Congrats! Out of likes myself. 
Well, Solas surprised me. I was already inclined to like him as a character because he was described as a scholar, and I could relate to that. But once I played the game, his voice actor blew me away, as did his mysterious personality. He was vaguely erudite but in an unaffected away (compared to Dorian, whose manner is very affected, and purposefully so... it's part of his armor). As for the romance, I find it incredibly CUTE! He is surprised by his own feelings. I won't give spoilers away on more than that, but suffice it to say, it is simply very cute and very romantic, and even very innocent. It's right up my alley!

I'm holding out for them showing up in dlc - the VA's would have already done their voice work for those, right?
Someone did find that cut dialogue of Cullen saying "I said in MY office..." in a very angry threatening voice. I'm assuming it was alternately recorded dialogue in regards to the Jim interrupt on the battlements. It's quite possible there's other stuff floating around out there.
Oh that's interesting, I was hoping that Greg would give us some snippets on DLC. So it's already been recorded...

Believe me, you're not alone. I don't think I will ever devote a playthrough to his romance. I need to get footage for my eventual LI appreciation vid, but I will do that with a Cullen girl and reload.

Different strokes for different folks. My top two are Cullen and Solas. Makes sense since I luuuuuuuuuuuurv elves.
I tried Sera's romance since I enjoyed her company with my first playthrough when I did my Cullenmance, but it ended badly. Won't get into here.
Personally, I don't see why people like IB, or now, Sera. Those two don't just don't do it for me. The only way I can get myself to "do" those romances is to play assQuisitors. Being a jerk is fun, and I wish there were more options to punch people in the face.
Like I said though, everybody has preferences, and that's pretty much the explanation for why people make their romance choices.

I'm also edging towards indifference with Bull; he's just kinda hanging out in Skyhold cause I never use him; I pretend he's going off with his mercenaries from time to time to kick butt without me

My favorites are probably Cassandra, Solas, Cole, and Vivienne (which makes no sense b/c I feel they really should have tried harder to work Viv into the game; she barely does anything)

I'd give Solas a pity bang just to say that I banged a god lol. But otherwise, I agree. It doesn't really do it for me. Plus, I'm just not really down to play a female elf. Way too twiggy.

I think people like how smooth Solas is when you flirt with him, and how sweet it is, despite how it ends. It's not my cup of tea, but I think I can see the appeal.

I have to admit to being one who doesn't see the appeal, but for reasons that I'm better off not going into in a thread.

It's so funny how everybody is different - Dorian is my absolute favorite companion. Each playthrough I try to use different companions so I can experience them all and each time I have a hard time not making Dorian one of my main three. Rhiannon's team of choice is Dorian, Cole and Viv (except dragon hunting Cole is swapped out for Bull because Cole is a total glass canon - he goes down like a sack of potatoes soooo easily). Ooooh there's some awesome banter between Cole and Viv, when I actually get banter that is.
Dorian and Viv are Rhiannon's left and right hands (both of them get on well with a level-headed Templar quite well)...Viv and Rhiannon are the Templar/Mage smash duo:
Overall, my favorite companions are Dorian, Bull and Viv (followed by Cass and Blackwall), but when I need a rogue in the party I usually go with Sera because I like her more than Varric and Cole.

To be honest, I'm a little surprised as well.
I mean, I know why I like him. I love intelligent, thoughtful, introverted, nice, polite, scolarly types. I'll admit I was a little put off by that bald noggin, plain clothing, and seemingly plain personality before the game came out, but I figured, "He must have a great personality if BioWare feels confident putting him out as a romantic interest." Lo and behold...!
As for why he's so popular, I'm a little surprised too. He's not conventionally attractive, all things considered. He's not flashy or dashing as some of the others (even Zev and Fen). He also has the greatest amount of restrictions (female elf only). I guess the fact that he's an elven god helped a ton, but lots of players also swear they didn't know he was a god when they pursued a romance, and we still occasionally get heartbroken players come to lament Solas dumping them, and surprise that he turned out to be a god after that. So, eh. *shrug*

I would say Alin's (current IQ) favorite team / team he's most comfortable with is Cass, Solas, and... the final slot is constantly rotating, but I think he'll grow to love Cole and feel very big brotherly towards him (Cole just joined my team).
He's afraid of Vivienne (lol), wants to be friends with Sera but finds it hard to do so, has only just met Dorian and thinks he's cool and kind of scary (being a Tevinter mage and all), is afraid of angering Bull (big... so big...), and just feels very distant around Blackwall (who approves of everything he does but is very standoffish).
It's so fun how each playthrough is different In this playthrough Alin feels concern and friendship for Leliana of all people, which hadn't happened until this playthrough.

Yup. Well, Solas loves Spirits, remember? He's all protective. Varric-Cole is also a good combo. Cole-Dorian's funny & interesting & heartwarming.
Cass-Cole warms my heart, but you'll have to be patient for a short while, Cass doesn't trust Cole much at first...
