's sort of a second-in-command behind the inquisitor... he'd be a second officer, perhaps?

Yeah he deserves to be happy for once, he gets my main Warden Amell, who got dumped by Alastair because I had no idea about the hardening aspects of DA:O. Her name is Edna since you know Amell is a Scottish surname. So I went with a Scottish first name.

Yeah I intende3d to romance him with my first Inquisitor but I screwed it up so I turned to Iron Bull in the end but this time I'll get it right and stick by him.
